SPLAT FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS GOOD AND HOLY PLEASE MAKE A SERIES OUT OF THIS!!! Love D&D and love your let's plays even more. It's been waaaaay too long since we've had a good long running series (Stranded Deep? I forget). Please man do it.
I'ma be mad if this doesn't keep going. Lol.
^^^ THIS
_Oooh, look at all the character art! I'd love to see all the portraits tha--_
*chooses Dwarf*
_Oh..._
As a pathfinder player, it amazes me how thoroughly the role play game has being adapted into this game
Splatty gets to choose a race, I wonder who he'll choose....noooooottt. dwarf obvi
Stopped watching when Dwarf was picked. Dwarves are the fantasy equivalent to zombies in horror games. Done to death and dull as fuck.
Wrath Oranos I feel that way about elves.
Wrath Oranos But all gamers love dwarves! It's a race of short, hairy people who spend most of their time indoors, have no social graces and subsist on a diet of cured meat and beer! It's no different than how I keep seeing a bit of myself in goblins!
In all seriousness though, halfling master race.
Wrath Oranos Thats so fucking false i hate you for even thinking it. Zombies are done because they are essentially a GENRE. Elves are more done than all the other common fantasy races combined, go ahead and look around, hell they outnumber humans. I bet thats what you wanted him to pick too. I will fight you on this.
Chase Sandlin thats because its true. Elves are probably 50x more common; no exaggeration. Sex sells and people want their waifus
Yes! Yes! Yes! Going to work, but play more of this! Love you and this game. Later Splat.
Splat, please keep playing this game for us! I must see more!
You can use Tab to highlight objects. For instance, in the armory is still stuff you can loot.
Nice let's try Splatt. Hope to see more of this pretty neat CRPG on stream maybe ?
I hoped you would play that game ^^ Maybe consider playing on stream, I would definitely watch it ;)
Please make more episodes! I'll be super hyped if you make a series of this
It's interesting to see what you're doing with the knowledge I have from playing a bit myself. I'm willing to bet you're going to make the same "mistakes" I did. Hopefully you toss out some more episodes of this so I can find out. There are some interesting dynamics with this game that are going to get some getting used to. On a side note, you can click the tabs above your hot bar. The left one will show spells and has a tab on it for each level. Cantrips (top) are unlimited casts. All the leveled ones are limited casts between rests (same as Pillars 1 and standard d&d). Middle tab is abilities that are available to the character. And far right is the belt items (like where you put the potions). I'm not even sure if I'm going to use the hot bar when I can just open the tabs. Also, the companion AI is defaulted where they'll use cantrips, but not anything with a limited usage (can be changed in options). Sneak is a tiny icon on the far right of all the portraits.
There's something about that attack that's right out of the first neverwinter nights. 'The first location gets attacked' is as cliche as you pointed out, but the texture of this is classic NWN1. The shouting in the distance, the overall colour scheme of the location, all of it.
Haha the default dwarf looks like italianspartacus :D
Now this will definitely be an interesting series! Splats and RPGs are like crack!
I've been waiting for this for a while now. I play pathfinder pen and paper every Saturday with my 3 best friends, love the creation system totally like the tabletop. Can't wait to get hands on
"My schpleeen!"
*Wilhelm scream*
Would really love to see a stream of this at some point, man
Tyranny and DOS2 were my favorites so far. Tyranny needs more for sure.
Please record some more episodes. This game looks realy interesting!
I love watching you play I so want more of this
The Lore in Tyrani was one of the best in a long time.
More episodes please Splatt!
I completely agree, Tyranny is the stuff! As for this game, it's got some things to boast about, but others, less so. It's dialogue might be well voice-acted, but it's not written all that well, and the strict morality system isn't reflective of what morality is like. It's not make-or-break stuff, but it's still important.
the morality system is still better than the typical good vs. evil system too many games have.
Magma Kojote. Mmmmh... True enough, but games without such systems (and with reputation systems instead), much like Tyranny, follow the best path in my opinion.
@@yaumelepire6310 reputation in my opinion is the same as good and evil. Or at least very similar. Because depending how the world is laid out or how the system works you can neutral in one place, good in another or evil in a different location. Morality in my opinion causes players to think of every situation and how that character would think and feel rather than oh I hated this guy from the beginning let's kill him when every other action conflicts with how you set up your character
jordan Crawford. It doesn't work that way in Tyranny though. In that game, you have two metrics to tell how a faction or Archon feels about you: Wrath and Favor, and they aren't exclusive. Your companions have Loyalty and Fear instead, but it's more or less the same thing. You can have the max level in both at the same time for a faction, Archon or companion, and it will greatly impact how that faction reacts to you. And you don't have to act evil to pile on Wrath with a given faction! The Disfavored, one of the armies, will hate you pretty quickly if you choose to conscript the Tiersmen (the collective name of the groups that live in the region you are invading) despite that being arguably more moral than executing them, and the fact that it makes the Conquest easier for them. And Tunon's Court will adore you and be very angry with you *at the same time* if you find loopholes in your application of the law, even if you kill or spare someone for it, which they don't seem to care about. There is no morality in Tyranny per say, just factions and characters with their own interests, wants and dislikes, and that is the way to do it if you ask me.
