I've heard "Do you guys remember back to a time when…", "Back in the earlier days of Minecraft…" and "If you remember…[_]…then you are a Minecraft veteran!" that they all don't sound like real quotes anymore
I bet various players will remember that there were originally no dyes for blue, brown, black, and white. To get those colors, these things have to be used: Lapis lazuli (Blue), cocoa beans (brown), ink sack (black), and bone meal (white). Nowadays, there are dyes for all of those colors, even the original materials are used to make these dyes.
old diamond ore felt so much more valuable upon finding
they made it way more common so if you find a big cave system you essentially have diamonds
Man, I really should play some old versions.
I recommend beta 1.7.3 :)

*my guess is that its a compilation
And he said the worstseedever 2x
ive been watching yours videos since i was 8 in 2017 😭 youve grown a very respectable audience man. i miss and love the good old days
Do you know how to do older versions on iPads 😊
@@NoorSanli-rv9ot you can use happy mod with a android phone or tablet instead
@@NoorSanli-rv9ot possible in android but not apple ipads
So many of these things are still engraved into my mind as parts of Minecraft that I somehow didn't even notice they were gone until watching this 😂
Like zombies and skeletons waking you up when trying to sleep? I still every time I sleep think there's going to be a chance I'm woken up by them, and it took this video to make me realise it hasn't happened to me for a really long time..
And things like not being able to place double chests next to eachother, I still subconsciously place double chests a block apart.. and again it took this video to make me realise I don't need to..
I remember using the console commands of "/gamemode 1" "/gamemode 2" and then they changed it to "/gamemode s" "/gamemode c" and NOW they force you to type the full "/gamemode survival" "/gamemode creative"
I remember almost everything you mention in this video and it's making me really want to go back and play a variety of different versions of Minecraft.. I have nostalgia for pretty much every version in one way or another.
I love modern Minecraft but I love all the older versions just as much, I just love Minecraft as a whole no matter what form it was in. I'm not opposed to Minecraft changing and updating because we always have access to the older versions. It really is amazing that they allow you to still have every version.
Me and my wife even recently started a co-op save together on the original release version of the PS3 version, on RPCS3. Just for the nostalgia. It was the first version she ever played, though I had been playing the PC version for years before the console one came.
I original started on beta 1.2, the whole 1.2 update process is very nostalgic for me, I remember where I was and what I was doing when I was excited for each version coming out.
But I did go back and play Alpha and Classic versions back then too.
6:40 I remember somehow playing this on my school computer in middle school by going through the testing browsers lol I felt like hacked
Imagine taking someone from back in the day, when only Minecraft Classic existed, and showing them where the game was at now. It's a completely different game from what it was back then!
I liked the old pink sheep and cactus textures. I remember when it was changed and i was walking through a new world looking at the cactus like "WTF happened to the cactus?!". Also, i keep hearing the old strange cave sounds mixed in with my world. Is that normal?! I play the Bedrock version. Its random and usually happens when i walk up to my house..
In bedrock, if there is an area where there is no light (Caves, mineshafts, unfinished base, etc) it will play a cave sound. It’s possible that underneath your house there’s a cave or something, so check around your house. When your in a cave the cave sounds are completely normal. (But yes it may make you shat your pants, they’re soo creepy)
@@Nightingale357 You were right. Lol. There was a massive cavern beneath my house. Crazy how big it was, lush caves, lava rivers, mini lakes, and the entrance was just this tiny little cave opening just down the hill from my house. 🤣
@@ashleeaustin358 I’m glad you found the solution! If it’s a lush cave, I’m not sure if it’ll play cave sounds (the light level is high, but it’s still a cave soo….?) any light source will do, I think it has to be above 5 (torches, lanterns, campfires, all the normal stuff) so make sure to light that up. It doesn’t have to be the whole cave, just about 16 blocks from the corner. (A chunk)
@@Nightingale357 I'm nestled between a jungle and savannah biome in small strip of plains. Very weird map but the cave extends all the way out through both the other biomes. Under the jungle was where the lush cave was. The rest was dark but Its all lit up now. It took forever though. 🤣 Thanks for the info, I'm going to keep that in mind for when I'm exploring and hear that eerie sound again!
I love how this conversation is just too normal it seems you're talking abour real life
19:18 Fun Fact: the one painting in the files where its just a creeper face is a reference to this!
This video brings me childhood memories and nostalgia!
