0:28 If you plugged that 8:1 into a riser then plugged that into a 1:4 on the mobo PCI slot it would cause a rift in the space time continuum.

Doesn't this depend on how many lanes the CPU has as to how many you can actually hook up?

Brandon, did you ever revisit this? I'm wondering if if would be possible to run more powerful cards with a setup like this? A lot of the mining rigs I see people using here on CZcams are well over $1K before any gpus are even bought. So if we could use an old i5 machine like this that people throw out all the time, drop in a good power supply and then the splitter we've saved enough to pay for a decent gpu.

Love the build. This is how mining videos should be. Recycle and reuse old hardware instead of paying thousands for high end stuff which you can't even get

no 75 is limit given by pci ( for the card without external pin ( like the nvidia gt ) ,, when u use riser , the pc don't give his own watt by the pci connector but by the connector 8 pin , all the power can come only from 8 pin , 8 pin and pci are in parralale , they are same , it's better to have more parralale cable for less drain ampere on each cable , even if 8 pin is enough for all ( u don't even pci power ) if u have 8 pin connector

I've done all the Gen 1 or Gen 2 stuff, 4G decoding etc....I've even tried a 4x1 PCIE expander but no luck! Cables are correct, risers getting power and power to the GPUs.
