Learn how to draw with charcoal in this drawing lesson from the course, The Charcoal Drawing Course. In this lesson, we create a still life drawing of basic forms - a cube, a pyramid, and a sphere using vine and compressed charcoal on charcoal paper. Use a kneaded eraser to pull out highlights and refine the drawing.

Fantastic! As I watched you work I began to see subtle details of the values in the reference photo that I had not noticed at first. I can tell that "seeing" is a very important part of this process.
I love working with Charcoal. Thank you for these interesting instructions! I've done portraits with charcoal as well as still lifes. It's a fun medium!
You should get likes. I like you man ❤❤
Thank you for the valuable information
I love working with charcoal pencil, thank you for sharing
Beautiful drawing!
I don't know why it's bothering me so much, but I would have made the top pyramid darker on the front face, love this tho thank you!
I agree... with the addition that I would have darkened the whole thing as the item's values themselves are... shadow vs light, etc.
Thank you for the tips. Still working on these techniques. Have a nice day ☺☺☺
Excellent. Thank you.
Thank you Sir 🙏🏻
Bravo
My teacher is also teaching me like this!😮 ❤💖😇
❤👍👏😁💥
What is the best paper to use.
This drawing is completed on charcoal paper which is a great surface for charcoal, but regular drawing paper works great as well.
Great! Only the right side of the rectangle is not strait down. For me it makes me feel strange to see that and distorce al of the shapes. 😮
It's not straight down in the reference either. There is distortion due to the angle of the perspective. There's actually 3-point perspective at work here.
Sorry, sorry, but I couldn't help noticing that he didn't get the angles right from the original particularly with the rectangle beneath the pyramid, perhaps it doesn't matter hehe
Did you watch until the end?