I bet no one noticed this, but there's a "thing" in the sky far away at 7:41.

Oof
I’ve been playing Minecraft this whole time thinking that lower durability meant lower armor protection. I never knew they changed it 🤣
Fact: in Minecraft older versions of bedrock edition you can get end gateway by spawning wither above from an end portal gate and drops the portal itself!
Takes me back playing MineCraft on the PSVita edition version when before it came out for Nintendo Switch, I had headphones in, got hit by an arrow from a skeletons bow, and that made me flinch. It gave me a little nostalgic feeling when that happened.
I know I’m late but these are my favorite games and this is also how long I’ve played them and been a fan of them.
FNAF: 2015= 9 years
Minecraft: 2015= 9 years
PvZ: 2015= 9 years
PVZ Garden Warfare: 2015= 9 years
Rayman: 2014= 10 years
Call of Duty black ops 3 zombies: 2016-2017= 7-8 years
Minecraft dungeons: 2020= 4 years
Grounded: 2020-2021= 3-4 years
MCPE: 2015-2016= 8-9 years
Tornado time: 2015= 9 years
Subway surfers: 2014= 10 years
So those are all the games i played in my childhood years.
As a 14 almost 15 yr vet, I can honestly say I'm glad the game gets updated. Some of the things, that have been removed from the game over the years have been really shitty.
I remember hearing the rumors about how if a village spawned with a lamp post which was fences and black wool with 4 torches then the village had a blacksmith, I still believe it to this day lol
i swear this vid is gonna bring back so much nostalgia
Pure 2020 nostalgia right here
I'm not even a minecraft veteran, but I used to make a lot of houses made of diamonds
I feel like armor protecting u less depending on the durability makes sense? Like if your armor is tattered and old it’s not gonna protect you as good as a new set would lmao
That meme that’s like “DIAMONDS OHHHHHH” I miss that meme😢
Simpler days, bring me back
0:16 I still say they should readd this. Like, do a Christmas update and add a 'winter wonderland' in the world creation menu
Man, I wish I had been playing since the beginning. I definitely missed a lot of Minecraft culture coming in eight years too late.
Me too😢
I was watching this channel everyday, together with other minecraft facts and hacks
Thank you for using a Legacy console edition reference in 40:58
Omg that slime sound it was sooo bad back in the day
Been playing since 2011. Damn, what a time to be a Minecrafter
7:00 I started with this version of Minecraft classic on the website, then starting on Minecraft 1.2.3
Another veteran thing is having a 2 deep pool of water for clutch
wonderful to see a new video after so long
I didn't know these facts because I am 9 years old!
Keep it up!
i remember the giant zombie, i always played on flat world as my PC was shit
Thank you for the nostalgia
Cool video man!
I really liked the snow one at the start of the video. Snow looked so calming and nice in MC I was so happy to play a map where it just constantly snowed. I had this snow map back on Minecraft Xbox 360.
If you're going to keep re-using these, could you, at least, either sort them by categories or sort them & make smaller, themed videos?
Not only the you couldn't see the enchantments and couldn't use lapis, but before enchanting, you could re-place the same item to reroll the echantments there were. 30 wasn't guaranteed and you had to reroll for it.
It's incredible how much stuff has changed and how many things got changed/removed. I still remember a lot of them..
Also, back in the old PS3 and Xbox days (though, Idk if it also worked there), every update had different item cloning methods.
The easiest one that has ever been discovered was so easy it made a Survival world look cheated in creative.
You could re-name, for example, a block of gold into any other name with an anvil and upon crafting gold ingots, the block would still be there, giving you infinite gold. Combined with the fact Enchanted Golden Apples were still craftable, you'd be immortal.
This worked with diamonds, emeralds and many other blocks.
Has anybody remembered when skeletons had their arms up like zombies, no matter what? Nowadays, skeletons have their arms down and they raise their arms up to shoot arrows.
I started playing Minecraft in 2008. While I mostly grew up on the early Xbox 360 version and early PE, I played the free demo version on PC.
Minecraft didn't even exist back in 2008 lol
Since I'm on Xbox, I can't play these old versions, so I just watch videos from ZachScottGames while I play.
0:37 what da zombies doin🤨
i love how he talks like a nostalgic Minecraft youtuber
i remember when elytra minigame race was a thing
you’re definitely a veteran player if you have watched this channel before as a kid
The first cave sound you played sounds like a train for some reason. I can never unhear that.
