- In this video we show you how to upgrade the 12V Power Wheels Dune Racer with a 20V Dewalt Battery and 24V motors and gearboxes. The gearboxes have two metal gears fixing the weak point in the existing gearboxes. Stay tuned for a future video where we upgrade the Dune Racer to 40 volts.

this was excellent, thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I've got to look into getting my kids one of these!!!!!!!
The kids love them!!
Thank you for your video....very helpful. Have you assessed the need for either a low voltage shut off to protect your lithium batteries or a brake reduction module that would soften the stop when letting off the accelerator?
No we haven't had to use the brake resistor on either of ours. The low voltage shutoff could be very important but we have the kids trained to stop and ask for another battery as soon as it starts slowing down, so we haven't had any battery issues!
I had the same one. My dad put a v twin mower engine in it
Wow that sounds awesome!
How are these motors and gearboxes holding up?
The motors and gearboxes held up fine until we put the 40v battery on it, then it lasted about 6 hours. One of the motors burned up.
what is the off brand lego piece called?
Ticonn lever wire connector
What gear box’s did you use and motors?
We bought them off of amazon. Check the video description for the amazon link! Thanks!
When you buy the gearbox do they come as a pair or pay individual?
Does this dune racer not have the limiter screw then let's go fast??? The old Batman version definitely did, I finally figured it out after a year of use! 🤣
Wow, we didn't see one but well definitely will have to make sure!
@@wackyengineering there is a screw right below the forward and reverse shifter just take it out.
We did remove that a couple years ago, I forgot! Thanks for checking!
How to charge it
Just pop the Dewalt battery out and put it on the Dewalt battery charger. If you have multiple batteries you can stick in a fully charged one to continue riding!
all the other videos are boring add more power wheels i got this one for my baby
Thanks for the support!