Tyranny's premise is that evil has already won. So basically you don't have a choice in consequences with morality since you would be fluctuating between lawful evil, and chaotic evil morality concepts. having a reputation only-system is more limiting than other games that have used both
Fun gameplay impressions! I want this game on Nintendo Switch!
Please let there come a full let's play of this great game.
Would love 2 see more on stream or youtube!
Splattiboy, I'd love to see more :)
If i ever get in a fight i'm gonna lead with that line Splatty. "Sir, are you aware that you're the first enemy in this game, you're basically my tutorial"
From what I understand paizo bought 3.5 from Wizards of the Coast, made some improvements and it's basically 3.75. Pathfinder 2.0 is coming out soon though
Pathfinder is so good too, i actually have come to prefer it over DND in recent years.
didn't bought. it's open game licence.
but yeah. it's pretty much 3.75
Yeah, paizo didn't buy 3.5. The ruleset for 3.5 was open source, so paizo (and a bunch of other companies) were able to freely publish their own books using those rules. Paizo simply took the original rules and overhauled and refined them.
Too bad pathfinder 2 isn't really expanding on pathfinder more than implementing 4.0 bullcrap. After buying the play test book I don't expect it to live up to its predecessor unfortunately.
2.0 looks like garbage so far. Pretty much 5th ed bullshit in the pathfinder world, will NOT be changing over
Wow this game looks pretty interesting. Would love to see more!
Hahaha... omg Splatt is the best. Are you sure about that ? Had tears in my eyes :D
You can still heal your party members even when they’re down (when they have 0 health). The only time you can’t heal them is when they’re dead (their portrait will be covered with blood).
Thank you for showing gameplay. So far (27th of september 2018) i haven't seen a single review on youtube or from the games media what so ever O.o Game is out for two days now, like wtf? I see a whole bunch of steam reviews but it's either very buggy and out of balance, thus not recommended, or it's a great RPG that people seem to love, but no one going in deeply about what its good or bad and if it's really unbalanced or something you can overcome.
Pathfinder bards don't take armor check penalties with light armor. Watch your carry load, the more you carry the less armor you get due to eccumberance. You might offset that as a dwarf but other races won't.
dwarf? Warhammer? Must be watching splattercat! :D Hope too see more of this either on YT or on stream!
Pathfinder. Damn I just want to watch that flick again.
I desperately want this game.
Can someone tell me how to use the snowball spell? when i click on it, my character begin casting it, then hit himself with it. i don't get to choose the target of the spell.
My character is an Alchemist (Vivisectionist), he can throw bomb just fine fine
Yay was hoping some of my CZcamsrs would play this.
Funny. I woke up today hoping you'd do a video on this. Any chance at doing this in a stream?
So many options ! I am so gonna take over an hour just making my character...
I like complicated games, I play dwarf fortress, this overwhelmed me at the beginning, awesome game, finally something to sink more hours into.
21:34 "Rouges, surprise, Sneak attack"
Dwarf cleric, not worshiping Tograg, THATS A GRUDGE FOR THE BOOK. Also Tyranny was hype, best game for making evil feel so good.
God this is fucking AMAZING !!
Channel positive energy (for healing) heals everything around you (30 ft radius) for something like 1d6 HP for every 2 levels
That selective channeling feat the game recommended for you lets you remove a number of creatures from the effect (so you can use it to heal your whole party in combat)
I wonder if the developers planned to add mod support. If so, houserules and ARG here we come!
Pls make a series of this splatty
This looks like a great crpg!
I don't know the story of this game but someone offering you a piece of land to rule just sounds like the biggest pie in the sky ever, it's so big I am 90% sure it will crush people who try to catch it.
Surprised to see how accurate it is so far. I would've liked to see more of the classes and archetypes included but oh well.
Ichthyodactyl same! I found the Alchemist archetypes pretty disappointing?
damn that is D and D 3,5 all over cant wait to play this
Pathfinder is a branch of the ranger skill tree in path of exile. Maybe that's why you said it.
Love this, want moooooore.
I love this. I love this so much
Liked this video at "MY SCHPLEEEN!"
Would love for you to take o more of this
I was literally just wondering when you were gonna make a video on this
yeah, I played D&D since 1978, and this game is not like baldur's gate, the game is like D&D. Both baldur's gate is great and so is this game. Very impressed so far.
Looks pretty good
Here I thought, "oh this video is just going to be character creation." Got through that thing in 11 mins!
I've been playing this, while I love how increadibly dedicated the game is to sticking to pen and paper version, it can get super frustrating. Such as one of the first caves you go into has swarm enemies which can only be killed by aoe attacks, and not a single person in my party had aoe attacks, so I had to spend like all my gold on alchemist fire to get past it. Or another tough enemy later on that has super high DR vrs anything but bludgeoning damage, and the only person in my party with a blunt weapon was my tank. Doesn't help to have a doomsday timer ticking down when I'm constantly having to run back to town to re-equip my party to deal with a new threat each time I run into a roadblock.