I was so confused at the slime one, I literally said aloud: "I thought they always sounded like that?!"
21:19
You actually could! However this feature only lasted from Alpha 1.2.0 to Beta 1.2
You basically press f5 once, and then hold f1!
My Minecraft knowledge between 2011 / 2016 is higher than everything I’ve learned in school
The old creeper sound sounds like a BOMB💣💥
You had to go to the nether to beat the game because you had to slay 5 gasts
So it was not use less
love your vids mate!
4:44 just hearing the Mario galaxy music is great
Im waiting for a remix of the old hurt sound
“THEN YOU ARE A VETERAN MINECRAFT PLAYER” 😂we got it
Did you know that if you fall on a 1 block water it can kill you, and putting a boat on a slime block and wait for a while it launches you?
I still miss the old rose as well! 😢 It would have looked so good in the terracotta pots.
I remember when I was playing minecraft i was a toddler like young young minecraft came out a year and a month after i was born and I remember playing it and I was always scared bc of the old ambiance sounds that were in the game I was literally playing it at the age of 1 and a halfone thing that also frustrated me was when my boat broke because I crashed it lol its also funny bc I remember building houses in the mountains
As playing Minecraft for years I can confirm I’m a veteran player
I remember the old zombie villager
I remember alot of these the memories are coming back
There are some things that would be nice to have nowadays, like the instant growth bonemeal, that's one thing I dont understand why the bonemeal gets so wasted, taking 2 or 3 tries or sometimes 8 tries on a garden or tree. uggggh.
I.... I thought armor still worked like #2.... I never knew they changed it....
on the enchantment part, you could disable autosave and quit without saving in order to get your preferred enchantment
The boats will break into parts when you crash into lilly pads in the pld versions and i remember the old cobblestone texture
Those cave noises make me quit mining even if I see diamondes
The first time I played Minecraft was at version 1.13
When i was younger i
Loved ur videos ❤
Who else used to watch this guy in 2019 and came back for nostalgia
Best £12 I ever spent Beta 1.7. Also watching Xephop and Honeydew (Diggy Diggy hole). How to Survive the First Night.
Remember when dropping items in water felt like it might as well have been in lava because if the water was deep then you had no chance of getting it back without dying 🥲
It would just *sink.* No water physics. You just watched as it quickly disappeared out of view…
You mentioned the single plank type fact like 4 times in this video. That's cheating dude
Nostalgia is here.
Hello Anthony! You are back! It's been a while! How have you been? 😁
im getting back into minecraft after not playing for 10+ years.... i thought all of these things were still in the game Lmao
47:28 haha He said the word wrong netherite wasn’t a thing until 1.16
I remember playing minecraft with the 2d door sprite and old textures
I still don’t know why people called the enchanted golden apple/the enchanted apple, the notch apple. Whenever people bring it up in their videos, they don’t bother to explain it for new players.
I used to think it was the coolest thing making a skeleton kill a spider by dodging its arrows in creative
2:25 the slime sounds are still the same in bedrock lol 😂
You're making me feel old 😭
I've been playing Minecraft since Minecraft was even released
I bet no one noticed this, but there's a "thing" in the sky far away at 7:41.✨✨✨
Nah, ignoring the scam bot name, that stuff crazy.
no way the cox
i saw that 😢
I was literally replying to someone, get over it@kaylaconn2966
8:48 is when I played
I remember dying in water, was so confused
Time to start watching this, 1 fact a day. A whole year of facts!
Um, actually, according to my calculations, it appears that you're one day off. This statement is true, because this year is a leap year making it 366 days. Looks like you'll miss out on a fact! ☝🤓
@@FunzeeTimewell not really, as the leap day already happened before this video got released 😑
Wow. I still call them Reeds. I feel very old now.
You didn’t have to repeat “then you’re a veteran player” for every one, probably added about 45 minutes to the video
12:30 we still have texture packs... they're just called resource packs now
I started playing Minecraft right after the introduction of 1.6
yea I think I remember the bloxs without shadow texture
iDeactivateMC: "lemme make a 1 hour video this time"
I have an infdev rescource pack I use. I fucking love it. Old door sounds and everything.
They kept the modern glass though (thank God)
your voice is so nostalgic 😭😭
Dam I thought the nether reactor was just a decoration - no idea it was actually cool and did anything
Missed opportunities
I’m pretty sure Keith sounds are still in the game
I can't believe Mojang changed the furnace
