Momo Hero Costume REDESIGN (MHA)

- My Hero Academia is a great anime and I love Momo as a character. She’s smart and from a wealthy family, but she doesn’t look down upon others or flaunt it. The only issue I have with this character is her costume. It’s highly impractical and today I am redesigning it.

i agree with the no capes tbh ! it just gets in the way, and this also goes for other heroes with capes !
Yes! I get if it’s a small decorative cape but a full-length one is a safety hazard.

That part was really cool! It’s a more out of the box way to make use of a cape but it’s more situational. Something like that would be extremely rare so it would not really be considered in a pro-cape argument. But that is an interesting point, I’m glad you bought it up.
I've seen alot of people get angry when people remove the opening around her chest in the hero costume mostly becuase they have the argument that it's needed becuase she needs open skin to use her quirk people also accuse said people of slut shaming when they remove the opening
And I mean yeah that's true and I'm sure there are some people who would mean it in such a way but it dosen't make sense for Momo to have such a huge window around that area especially sense we know how shy she is not to mention her age as well as the points you've already made in the video
And the argument that she needs her suit open for her quirk to work as it needs her skin on display falls apart when you consider that Miro's suit was made using his DNA so he wouldn't phase out of his suit when using it, so I don't see why they couldn't do the same for Momo

True! However, I don’t know how they would make a hero suit with Momo’s DNA as her quirk requires a lot of energy (food) to work. Every time she makes something it consumes energy, taking cells to make the object. Since the suit is made of her DNA, would it deteriorate when she uses her quirk? Idk, think that a suit made using Momo’s DNA is a really cool an valid concept but I don’t know if it would work in practice. Also thank you for bringing up Hagakure! I want to design a suit for her that she can turn invisible at will so that if she wants people to see her (interviews, meetings with fans, etc) she can let them but also make her costume invisible when in battle. She along with Todoroki are the next redesigns.

....there is nothing practical about wearing high heels into active combat. Dont get me wrong, a costume with high heels can be and is aesthetically pleasing. But it the heel can break or you can twist your ankle and BAM! your hurt or off balanced
This is a good point and I do agree. 😄 I did want to have some more interesting design elements (as a fashion design major it’s a must) so that’s why I left in the heels. But yes, they can lead to accidents and injuries if someone isn’t careful. I’m used to wearing heals myself and have been wearing them for years, the times I’ve fallen down stairs or twisted my ankle have always been in flats. So my own biases have definitely seeped into the design. 😅

I like you’re design but isn’t practical and I personally don’t think that her original costume is inappropriate because she need it to be practical for her quirk and in the manga she literally says that she wanted to be even more revealing on purpose for her quirk

Bro her outfit is not only inappropriate but HIGHLY impractical. In battle you move around a lot and almost every single enemy/adversary in My Hero Academia has had powers that manifest in physical ways (excluding Shinso) and sometimes even carry weapons (Toga, Stain, Spinner). She would be very prone to accidental exposure in these situations. Not to mention this character is 15, a minor, which means a costume like this IS inappropriate. In the design I kept her stomach, arms, and legs exposed so she could use her quirk freely without having to worry about accidentally exposing herself mid battle. I think my design is far more practical than the cannon design for these reasons.
