You'll need six skeins of our limited edition North DK yarn for the original version - one skein each of six different colors. The sample shown here features the following discontinued colors: A (Fireside), B (Hibernation), C (Bough), D (Wintering), E (Ice House), and F (Enchanting).
The Glacadh pattern was recently updated to show a reworked version that uses just three North DK colors: A) Snow Cover, B) Frost Flowers, and C) Smell of Pine
. The updated version requires two skeins each of colors A-C.

Would love a full tutorial of this. No matter how I try I cannot seem to learn to read patterns. And for those of us who don't a full tutorial of at least a few of your designs would be lovely.
Thanks for the feedback.
Same brought a few weeks ago and I’d pay for a CZcams video on the tutorial 😊
I didn’t know how to read a pattern, this was mi first, I got a little confused at first but I came through by reading as I go practicing and finally made it. It came out so beautiful I gift wrapped for my daughter’s Godmother 😍
Thank you Chandy for your time and also for your beautiful yarns, I just got my yarns last week they’re so soft and beautiful. 🙏❤️
I definitely agree with everyone else, I'd so love to watch a full tutorial on this one too!! I learn way better at watching videos or in person versus reading charts or patterns on paper. Please please bless us with one, pretty please. 😊😁😊😁😇😇🥰🥰
YES… I definitely agree! I’m obsessed with trying to figure this pattern out. I finally made it to Rows 7-12 (14) (16) .. and is there a “(15)”? I haven’t been able to afford the yarn that the pattern calls for so I’m using a Caron skinny cake and hoping it will be close to get a reasonable result.
You are such a Beautiful person. I enjoy watching and listening to you. ❤
Thank you Chandi for another beautiful pattern and to Janica Carter for her lovely design! Have a lovely weekend!💞
Thank you! You too!
Thank you!🤗
I love both the knit and crochet versions. Being primarily a crocheter I know today’s version will work up faster for me! Thanks!❤️
You are so welcome!
Very pretty! I like the vertical design. It’s an interesting look instead of horizontal stripes. Great pattern for a beginner!! I especially love the shades of blue.

Glad you like it!
I agree with everyone else…a full tutorial would be so helpful….something has been off every time I have started…
Hi Therese, I'm very sorry that you're having trouble with Glacadh. And thank you for your comment. Is there something I can help you with to get you on the right track?
have a lovely day! 💕
@@ExpressionFiberArts Thank you for the offer to help…I think I figured out what I was doing wrong on the cuff….really excited to see the end product as this is something I look forward to wearing! I have only crocheted blankets and afghans, so this is a first for me!
When is the tutorial one for knitting one coming out, I’m excited to learn that one.
The patteren of the cuff is a vit confusing. After the foundation chain is states to start [Rnd 1: Ch 1, sc in first st, (FPdc in next st, sc in
next st) around to last st, FPdc in last st, sl st in
first st.] I can not figure out how this FPdc is followed by the sl to create the cuff patteren in the picture. I have tried several times and this part does not make sence. Can you demonstrate this combination stitch? @ExpressionFiberArts
Front post double crochet?
Thank you for the pattern Chandi. I hope some day I will be able to crochet as nice as you.
You are welcome 😊
Thank you Chandi, love your tutorials. I think this is my next project although I do have 2
of your patterns waiting in line.
So happy you like it!
Thank you so much! The tutorials are wonderful! 🧶💐

OMG Chandi & Janica thanks for this pattern!! Been trying to decide what shrug, cardi, wrap to make so this couldn't have come at a better time YAY 🤗
You are so welcome!
I just got my yarn to start this shrug! Excited because I hate seaming, and have yet to actually make a garment that isn't socks or a hat & cowl!
Awesome! Enjoy!
Super .
Un modelo hasta ELEGANTE .para lucirlo.
Felicitaciones .

Thank you! 💛
I'm so thrilled to do the herringbone stitch, it's my favorite floor pattern, now I can wear it!! But first things first, your hair is gorgeous! To be truthful, it's always gorgeous, just like you and your yarn and projects. OH BOY! I would love to take a bath in your yarn! The other first thing is I'm 14 rows shy of finishing the Rhoswen shawl, it's more a scarf size, but wow! I might keep it.
No, I can't keep it. I'll post on IG when it's completed. I do love the pattern and yarn. You know how to make my heart happy!!! Thank you so much!
You're very welcome! Thanks for supporting us!
@@ExpressionFiberArts My pleasure! The Rhoswen is finished and I'm continuing the Acalypha shawl. Have a beautiful day!

