FINALLY!!!!! Somebody who can ACTUALLY play C.C.’s solos! All these ‘hotshot’ guitarists who put him down, can’t play his solos the way he recorded them. Beautiful job mate, loved it 👍👍
Say what you please. CC’s solos were/are melodic, manic, wild, and original and fit perfectly with Poison’s songs. CC and Mick Mars are the two most underrated guitarists ever.
Agreed. Lets be honest, Poison's music isnt of the highest quality but it wasnt because of C.C Deville's playing. That Life Goes On solo is incredibly melodic and really beautiful. I've always loved Ride the Wind too. Think those two tunes hold up against any music of that era.
william arbogast Exactly! I never understood why people put his playing down, to me his solos are very emotional and are like an additional verse that u can sing along too.🤘
He's The Boss Of Glam!!! Not even Close!! 💯🏁🏆 My Only bone to pick is I wish he played more like the record "Live" Other than that He's definitely my top 5 All time!!! He made me want to play guitar!! Open Up and Say Ahhhh was my first ever Album I fell in love with and blew my mind!! 8 years Old "Life changed Forever" Poison Forever 💗
CC was a perfect balance of technical ability and soul. He made every note count and always played for the song. He is easily one of the greatest guitar players and is sadly underrated.
So damn good dude! CC has to be one of the greatest Pentatonic and whammy players to walk this earth...So much feel....People who hate him are shitheads...
CC was my guitar hero and cause me to first pick up the guitar in 87 at 11 years old. Always loved him and his solos are timeless. Life Goes On and Something to believe in are some of the best solos out there
CC is the Poison!!! He made Poison sound and the songs that stood out all these years hands down. No one can replicate his emotions he put through his solos. I find his playing is very interesting and a damn good guitar player. Also, his style of guitar playing is not for today's hot shot guitar players. Now, this guy did a damn good cover of the solos. great playin' mate. Respect.
Poison may have been pop metal; but they wrote their own music, played their instruments and always sang/played live; not like todays’s crappy pop. Loved poison in the 80’s and love them now! Great video!
The emotions, the phrasing, the tone and the STORY telling of the SOLOs are masterfully beautiful! Life goes on & Every rose has its torn. Sadly, he's below the ground rated and only few knows him. - CC Devile is one of the greatest.
Poison Flesh and Blood was the first cassette I bought when I was 11 back in 1990 and hearing C.C playing for the first time is the reason why I pick up the guitar in the first place. He needs more recognition and respect.
This video is so damn beautiful and relaxing to listen to just beautiful. CC makes solos with Feelings and emotions, CC was always my favorite guitar player for a darn good reason, Thanks for this awesome performance 👏
I’ve heard he could not play for shit which I automatically thought was patently absurd. This isolates his work and if anyone says he couldn’t play guitar proficiently then they are deaf or have a grudge/bias. Awesome stuff brother!

Take care and keep on kickin out the jams, keeping this style of music alive and available for the young to discover and dive into! God bless. All the best to you and yours!
I've heard that too. I bet most people don't even know that CC went to Juliard and is classically trained? Poison was a fun band and CC did what was needed for the song. I loved CC's playing though.
@@shellybean9 The fact that he went to Juliard and was classically trained makes his playing that much more disappointing. Again it's not that he's bad...it's just that he's a very good guitarist who landed in a era filled with virtuosos the likes of Vai, GIlbert, Malmsteen, Petrucci et. al.
@@grenademaster8981 what is it exactly that you don’t like about his playing? Because everything I’ve heard from him, he sounds exactly like every other guitar player from the 80s. I don’t understand what people hate so much about him.

I think C.C. DeVille was an underrated guitarist. If you really listen to his riffs , especially on Open Up Bad Say Ahh!, You can hear some really good playing on there. He studied music composition in college. I like all his stuff. Even his Samantha 7 stuff. Thank you for the video.
@rattlesnake-ef6so that’s good to hear he was even using heroin at one point. I never went to a poison concert but I’ve heard plenty of their life stuff and I don’t think he’s ever played many of the songs correctly live I think he was just high all the time and all over the place.
Very underrated song indeed. Another song from that same album that is very underrated is Life Loves A Tragedy....a song that until this day I believe should have been released as a single.
CC created these solos, and they truly masterful. Sadly however, if another player would have done them, critics would rave about the solos. But because it was CC, he got little respect. This guy does these to perfection. Beautiful. WELL DONE👌
Poison was very much one of those bands that either you where into them or you weren't. I wont deny that CC had some great talent when it came to his guitar.
C.C. Deville is an underrated guitarrist. He has not received the recognition of a great lead guitarrist and most of the time he is overlooked by music fans just because he is in a pop/ glam rock band but make no mistake, he is very talented and a great lead guitar player. I love his solos.
I'm not a Poison fan, never listened too far into CC's playing, but after listening to this, CC is probably the most talented member of Poison, an underrated guitar player for sure.
Awesome! I’ve always thought C.C. was overlooked. Great job! Would love to see other underrated 80’s guitarists represented. (Joey and Eric from Warrant, Tim Kelly from Slaughter...etc.
Cc and slash inspired me to pick up a guitar and become a musician. CC’s guitar solos were insane and had such emotion in them. You actually felt sadness or excitement in those riffs. Not too many people can create that emotion and be that complex. This guy nailed every solo.
I have guitarists friends who do Rush and Dream Theater tributes but won't go near Poison. Not for credibility or whatever, but for fear of not been able to pull off CC's soulful incredible solos. To me CC's solos make up half of the song. They tell a story within a story. That Life Goes On solo makes you feel pain and sadness. What a great way underrated player CC was. Great video dude. Cc was very underrated
Shane Thompson I’m actually a huge CC fan. I know he is awesome. I just noticed he never does his solos note-for-note like this guy.

They're great to listen to which a lot of other guitar heroes can't say about their solos.
Tbats what happens when u play bubblegum music. See also Richie Sambora.
It's because he can't play them live. The solo for Nothin' But A Good Time took 8 hours in the studio to get done.
