Non-Biological Factors in Depression: Diet

  • Clinical depression is becoming a major problem for an increasing portion of society. While there are medical treatments that can assist, there are also some things that we can do as individuals to reduce the frequency and impact of this modern plague.
    Diet is not something that immediately comes to mind when we think of the problem of depression. However, several recent studies published in distinguished scientific journals are pointing to a connection between the types of food that we eat and depression.

    Thanks for the info. Personally, there's a Bible verse that say to cast our burdens to Him (I forgot the exact verse). I live on this phrase. Any negative emotions that I have, I just cast it to Him. And it works all the time. And I thank God for letting me feel Him everytime I cast any burden that I have.

    ONE THING WHICH CONCERNS ME: WHAT HAPPENS WHEN CHILDREN ARE NOT FED PROPERLY IN THEIR FORMATIVE YEARS? ARE THE CHILDREN MORE LIKELY TO HAVE SKEWED BRAIN CHEMISTRY AND DEPRESSION AS ADULTS--?
