I think the german shepard is terrific protector, while being great with kids and family. So loyal and smart. She is always sharply on guard; but can make friends pretty quick . She follows commands well.

We had a German shepherd who looked after us. A friend of mine had a Doberman who not only protected the house and the family, but also the animals there. Even protected the little cats. There were never any problems with the children. He was just great.

I have a german shepherd hes now nearly 11 years old. Was naughtiest puppy but easiest to train of all my dogs. Very loyal and protective. He's also very sensitive, when I'm sad hes a great comfort and when im.happy hes also happy. Ive also had anatolian shepherd they are great dogs too.

I have been owned by three different German Shepherds in my life. I know each of them would have died protecting me. They are a wonderful family member and their loyalty to family is to the death, stand strong, never quit , yet kind, loving, gentle, high high intelligence and most of they will steal your heart forever.
My Staffordshire Bull Terrier is a great guard dog. She's so loyal and protective.

Sorry, I respect your opinion, but I disagree.😒 The Doberman Pinscher, is a better Guard Dog, than the Rottweiler....in my opinion. The Rottie, may weigh more, but the DobePins, was bred to be a Guard Dog, and it has better protection instincts.😉 Plus, the Doberman Pinscher, looks MORE intimidating, and SCARY...in my opinion!🫣
However, I LOVE all of these magnificent breeds: Germ-Shep, DobePins, and Rottie!!!🥰💪🏋♂️👏

I have had all 3 breeds. I had 3 Rottweilers. My 2nd Rottweiler was just plain lame. He was kind of skinny for a rot but the size of a horse. He was 135 pounds. My other 2 rots and my 2 Dobermans were equally as protective. My German Shepherd, actually my son and daughter-in-law’s dog which I babysit when they are at work, doesn’t bark but she is protective,but not as much. I would have to say my first Rottweiler, who was a German import and was 135 and very muscular was the best due to being extremely intimidating by his looks kind of like Cujo. He actually was very intimidating and didn’t take well towards strangers. He was great with kids.

@@bh1264 very cool. My dog’s parents were champions and grand champions. His dad was from a long line of champions and grand champions. His dad was on the cover of Dog World jumping through a flaming hoop. We got him for my wife at the time being I was traveling for work often and she wanted protection. He was very good with our 5 kids and their friends. Adults were intimidated but not kids.
