Its a goofy and silly show. But its one that has timeless charm. I used to watch this show in my youth, and I always loved it. This show holds a special place in my heart 30 years later.

This show was such an anomaly. If it wasn't for the rampant success of TMNT, this show never would have seen the light of day in North America due to its off-the-charts levels of Japaneseness.

So Samurai Pizza Cats did not do much of a success, because of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Did the people just watch the previews, and then said, "This copies off of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, so we will not watch it?" I like Samurai Pizza Cats better than Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and I do not consider it copying off of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles got a live action movie, but not Battle Toads (which is another show that I like better than Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, but alot of you hate it), and I think the live action movie for Samurai Pizza Cats will not work out well, because they have to use alot of computer work or use puppets, because they are not any humans in the show, but only talking animals. SPOILER ALERT: I like Battle Toads and Samurai Pizza Cats better than Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, because in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, there were four turtles that were mutated by toxic ooze, and they were mutated into Leonardo, Donatello, Raphile, and Michelangelo, but Battle Toads cartoon had three people that put on the devices that turned them into Battle Toads instead of toads mutating (someone gave a good point that if it's toads mutating, they would croak while they're talking, and that's annoying) and Samurai Pizza Cats is just abnormal, and it's a show were animals already talk and can move around and can stand on two feet and do stuff that humans can do instead of them mutating.

It was a time were the Turtles were all a 90s kid asked for christmas,and everyone wanted to profit out of their sucess. Between the Sharks,Mice, and even Toads,these cats were the most honest about it
So the question is....what would a reboot even be? Cause this show, the English dub, was entirely made up. It doesn't remotely follow the Japanese script. Apparently the Japanese show was something that just couldn't be converted to English, especially back then. It was full of Japanese specific references, humor, and puns that don't translate. So if it did get rebooted, then the dub would probably try and stick closer to the Japanese version this time around This show is very unique

There was actually a spinoff series in the works for the original KNT, but it never made it to production sadly. Where the original was "Cat Ninja Legend Teyandee" the spin-off was gonna be "Cat Police Beranmee."
That's also how I felt when I learned that Speed Racer was an anime. Because at that time, the idea of an imported cartoon even being a thing had never crossed my mind.

I used to watch "Samurai Pizza Cats" KABB in Texas from 1996 to 1997. I also watched it on WMMP-36 in S.C. for a short-lived from late June to August 1997. It was produced by Saban, who at the time, known for their Power Rangers franchise & its PR-related shows Masked Rider, and Big Bad Beetleborgs.
It's funny in retrospect that you realize while they're called "Samurai Pizza Cats", they're clearly Ninjas/Shinobi. And "Big Cheese" is actually a fox/kitsune, not a rat.

I swear to high Christ, I remember watching this show well before i knew what Japan was. This had always sat in the back of my mind almost forgotten about, until I start drinking, funny enough.