I am totally nervous about this pattern, it's like going out on a blind date with high expectations 😲😂
But I am hopey that I can make this beauty because it's so Awesome in design. Hopefully I'm just over thinking my fear 🤔 🙂

Always enjoy your videos, can't afford the yarn hope to buy them and experience them.
Thank you!
Beautiful! Wish I was a faster finisher of my current projects...
You can do it!
Well, I'm my own fault - I keep making blankets for family & friends! This shrug seems like a great pattern to polish some techniques I avoid yet plenty of that soothing meditative rows of stitches I enjoy when doing those throws and blankets. Thanks for the encouragement!
Lovely, please I want the pattern as I don't find it and I'm in love with this and need to make one for me.
Hi there,
glad you like the pattern. The link to the pattern page is usually linked below the tutorial in the description box. I'm happy to attach the link here for you as well: www.expressionfiberarts.com/products/glacadh.html
Enjoy and have a nice weekend! 💙
Simplesmente extraordinário 😍😘👏👏👏
Thank you so much!
Hello Chandi, this is a beautiful project . Love all the color combinations you put together, can't wait to try it. I know this channel had nothing to do with makeup but you have gorgeous skin, definitely would love to know what products you use. Thanks for sharing love
Thank you so much! I'm glad you love it.
Gosh I so wish this was a video of the whole thing. 😭
Please feel free to reach out to us at info@expressionfiberarts.com if you need one-on-one pattern assistance.

That is so beautiful! I don't know what it is about crocheting - I can follow directions, but it doesn't seem as intuitive to me as knitting has been. Maybe it's because I've been knitting since I was about 11. : )
That could be it! Enjoy!
Great patter. Your discussion on how to make a foundation single crochet is the best I have seen. On the slanted stitches, it looks like you are only picking up the first let of the stitch, instead of both legs. Am I seeing this correctly? Thank you
You'll pick up both legs of the stitch.
I'm doing the red/pink/gray version of this crochet shawl and I just received my yarn! So excited. I've never really made a garment for myself before, so I'm a little nervous, but up for the challenge! I just received my yarn! But I don't know what colors correspond to what letters for this red version. Could you list those please (i.e., main color = ?, etc.) Thank you! Looking forward to trying out this pattern!
Here you go: A (Midnight Snowfall), B (Cozied Up), C (Penguin),
D (Farmhouse), E (Peaceful Hush), and F (Warm Embrace).
Here as well. Not able to read patterns. Would love to make this sweater 😍
I'm sorry you're not able to read patterns. I still encourage you to download the pattern: www.expressionfiberarts.com/products/glacadh.html
Perhaps if you use the video in conjunction with the written instructions, you can make it.
I may have been a little too adventurous as a beginner, would love a full video tutorial with the purchase of pdf patterns!
Unfortunately, we don't offer that with our pattern purchases. The only pattern that is true for is the Creery pattern (www.expressionfiberarts.com/products/knit-your-first-sweater-course.html) which comes with a course and step by step instructions on how to knit your first sweater.
I agree that a more comprehensive tutorial would be great. I somehow lost a couple stitches doing the transition from DC to SC. That should be easy! Not sure why it gave me such difficulty.
I'm sorry to hear that! You might be able to add the stitches in the following rows if you spread them out. Good luck! 🧡
😍😍😍❤❤❤ wooow 😍😍❤❤ beautiful 😍❤❤❤ I love it 😍😍😍❤❤
Oh good! Enjoy!
@@ExpressionFiberArts You are elegant and you have good taste 😍 I am grateful to you and always remember you in my prayers because I learned from you how to make beautiful things 😍🙏🏻 You are a good person and a wonderful artist 😍❤❤❤❤

