He was his true self around her as she was with him. And in season 4 + 5, you can see that Dan is madly in love with Blair. Even in season 6, you can tell he isn't over her at all. Overall, It's Serena and Nate that she be together. It just makes sense.

Can I just say that the opening heartbreaks me because it reminds me of the boy I love. He loved me and I left never admitting my feelings neither to him nor to myself because I was going through hell at the time. Three years later and I now own my feelings but he’s way too far gone. I can’t blame him obviously, and I know I have to move on eventually but when I see the spark from his eyes missing when he talks to me I can feel the insides of me shattering. I get the same feeling when I watch Serena and Nate and how their story evolved. This video perfectly captures this feeling I got. Hopefully we’ll get a happy ending at last.

Can I just say that the opening heartbreaks me because it reminds me of the boy I love. He loved me and I left never admitting my feelings neither to him nor to myself because I was going through hell at the time. Three years later and I now own my feelings but he’s way too far gone. I can’t blame him obviously, and I know I have to move on eventually but when I see the spark from his eyes missing when he talks to me I can feel the insides of me shattering. I get the same feeling when I watch Serena and Nate and how their story evolved. This video perfectly captures this feeling I got. Hopefully we’ll get a happy ending at last.

Dan called her shallow in his book, why does no one talk about that? Imagine you have the love of your life who should know you very well and then in the most important book of their life, that’s all they have to say about you. If that was me, I’d feel broken. Dan really didn’t appreciate Serena as a person, I think he just idealized her. Nate actually loved Serena’s wit, mind, bubbly personality and actually accepted her and never put her down, and just uplifted her. I think she wanted Dan for comfort. But Nate was the better man look how much she smiles and laughs with Nate vs Dan. We should all be with the person who brings the most happiness to our life.