It is definitely not so friendly for the casual player, while veteran players will know right off the back how devastating enemies with the swarm subtype are, and the importance of bludgeoning damage.
Yea, the frustrating thing is that as far as I can tell there is no way to actually examine monster weaknesses in game. You don't see any information about a monster other than their health bar and their action cooldown, and the bestiary only describes the monster, it doesn't say what their weaknesses, attack moves, special abilities etc are so it's basically either go buy an actual pathfinder rule book to look them up, or die repeatedly against them while trying different types of attacks until one works.
Jasta85 The pathfinder pfsrd is a free online source. But you're right. What I would have expected would be an automatic dice knowledge check from every member of the party, and based on the rolls a bestiary entry updating like a pokedex, and certain details about it's entry to be listed and others as ??? until encountered again or discovered via research rolls in a library or something.
I hope they let the modders run wild with this game and add more source material to this game.
Jasta85 and maybe some character dialogue in combat talking about certain scripted fights. But maybe that's asking for too much work.
alchemist fire is pretty cheap, just kill some bandits and take their stuff and sell it.
Healing is Conjuration (it conjures Positive Energy). Though we keep telling Paizo it should be Necromancy.
@splattercatgaming TYRANNY IS HYPE
Actually looks pretty good ..... not a fan of D&D played it a lot back in the day (early 80's), was happy to move onto better RPG P&P systems like Runequest. But several of the D&D derived games have been very good, this looks worth checking out.
More Please
Very interested in this title
Can't help but feel all these isometric crpgs would benefit from following Divinity original sin 2 and going turn based, especially when they are so pnp based.
I honestly would run this game for you splats. Like the actual tabletop. DM me man likes get this going
This is one of those games that make me wonder why you would passively watch TV when you could be doing this instead. It's also one of those games that I would buy or put in my wish list but never get to because it feels like a big time investment.
Agreed! Tyranny was awesome, I wish it had been better received.
Please make another episode. It's an amazing gane
Keep this going please
I loved Tyrrany too damn
I love this game to death, but a lot of people are complaining about punishing difficulty. I don’t think it’s that hard on the default difficulty, but then I’m pretty well-versed in optimization in D&D and PF.
do another video. this is awesome
Damn this looks really good so far.
More than likely buying it.
Reminds me of Divinity 2, seems... slightly? more in depth.
Got this on Steam already, forgot and picked it as one of my HumbleBundle February choices. so, here's to a lucky gamer
Steam Key: 787VX-G85HW-HWM4L
Enjoy!
WARNING Video starts about 10:00 minutes in.
I'm gonna have to recommend that videos like these get sequels. Your gamer honor depends on it.
Please more!
Splatty, totally on board on the CRPG criticisms. Pillars of Eternity felt stale af, I tried getting into it several times and just couldn't force myself past the first town. But Tyranny was amazing, played through it twice. Original Sin was Ok, sort of in between the two for me. This one looks real good though. Played pen and paper pathfinder in uni.
Glad to hear the praise for Tyranny. The game was a real gem in the CRPG genre. I hope it gets it's love later in life.
Your deity favors longswords btw.
You planning to make a series of it?
Lol I got sad when I realized not every line was voiced. I especially like that Bard's voice actress.
sooo mine might be an echo in the dark but.. yes please id love to see more hell id love to see you do a play through on it love DnD and this is as close to the DnD i remember than this 4.0 crap
*waves hand* You want to do more episodes.
Haha, most CZcamsrs I checked chose the cool Dwarf ! My current CZcams avatar is a Dwarf.
more!!
Dwarf master race !!!
At least this has more than just the default "human, elf, dwarf". Wish some of these games would have goblin or something more. Maybe dlc packs? I'd pay 5.99 just to play a ratling, kobold, or troll. Per character, if it appears like this game. With character race affecting gameplay more than "ew, an elf." Like in shadowrunners.
I would love a greenskin!
I read some of the reviews, and one of them states a very steep difficulty curve right after the tutorial. That person cited 3 early game battles that were unwinnable. Spiders (first sidequest?), Werewolves (random battle), and Treant Bear (level 2 boss). Beware.
he was probably playing as an Elf Nerd or something that fight; could be an early game issue if you got a party of 3 and only 2 can fight.
it really depends on which difficulty you are playing. Normal is ok, sometimes it can get tricky, but overall you wont get stuck if you are not new to the genre. If you are, there are still 2 easier difficulty settings.
I learned the hard way that you are supposed to flee some battles. Also learned that you have to use AoE attacks vs spider swarms
Is this the one where you can make the cast of Critical Role in? It looks very similar to it.
Nop ,the one where you can make them is Pillars of Eternity Deadfire
Ah, gotcha. Hey, SplatterCat, go play Pillars of Eternity and make the cast of critical role! Right meow!
More please.
Please make a series of this or Cross Code
yes tyranny is the best. right splat?
More please
Linzi sounds a bit like Imoen from BG
more please
goddamnit he's pretty much a bard, lol
Please do more or a playtrough
