A few years ago, low-tier unusual miscs were the goldmine to making profit in TF2 but the opportunity has seized. Yet, I still see people thinking that these inflated items are still good and they struggle to sell them. In this video I break down why you should probably avoid low-tier unusual miscs.
    1:46 #1: Awful Visual Appeal
    4:35 #2: Terrible Value
    6:01 #3: Dead Profit Margin
    7:24 #4: Oversupply, Low Demand
    8:40 #5: Attractive Miscs

Also, if a listing says “ONLY 1 ON MARKET”, it usually means they are price gorging the heck out of it.
Case in point, the unusual dead president antlers was priced at 800k 7 months ago. Since then, there was only one seller on backpacktf, who slowly increased their buyout to 1100k, and actually sold at 1000k couple days ago. Whoever bought that hat has gotta be mad, there was another buyer hitting up other owners on the down-low and managed to buy one for 750k… That same buyer is now selling it for 1200k with their listing description as “Recently sold for 1000 keys pure”😂

Miscs have gone stagnant. They are stuck on these insane prices and as people absolutelly refuse to lower them people stop buying them.

I've bought the orbiting planets mining for 30 keys or something years ago and now it has risen to 150+ keys but dead market

This is why i buy dirt cheap cosmetics to wear instead of spending hundreds of dollars on ones with funny effects.
I think the most expensive item ive ever wanted to buy was a nuts n bolts brain interface which is ~ 9 keys now, because everyone thinks nuts n bolts is lowtier trash.

I passed on a bubbling mining light for a lot of these reasons. That thing would have been a nightmare to sell, especially for a lower experienced trader like me.

Great video! What do you think a circling heart misfortune fedora should be priced at?

Thanks! A hat like that falls into the category similar to my video 'Rare Items Are Unsellable: Rare Doesn't Guarantee Sales!' Since it's assassin grade (pink). I would say 35 - 40 keys.

Genuine question - Why not trade in cs2, which has more dev support and a higher market cap?

    • @Naxtee
      @Naxtee Před 4 měsíci

Profit margins in cs is way less tho. Cs 7 day trade hold is cancer too.

Just as the comment above me suggests.
Dev support and a higher market cap doesn't mean I'm going to make more profit. It'll also be silly to throw all my TF2 knowledge out the window and learn how cs2 works.

Almost finished cashing out my $6,000 inventory. TF2 is dead boys, it’s over. I’m even noticing it when cashing out, I have highly liquid Australiums and high value Stranges like the Kritzkrieg & Gunslinger. And there are just 5 times fewer buyers than a few years ago. It’s insane.
I love TF2 but with the state of bots and the way it feels like people have moved on. I ultimately decided to pull my cash out of the game before it’s too late. Good luck people.

In the period that we are in, it seems like TF2 is declining.
But there are two prominent factors as to why:
      1. The player base generally goes down during the first half of the year until it booms in the American Summer Months (June, July, August)
      2. Gladiator.tf bots and a few others were community banned unexpectedly in March which explains why you are struggling to find buyers (There are more bots today than ever!)

As sp has mentioned, the biggest factor of less buy orders is due to Steam banning trade bots and owners trying to get them unbanned and reassigning APIs back to them. Once they become online again, the buy orders should rise back in 2-4 weeks.
