    Great video and I think you nailed the cars characteristics, handling, power, etc. I just go my 2017 S3 a few weeks ago and absolutely love it. I have owned hot hatches in my youth (Fiat Strada Abarth, Escort XR3i, Citroen BX GTI 16v, Golf 4 GTI (uprated turbo) but now as I approach 60yrs old, I wanted a car which engages me, but also is a daily driver. Its predecessor is a 2017 Audi A4 TDI Quattro, which was slightly more luxurious, but the suspension and handling a bit boring. The S3 takes most of that luxury and adds a bit of Tobasco sauce/Wasabi!. My Weekend cars for the past 20years have been classic Porsche 911's and so I have had that manual gearbox and no power steering engagement with the road. But they lack the practicality and got too expensive to drive hard and suffer the repair/maintenance bills!.
    This car just seems to be such a great alrounder for fun, luxury and practicality, all best

      Really appreciate the kind words. You described exactly what I tell everybody. This car fits literally every characteristic you could want in a daily driver AND it's affordable. Genuinely couldn't imagine owning a better car as a 26 year old, so it's lovely to see a 60yr old can enjoy it in just the same way and you don't find it boring even with all your experience!

    Great video. Definitely recommend the 2018 s3. That is what i got. I found if you really throw it around you can Definitely get the ass out. Especially with p zero in the cold . Great fun car . Definitely get a remap . Night and day

      Honestly I have done it a few times but for this damn thing to lose grip you have to REALLY throw it and at that point the very tiny sensible part of my brain kicks in and tells me to chill 😂 I've definitely gone sideways around some big roundabouts though, always a good time

    Thanks for the video man. These seem like nice dailies but I don't know about them being hot hatches. They seem very clinical and detached from the driving experience. But then I'm comparing them against Japanese cars which are more hard edged, lighter and raw. Horses for courses I suppose

    • @nerdycarguys669
      @nerdycarguys669  Před rokem

      No it's honestly a fair statement. I think what classifies them as hot hatches is mainly just the power. But, though it isn't going to be as fun of a driving experience as a Honda Civic Type R for example, you can absolutely rag this thing and hit corners at speeds you can't do in any other hatch so it has it's own benefits

    Hi, mate , I got myself an S3 recently , 18 plate so I think it’s the pre- Petrol Particulate Filter model. It’s also a Black Edition but a Daytona Grey (pearl effect) , Same rims as yours, but i don’t have it specced out as much , it doesn’t have the Sunroof nor the extended leather stitching and super sports seats, but to be honest the standard leather seats are very similar apart from the fact it don’t come with lumbar and of course don’t look as sporty as they have no integrated head rest.
    I also have B&O speakers and agree with you , they sound incredible so much so that I don’t even have to turn the volume half way and they get very loud with no distortion.
    I have a question, the LED strips surrounding the Speakers in the door cards , does the Rear ones light up in yours like the front ?
    Mine don’t and it really looks like they should , would add much more ambience and better look to the rear seating in the Night.
    Also, do you know where I can get the right size black Audi badges for front and back of car? I’ve checked eBay but there are multiple sizes.
    If you haven’t already I recommend you install aluminium or carbon paddle shifters on top of the existing cheap feeling plastic ones.
    I got stick on aluminium paddles from eBay and it adds a much more quality and premium feel to the steering wheel and they are cold to touch everytime you get in the car which is nice.
    Cheers

    • @nerdycarguys669
      @nerdycarguys669  Před rokem +2

      Usually about 320-350 depending on the average style of driving and the time of year, but it's honestly really good for the performance. As for the exhaust, best in the price bracket 100%. One of the main reasons I wanted. All friends that have sat in it agree

    • @nerdycarguys669
      @nerdycarguys669  Před rokem +2

      PPF, electronic changes so they launch less aggressively and also 10bhp lower. BUT they pull harder at higher speeds because they're lighter and more efficient. The new one is so boring though, I test drove it and didn't even want an S3 anymore 😂 Thank god I listened to my mate and asked to drive a 17 plate because the difference was night and day. • @Josh_0579
      @Josh_0579 Před rokem +1

      Depends on what you want to do with the car. If for example you want to go for 400 hp or more you should go with the S tronic because it can handle the power better. The dual clutch is also better if you regularly drive through a city or in heavy traffic. The manual is probably more fun on a b road through. But the best way to make up your mind is to just drive both and see which you prefer

    • @Cyclops_22

      @Josh 0579 cheers dude, 95% of my driving is motorway and around town but that 5% is what I love. I do want to upgrade it, I'm getting a new hip and a dodgy arm so everything points to the s-tronic really. How's the 6speed vs 7 speed?

    • @Josh_0579
      @Josh_0579 Před rokem +1

      @ethan-scott5208 I think they are both good gearboxes, the 7-speed is obviously more economical because it has that extra gear especially if you do a lot of motorway miles

    • @Cyclops_22
      @Cyclops_22 Před rokem

      @Josh 0579 ahh winner, in terms of strength and reliability I assume they'd be the same? I'll be getting a gearbox map almost instantly if I get the stronic

      @Josh_0579 Před rokem +1

      @ethan-scott5208 I don't really have any experience with the 7-speed but I have never heard anything bad about it so I have no reason to assume it's any different from the 6-speed reliability wise
