THIS makes me so happy. I worked on the project as a vehicle dev. engineer (oh, the endless nights testing this thing!) and grew up in THESE exact mountains. "If I was ten years old, sitting in one of those back seats..." Whoa, incredibly well bookended Henry, in view of the opening shot where you're in the back, in view of the whole challenge of justifying a four-door. What I love about Henry is that he seems to be the only auto journalist who can make you feel like you're riding with him and not silly for liking something unconventional. Some of the others in his field seem to lose touch with those of us who've never experienced fast Porsches or Ferraris, and treat them like in a write-off fashion. Instead, Henry seems to get that these kinds of cars are special and wants us to enjoy them for what they really are.

Totally love the Ferrari Pinin factoid. This is what differentiates Catchpole, Cammisa and Hagerty from other reviews. I'm glad Ferrari made this car even though they didn't have to. I think it's really trick that the ultimate purpose of the car is to enhance the brand by proving their mettle. Very smart. Too bad only 0.01% of the population of Earth will ever understand what Catchpole just experienced, but that's Ferrari for you, NOT for the common person. There are many, many more companies that are happy to deliver on that need way better than Ferrari ever can, no matter how smart their engineers are. The best I can do is maybe the Corvette SUV and hope I'm not the source of ridicule because that's all I can afford.

I have watched a number of reviews, all excellent, but I saved Henry's for last and for good reason. I guess that one could draw the analogy related to the Purosangue. The Urus, DBX and Cayenne are excellent cars, in that field but the Ferrari is just a step above much like Henry is, in his domain i.e. just a level up. Hagerty is lucky to have snapped you up. Love the tie in to the Pininfarina 4 door. On Ferrari's production numbers forecast, I have little doubt that they will seriously adjust that forecast if and when this sells as well as I expect it to. Yes, they will still maintain their snob like exclusivity attitude but they didn't create it because they felt pushed by a few buyers who demanded it, they succumbed to the allure of large sales figures. No matter how coy Ferrari might act (this isn't an SUV etc). It remains difficult for me to even consider an SUV but I have to admit that Ferrari have moved the goal posts, here. Stunning sports and super cars but hard not to think that they were just throwing new skin on existing chassis' but this could only have been from the ground up. Hats off to Henry and Ferrari.

I love the fact how some journalists ask 'Is this a proper ... ' as if they are to determine what's proper and what isn't, while the manufacturers can't. When Porsche came up with Cayenne, everyone said 'Porsche sold out', and made SUVs just to stay alive. 20 years later, the Cayenne is the fastest SUV on the Nurburgring, faster than many sports cars, and yet people ask 'Is this a real Porsche'. I just don't get it. Does this car have to be wallpaper worthy to be a proper Ferrari? And then, how much comfort can one expect from a 750PS V12? Ferrari doesn't build cars with comfort as a priority. They are sports car manufacturer. Although this is a nice review, I just can't get what the fuzz is all about being 'proper'. If anyone knows, its Ferrari, not some journalist who drives the car 100 kilometers and rates the car as perfect, 10 to 10 stars. That's just lazy journalism.

I read the comments about this video and I find myself agreeing to most. I have watched three other reviews of this vehicle before I watched Henry's, and I learned more from Henry than the other three combined. Thank you sincerely for your exquisite journalism and your encyclopedic mind of all things automotive, but perhaps more than anything, the way you approach what you do. Thank you.

Purosangue is puro-pure sangue-blood, so it means pure blood, not an actual translation of “thorough” and “bred”. However Italians do indeed call a Thoroughbred Horse a Cavallo Purosangue, but it’s kinda a slang translation rather than a word for word translation

Is it a drivers car? To me that’s about the suspension and chassis. As yet, I have never driven an SUV (read heavy car) that lived up to the drivers car moniker. Porsche Macan/Cayenne, nice, but not really fun like a light, low, nimble car. I guess I will never know because I likely will never drive one of these.

I'm with you. I drove an SUV for the 1st time in 15 years last weekend and gave the keys back to the salesman, jumped back in my 911, and went home. I don't understand how people can drive them. They are top heavy, slow reacting, soft, gas hungry, uneasy driving, soft steering pigs.

Quick note, Purosangue is translated as thoroughbred, however, the literal meaning is "pure blood", puro - pure , sangue - blood. 😊
