hellooo everyone, in this sketchbook session I try out a new technique where I block in colour with marker, then go over it with some caran d'ache pastels. It was a lot of fun to fill this sketchbook spread, so hope you enjoy!

Have you been trying any new techniques in your sketchbook lately?
I have, Ive been just doodling untill I got a idea of what I wanted to draw, began with a leaf, too a forest with two horses
It honestly bounces around with me copying something from Pinterest, studies (?), And testing stuff I own.
I've been using watercolor to create more lose sketches and to add color to my sketchbook
I've been taking advice of yours and going back to old pages for warm ups! Sometimes I ruin the sketch, but sometimes I like it alot more.
I've kind of been doing a mix of doodling, drawing animal photos from Pinterest, and just drawing little animals from the top of my mind.
I'm also working on the design of the cat character from the story I'm starting to write. 🐈
it has been an absolute pleasure to watch you and your channel and your art grow throughout these past years. Truly, a privilege. Been here since "how to get motivated," I believe, and the 10 minute speed art of a duck. Let's see how far you go!
Wow haha that's a long time! Thanks for sticking around :)
I agree! It really has been ❤
1:23 that's a Jerboa, to save you the time of having to search it up lol.
I love your art Jel, you inspire me a lot! Thank you ❤
The neo-Color’s if they snap you can place the piece in a empty watercolor pan and use it as a watercolor paint so no need to worry about wasting anything at all. Their are some people who even take empty pallets and cut the ends off the neo-color to place in each pan to purposely use them that way.
Was drawing for one of my fanfics while I was watching. 😊😊😊
I drew some losey gosey plants while I watched, it was very fun!! :)
Having a death grip on pens and crayons is not nice because of the snapping but what's actually bad is that it chronically strains your hand and it can cause injuries in the hand and arm later on. The traditional grip with three fingers is the best, it corrects the tight grip and doesn't strain the hand and arm. I hope this is helpful to someone. I'm watching young artists with similar grips and some already complain of pain at a very young age.
Good luck to everyone
I really want to get those caran d’ache neocolor crayons but I’m also terrified of accidentally snapping them, I used to do it all the time as a child 🥺😂
I like drawing with crayola crayons and two of them broke so I taped them back together with floral washi tape and they look kinda cute but I wouldn't want to break expensive crayons LOL
I've been using mine quite a bit and I feel like they're more durable than the crayons from my childhood!! I haven't snapped any yet
But I don't have the watercolor version, which also might make a slight difference!
I like watching your vids. Your art is real comfy and pretty and it gives me an idea of what I want to do.
I like your video you did today My favorite part of the video you did was animals drawing. 🤗😊😆😌🤔💕💕💕💕💕💕💕
I like how you fill up the full page with bright colors. looking at them makes me happy!
I used this under coloring technique today with some neopastels and colored pencils and had a lot of fun! Your video was the one that pushed me over with some neopastels and I’m in love
Your videos are always so motivating! I’m ganna go try this technique now lol
The green girl looks so cool
Didn't draw while watching but I did try to figure out how to use gold leaf foil :) I'd love to try out pastels, you make it look so enjoyable
These crayons are from Switzerland, if you can order from their website or an Europe website, you can get the full set( 84 colors) around 200 USD😄. I bought mine for 187 CAD.
It is too expensive in Canadian art stores.
Wonderful creativity! My fav is the mouse with pink b/g
These drawings are so cute and it gave me the motivation to continue in my sketch book because I was really just not feeling it, but everything was so free and I didn’t worry about mistakes. I drew lots of frogs which was really relaxing and all that I thought about was making art not making it perfect! Thank you so much! I also have a question, what are those markers that you used to make blocks of color called, I can’t find it in the discussion anywhere?
They're the Ohuhu water based ink markers. She has a video called "winter pups & my favourite markers" where she mentions them specifically 😊
@@coffeebudd thank you so very much
thats a jerboa and a prarie dog! the ferret-like animal is a polecat.
What fineliner do you use?? It looks so nice !
Jerboa? Is that what you were thinking he was.:)
Hi, I don't know if this is the right place to ask, but will you be restocking old prints on your shop? Also I love the little worm
i break my neocolors all the time...,and then i cry 😝
1:36 I think that's a kangaroo rat if I'm not mistaken :3 they kinda remind me of pikachu tbh
what are the pastels that you used are called?
Caran d'ache neocolour pastels! I have them linked in the description, they're in the "art supplies" list on Amazon!
jerboa
The second animal the rodent is called a jerboa
What are the pastels called( brand)
In the beginning of the video, I believe the rodent your referring to is a Jerboa.
Yes it is!
If you want a channel that can absolutely help you with texture and freedom in art and very relaxing, I HIGHLY recommend checking out artist Sandi Hester here on youtube! Her videos are so relaxing and extremely educational and helpful!! Her advice and insight has helped me explore more than ever. Love the spread and you sharing this process! 💗 yes haha business expense!
That little guy looks like a kangaroo rat or at least we call them that idk if it’s it actual name
