How about doing this show with Dave Jones during homecoming week? This stuff is just too good! Best Wishes Dave
Enjoyed your articles, Mr. Jones. Didn't always agree, but I enjoyed them. Happy retirement!
If you're going to send Dave off, with a party, and a video/podcast, you should consider closing, outside, with a guy on a tractor driving behind you. That was, whether you realize it or not, a common theme in the post-game, on-field videos. Have fun. Best wishes DJ.
Thanks guys, always good. Something tells me Penn state is going to have a very rough season. Time to fire Franklin
Nice Tom Allen imitation Dave !
Aric Heffelfinger is the penultimate Blue White game stud!
The best BW games were when Joe and George would be doing the color commentary on the radio, and they would start arguing.
The "reminiscing" of the old days shows how horrific we were as a program back then. 8-4 with wins vs Illinois and Purdue...why do PSU fans think anything after '86 was great? A bunch of old people in our fan base that make the past out to be better than it was.
Penn State never did anything after 1986, except in 1991, 1993, 1994, 1996, 1999, 2005, 2008, 2009, 2016, 2017, 2019, and 2022. All those teams finished 11th or better, had double-digit win totals, and went 10-2 in those bowl games. But yeah, other than those 12 years, you have a point. Reminiscing about 2022, God that was so long ago, I miss the good old days.
@whofan1967 many in our fan base act as if we were some elite program for decades until Franklin arrived. The reality is, after '86 we were a good program that became WAY behind on all things things needed to be elite and were average. All the old people in our fan base act as if Paterno was some elite HCing God. He was a great coach that should have left or been let go after '94. Franklin had elevated us FAR beyond anything we could have imagined 10 years ago. That's my point.
@ryansheard8092 Interesting. Well, as I pointed out, we have had many excellent years since '86. A few poor ones mixed in. That's going to happen to any program over a 40-year stretch. To every program. I think Franklin is an excellent recruiter and coach who needs excellent assistants to be successful. He's usually pretty good at hiring them. But let me tell you, Penn State from the late 60's, 70's, 80's and into the early 90's was as good as can be, and Paterno was the No. 1 reason for that. Check out his record in bowl games, especially during those years. The '94 team is still considered one of the best ever. I don't care if they didn't win the national championship. They didn't get the chance. That happened a lot to Penn State in those days. You can be proud of how far we've come, but don't forget where we've come from and who got us there.
turn the spring game into an exhibition vs a local FCS team. Same as NFL preseason. Require season ticket holders to buy the game just like NFL. FCS teams get a check, fans get a real-ish contest, Penn State gets extra revenue from an 8th* "game."
Hahahahaha best osu. Hashahaha
You will love retirement Mr. Jones !
Just go already! Stories are too old!
Bombardment.....that is now NOT politically correct Dave.
Osu beat your ass
Flounders, get to the point in your questions.
Complain about the BW game and post this interview! Does anyone find this entertaining? Please no more Jones! Bring back Johnny.