Coool 🧶 “ pattern “
Thank you!
I find it difficult to read patterns as well... I am a visual person I need to see it done.
Thanks for the feedback.
Love both but probably will do the crochet one first as I crochet faster
I'm so happy you love them both!
Beautiful, please do a knitted version
We have! You can find it at www.expressionfiberarts.com/products/gofleidio.html
Thank you, you’re the best. Love watching you knit and all the great projects. Happy New Year.
@@rosegaither Happy New Year!
Hard to read full patterns. This design is beautiful and perfect for a gift. A full tutorial would open up the patterns.
The full pattern is available here: www.expressionfiberarts.com/products/glacadh.html
Some of our videos are complete tutorials, and others are meant too complement or support the written pattern.
@@ExpressionFiberArts Your beautiful btw. :D
I'm missing the bloopers at the end. Please bring them back.
Thanks for the feedback!
Hi Chandi- I love the Glacadh pattern. I bought the pattern and made it.. it’s beautiful .. thank you so much .. I have one question - is there a way to keep the shrug up on the shoulders? It doesn’t stay up and keeps slipping off.. thank you
I'm so glad you enjoyed making it. Unfortunately, I can't think of another way than drapping it more over the shoulders and making sure the sleeves are rotated the same way to prevent it from slipping.
I hope this works. Have a lovely weekend! 💕
I can crochet but not knit. I don't know how to do it. It's very beautiful
Thank you! We do offer both crochet and knit version of this pattern Glacadh (crochet) www.expressionfiberarts.com/products/glacadh.html and Gofleido (knit) www.expressionfiberarts.com/products/gofleidio.html
Are there 80sts the entire time when working in rows? I feel like there needs to be increases in order to make it as long as it is in the back….
HI April, thank you for your question. The shrug sts count stays at 80 sts throughout. No increases.
I hope this answers it. Enjoy making your Glacadh! 💕
I love this!! Going to make it for my mum :) could the pattern be adjusted for a worsted weight yarn?
Sure, you could absolutely make it in a worsted weight yarn. Just start by making a swatch. You'll want to match the gauge listed in the pattern, and with a worsted weight, you'll likely need to change your needle size to get gauge.
In love with the pattern just got it!
Was just wondering what is the weight of the yarn you use?
Thank you! (: 🤍
This pattern uses DK weight! Enjoy making it. 💕
Can you give tips on how to block the shrug? I finished the shrug yesterday ( in the recommended yarn and colours) but am intimidated by the shape and not knowing where to put the pins for the optimal blocking
You're probably going to need to knit it flat with the interior facing up and with the edges of the sleeves gradually turned inwards to the cuff.
Thank you my precious I have been waiting for this pattern but find my mind is already boggled I can not figure out how you made the first cuff. Do you have a tutorial on this I have done flat ribbing and alternating fpdc and bpdc in the round this one has me stumped thank you
If you'd like to send us a message at info@expressionfiberarts.com we can provide more in-depth pattern support to help you out with the cuff.
@@ExpressionFiberArts Thank you I'll let you know I did find a tutorial late last night so I might have it figured out I'll let you know I'm a knitter but I love the pattern so much thought I'd try the crochet first
I want to make this..can you help with amount if stitches..and the increases?
Hi Lydia,
thank you for your comment. Have you downloaded the full written instructions from our website yet? You can find it here: www.expressionfiberarts.com/products/glacadh.html
All the details on stitch count increases and decreases are included there.
Enjoy! 💕
Love your crochet hooks, where can i get some please ❤
Chandi's favorite crochet hooks are the Susan Bates crochet hooks because of their short necks.
Love love love your crochet patterns however you never mention what size needles to use. I’ve checked out 3 tutorials so far & no mention of needle sizes. Would be very helpful, thank you.
Hi Victoria, thank you for your question. I'm happy to help.
You can find this info in our written patterns that are available on our website. The links to the patterns are also included in the description box below the tutorials.
The needle/hook sizes are usually not mentioned in the videos since we often use a different yarn compared to the samples (mostly heavier yarn) because it's visually better to see with thicker yarn in videos.
So please check out our written patterns or let me know which pattern you're interested in and I can provide that info as well.
Have a nice weekend! ❤️
@@ExpressionFiberArts can you please send me the needle sizes for the crochet shrug & the red flower shawl? Both so nice & I would love to make them. Thank you
