    This was a really nice review of a trail. Simple. To the point. And it looks like a beautiful area.

    At 3:27 make a quick right and bypass the top steep portion of the hill. This trail is usually ran the opposite direction but is fun both ways. I just ran it to Mt Carmel and back in late November.

    Good video. Thinking of taking on this trail in July. Thank you for the tips

  • @souravffff
    @souravffff Před 2 lety +1

    Any chance all wheel drive compact SUVs like Forester, Toyota RAV4, Hyundai Tucson will be able to make through this in July from South to North direction? All three have 8.2+ inches of ground clearance.

    • @RogueOverland
      @RogueOverland  Před 2 lety

      If you bypass the hardest part of the trail by Rock Spring you should be good. Be aware it will be very hot out there in July.

    At about the 3:10 mark there is a shallower portion of that trail on the left that swing across your drone path at 3:27 mark. This path would loop to the right then climb at a less steep angle than what you were attempting to climb. Its a bummer you didn't explore that, at least with your drone.
    I bet you would have made it to the top.
    Put this in the google map search to see the portion I am referring to:
    37.180044, -112.756203

  • @deantk4214
    @deantk4214 Před 3 lety +1

    You said to run this trail from south to north, is the trail marked at the south end off the freeway? So Mt Carmel Junction would be at the end of the run? I’ve never been to the area land we are planning a trip in the next few weeks

    • @RogueOverland
      @RogueOverland  Před 3 lety

      It’s not marked well. That is correct, you will be ending the trail at Mt. Carmel. The first half of the trail running it in that direction isn’t very exciting but the second half is awesome!

    Just did this 8-3-19. The Sand Hill screwed me, made it just beyond the fork. What was the guy who made it driving and how on Earth did he get up that?

    • @RogueOverland
      @RogueOverland  Před 5 lety

      It is a tough climb. The Yellow Xterra made it with lots of momentum, low gearing, and high revs on the engine to keep the tires turning.

    • @Onebandit
      @Onebandit Před 3 lety

      My dad in 2000 tj and me in 2014 jku both climbed it in October sand was extremely dry let air down to 6 psi went right up no problem up steepest part can be done let air out and turn off traction control it kills your hours power

  • @marioholmes3412
    @marioholmes3412 Před 6 lety +1

      Probably not, especially not if run north to south. That being said you should be fine getting to the first or second water crossing running north to south; even just seeing a short portion of the trail would be very scenic. Thanks for watching!
