After Muzan finds the Demon Slayer Headquarters and confronts Ubuyashiki, we see that every Hashira rushes towards Ubuyashiki’s home realizing that something is wrong, and as Kagaya sits up and holds his wife’s hand, he looks at Muzan right in the eyes showing no fear to the man or his threats. As the two younger twins we’ve seen since Season 1 go to their father’s side, and Gyomei starts to remember when he met the Master, thinking about how Ubuyashiki Kagaya spent every day of his life visiting the graves of Demon Slayers until he couldn’t walk anymore, and about how he looked before his disease began to progress. Flashing forward a bit the master told Gyomei that Muzan will arrive within the next few days so everyone should use him as a decoy, and as Gyomei and the others near the Ubuyashiki compound, a giant explosion can be heard as Ubuyashiki takes himself and his entire family out of the equation, staggering Muzan enough for Tamayo to sneak in and make Muzan absorb something that would make him into a human, as Gyomei dives in and knocks off Muzan’s head.

Fun fact: Kagaya Ubuyashiki deliberately kept the hashira in relative proximity to his estate, but they did not know about his plans. All except Gyomei. Gyomei was entrusted with Ubuyashiki's plans and was lying in wait for Muzan to arrive and the bomb to go off. Same as Tamayo. The reason why Muzan did not detect them, despite them being within 100 metres of the mansion, is that they were using Yushiro's paper tags to hide their presences.

@@runtergerutscht4401 that makes me wonder if his blood demon art developed like that on purpose to allow him to protect himself. Since he was weaker than demons that normally drank blood his body probably developed a blood demon art stronger than normal so Yushiro would be less likely to die.

I imagine he chose to tell only Gyomei the plan for two reasons
1) he is the strongest Hashira capable of incredible strength and speed as well is insane levels of stamina
2)not only is he the strongest Hashira he is probably the most emotional and empathetic Hashira all the others would have undoubtedly objected to this plan and would not understand but Gyomei did

This channel makes mistakes constantly. Either they don't actually consume the media, or they do it on purpose for engagement, as people will feel the need to correct them in the comments.
What Tomayo injected into Muzan wasn't successful turning him human, but it had a few other compositions to it that aged him dramatically. Also, the giant thorns that temporarily held Muzan in place was from the power of the man he turned into a demon in public when he first met Tanjiro. It's in chapter 138 of the manga for reference.

According to some of the other comments, Kagaya wanted only himself to die in the explosion and told his family to get to safety, but his wife and two eldest daughters insisted on staying with him to the very end. I personally can’t confirm or deny this, but it would certainly be plausible.

Since Gyomei was the current strongest Hashira the explosion plus Tamayos poison this plan was meant to be a one shot kill, but as expected Muzan wasn't gonna go down easy, which is why it was convenient to have the rest of the Hashira close by. With out knowledge of this plan the rest of the Hashira would be moved deeply for Kagayas death given them all a huge boost of adrenaline to go all out from the start, you could say this was the backup plan.

Kagaya’s entire family doesn’t die. In the Ubuyashiki mansion there was Kagaya, his wife and two daughters, who die in the explosion. His son and I think two other daughters live. Idk where they are at that moment but they help defeat Muzan in the final battle.

I have not read the manga, but hearing that kagaya want to be used as a decoy hurts my heart, he is unable to fight like the hashiras and other demon slayers, but he had to do something even if it means his life, I feel bad for him, and I don’t know how qyomei feels about this since he is the only one who knew about this plan
And two of his daughters and his wife agreed to that. All of his family is the GOAT. And the remaining son and daughters, all at 8 yo, lead the corps to victory.
