Here is a quick video to show how to use the Multi-Function Food Cutter.
WHAT CAN THE FOOD CUTTER DO?
The food cutter is equipped with 4 cutting modes to make slices, fries/chips, dices, and juliennes from your vegetables/fruits. There are also 40 thickness levels to choose from, ranging from 0.5 mm to 8 mm in thickness.
HOW TO GET THE FOOD CUTTER READY FOR USE
Follow these few simple steps to get the product ready for use:
Pull out the feet all the way until they lock into position.
Place the food cutter on a stable, flat surface, and push it down so that the suction bases at the bottom can firmly attach to the surface.
Turn the handle clockwise to extend it.
Pull the lock/unlock button up to release the removable blade guard, and replace it with the feeder. Release the lock/unlock button to lock the feeder into position.
Put the container at the back of the food cutter, between the 2 feet.
The food cutter should now look like this...
    HOW TO CUT FOODS
The food cutter can perform 4 cutting fuctions, as follows.
    1. Cutting foods into slices
Put the food into the feeder.
Rotate the thickness regulator to choose your desired thickness.
Make sure all vertical blades are down. If they are not, use knob 1 and knob 2 to collapse them.
Use the pusher to push the food into the feeder, and push the handle simultaneously to start slicing the food.
Slices will come out from the other end and fall into the catch container.
    2. Cutting foods into strips / chips / fries
Put the food into the feeder.
Rotate the thickness regulator to choose your desired thickness. NOTE: It’s best to choose a higher number (i.e. 4 or above) for a thicker setting!
Make sure only one set of the vertical blades are up. If none is up, use knob 1 or knob 2 (but not both) to raise them up. If all are up, use knob 1 or knob 2 (but not both) to collapse them.
Use the pusher to push the food into the feeder, and push the handle simultaneously to cut the food into strips/chips/fries.
    3. Cutting foods into juliennes
Put the food into the feeder.
Rotate the thickness regulator to choose your desired thickness. NOTE: It’s best to choose a lower number (i.e. 4 or below) for a thinner setting!
Make sure all vertical blades are up. If they are not, use knob 1 and knob 2 to raise them up.
Use the pusher to push the food into the feeder, and push the handle simultaneously to cut the food into juliennes.
    4. Cutting foods into dices
Cut the food lengthwise into slices (as thick as how you want your dices to be).
Place the slices lengthwise into the feeder.
Rotate the thickness regulator to choose your desired thickness.
Make sure only one set of the vertical blades are up. If none is up, use knob 1 or knob 2 (but not both) to raise them up. If all are up, use knob 1 or knob 2 (but not both) to collapse them. NOTE: For smaller dicing, raise all vertical blades.
Use the pusher to push the food into the feeder, and push the handle simultaneously to cut the food into dices.
    BLADE CONTROLS
There are 2 types of blades employed by the food cutter to perform its cutting functions:
    Multiple vertical blades
    1 slicing blade
There are 3 control knobs at the back of the food cutter to adjust the blades’ positions, depending on which cutting fuction you want to perform.
    Knob 1
Rotating this knob moves the 1st set of vertical blades up or down. This is useful for when you want to cut foods into strips, juliennes or dices.
1.1. When the vertical blades are down, rotating this knob 360° clockwise will raise the vertical blades up.
1.2. When the vertical blades are up, rotating this knob 360° counter-clockwise will collapse and hide the vertical blades.
To rotate this knob, simply lift up the green flap, rotate it, then lock it down to secure the vertical blades in the new position.
    Knob 2
Rotating this knob moves the 2nd set of vertical blades up or down. This is useful for when you want to cut foods into strips, juliennes or dices.
2.1. When the vertical blades are down, rotating this knob 360° clockwise will raise the vertical blades up.
2.2. When the vertical blades are up, rotating this knob 360° counter-clockwise will collapse and hide the vertical blades.
To rotate this knob, simply lift up the green flap, rotate it, then lock it down to secure the vertical blades in the new position.
    Thickness Regulator
Rotating this knob moves the slicing blade up or down, and thereby control how thick or thin your results will be. This control can be used in conjunction with all 4 cutting functions (Slices, Strips, Juliennes, and Dices)
You can use it to set 40 different thickness levels, ranging from 0.5 mm to 8 mm. The lower the number, the thinner the results will be. The higher the number, the thicker the results will be.
Thanks for watching, and enjoy your Multi-Function Food Cutter!

Pretty cool cutter, but some of the vegetables will be hard to rinse out near the bottom where the chute attaches. I actually had to get a knife tip in there to remove bits of carrot that would not budge with a rinse alone. Other than that I’ve enjoyed using it when I don’t feel like doing the cutting myself.

Thank you for the video. From your explanations you have two knobs - knob 1 and knob 2 to perform the same function. So when do you use knob 1 and when do you use knob 2 ? Thank you

    • @brieftons
      @brieftons  Před rokem +2

Thanks for your message! Knob 1 controls half of the vertical (julienne) blades and knob 2 controls the other half, at alternate positions. If you deactivate both knob 1 and knob 2, then the mandoline slicer will create slices (since all vertical blades are down). If you activate both knob 1 and knob 2, you will create thin julienne strands (since all vertical blades are up). If you deactivate either knob 1 or knob 2, you will create wider julienne strands (since only half of the vertical blades are up). Here "activate a knob" means to turn it such that the vertical blades are up, and "deactivate a knob" means to turn it such that the vertical blades are down. A detailed (and easier to understand) description of this can be found in the user manual that comes with the product. I hope it helps!

    • @brieftons

You will notice that there is a row of vertical blades on the food cutter. Knob 1 is to raise (or lower) the vertical blades at the odd positions (#1, #3, #5 etc.). Knob 2 is to raise (or lower) the vertical blades at the even positions (#2, #4, #6 etc.). Depending on what you do with knob 1 and knob 2, you will get different julienne results. I hope this answers your question.

Very useful vid, thanks. I bought it but found the two identical 360 degree knobs confusing, and a common complaint in Amazon reviews. I returned it but couldn't find a better i.e. safer mandoline in the price bracket. There are other niggles but they're not deal-breakers. So I bought it again, but in a different color. Originally I bought red and, although it's silly, I don't want a surgically-sharp slicer that's colored the same as my blood (I cut myself on a mandoline 30 years ago, badly, and the scar lasted 25 years). I've just now bought it in grey. I will find out at the next blood donor session if my blood is actually grey.

Cutting French beans is not ideally done with this device. We suggest other Brieftons products such as these choppers for that purpose:

Yes, you should be able to do all those things. Make sure to trim the cabbage down to fit inside the feed chute. And use the pusher to push small items (ginger, garlic etc.) into the feed chute so that they can be cut / chopped properly. I hope it helps!
