    You want traction? Look for traction with hard rubber grommets. The type with washers built in.
    Known as OD washers They are screwed on to the hard plastic wheels. No Slipping or skidding after you place them evenly along the plastic wheel. Use a hex screw with a power drill...
    Go no further than your neighborhood Army surplus stores. They have them cheap by the pound.
    If you don't have one of those where you live.
    Try the sport section and look for baseball/ softball molded cleat set at these sellers: K-mart , Sears, Target, and (UGH) Wallmart.

The 4 wheeler I converted to 12 volts from 6 volts and I had to put homemade wheelie bar because it dropped the kids lol it's holding the upgraded voltage. The range rover I upgraded to 24 volts and I had to run with my daughter to keep up with her but it destroyed the gears quickly. That was her favorite up until it broke..... their laughs and smiles are well worth these modifications

    Mixing two batteries of different voltages isn't wise. Maybe if they are the same Amp hour, you'll get a more even drain.
    BTW I thought she flicked off the camera the first time haha!

    • @jennaorlowski9228
      @jennaorlowski9228 Před 6 lety +1

      Daniel Allen you're right those battery should be in parallel as to draw on the individual profiles of each battery itself... Not inject 12 volts through a 6 volt battery... That 6-volt battery is going to get smoked.
      But he'll learn 😉
      Costly mistake though.
      Also, in parallel that would increase run time.
      I don't know much was batteries are but they can't be cheap.

    • @jameswood7500
      @jameswood7500 Před 6 lety

      You're not injecting 12 volts anywhere. In series the two batteries act as on the main concern is the cells may be different sizes "mah" this could cause over/under charge/discharge issues apparently he's charging them separate so my concerns is over discharge of the smaller cells. But it doesn't inject 12 volts through 6.

    • @jameswood7500
      @jameswood7500 Před 6 lety

      When in parallel you need 2 same sized batters wired positive to positive and neg to neg to double mah "amp hours" with is run time. 2 12 volt batteries in parallel is still 12 volts just doubles mah. 2 12 volt batteries in series neg to pos pos to neg doubles volts to 24 but keeps mah "run time" the same.

    Love the tire-tread idea. I was looking at small tires today, anticipating the "drifting". But, mine has a center rubber tread already. You can also wire the remote part to the 12v only... You just use the wire from between the batteries as the 12v source.
    One more idea... Get a PWM speed controller that goes from 6v-24v @ 30a/40a. Then you can use two 12v batteries, giving them control of the speed with a dial, or using the foot-pedal. (You can limit the start-voltage and stop voltage, without much effort. It is also easy to quickly half-power, for new or younger riders. You can use a key to lock it out too, or enable it.)

      gaff I can see it now ....
      Smoking electric motors.
      These parts are generally designed just to handle what they are being fed originally.
      (And built by the lowest bidder)
      This is because people like to build parts cheap, they don't want to over-invest.
      So why would you use an electric motor that can handle say 30 volts, when are you going to feed it is 12.
      This has to do with the gauge of wire inside, as well as the coating on said wires.
      So my prediction is smoke... And no movement.
      But hey you go waste your money, have fun.
      P.s.
      I do understand that there are instances when things give me push past their design limits but it's severely shortens their working lives.

    The steering/traction issue you describe as drifting is actually called understeer as it relates with the traction loss on the front wheels causing the vehicle to be pushed straight while the front wheels are turned.
    With regard to the steering stops you cut I think I would probably have just widened the steering wheel stop key slot to the point where it it gave the steering brackets 1/4 in of play before they max out (cutting the stop on the bracket itself as you did would have probably been required). Also, creating the scenario of a tighter turning radius contributes significantly to understeer. So, there's that..
    Good idea on the bike tires and that remote cut off though.

    • @tylerbonser7686
      @tylerbonser7686 Před 8 lety

      Its not understeer when the wheels lose traction that is called skidding or sliding. Understeer has nothing to do with traction loss, it may attribute to it though.

      tyler bonser under steer is not having traction. not enough traction to over come the inertia of the weight wanting to go straight

      Power wheels aren't exactly cheap. I bet he's done something to his car, and home. People who like to work with their hands usually can't stay still.

    Those batteries are too heavy bro. I built my kids a 20 cell 12V lithium battery for their normally 6V power wheel Lil' Quad and changed the motor and gearbox to a higher rpm
    6/12V unit and this thing hauls. The lithium battery is alot lighter
    weight than the factory acid battery so that alone makes it faster. It
    runs all day long without heating up or running down and it's so fast
    that when I take them around the block I have to run the entire time to
    keep up with it. It carries my 2 and 3 year old kids together with no
    problem, combined the kid's weight is 75 lbs.

    Excellent 👍 the kill switch is tops. I definitely could use that when I have my kids and their Jeep.
