Today we are once again on a plane and traveling to Mexico to visit Mexico City! We have our tickets in hand, and ready to fly a short 3.5 hours south from Texas. We flew with American Airlines to Mexico City because it was the cheapest option on our date from Dallas.
We had multiple delays due to weather before we could take off. We, of course, were flying right after the huge ice/snow storm of Dallas. We always seem to hit some kind of bad weather, and today was no exception. We ended up getting delayed twice, which we have no complaints about because our flight actually took off, and not everyone was that lucky!
We had an easy flight into Mexico (on a 737), and getting through customs and immigration was a LOT easier than when we've traveled through the Cancun airport in the past. Make sure you have your FMM card! It used to be handed out by airlines, but that is supposed to be changing in the future, so there's no harm in bringing your own to skip some of those lines.
Once we were settled into our hotel, we headed out into Mexico City to grab some street tacos and explore some of the highlights of the city! We walked to the Angel Statue, and then to Café De La Gran Ciudad which is in the Torre Latinoamericana and gives you a great view of the Palacio de Bellas Artes from above. Make sure to try the mango smoothie!
We ended our night in the Zocolo, which reminded us a lot of St Mark's Square in Venice. We've totally fallen for Mexico City, even after only half a day!

I wish you would of touched on more on arriving at the airport and process with immigration, baggage claim and walking to the Uber stand.

I don’t like flying with AA anymore bc they seem to always delay or cancel especially to/from Mexico lol
Honestly we’ve been having the same experience 😂 just not as reliable as it used to be. but that’s the case with most airlines it seems!

thank you! no you don’t need either of those things for mexico. some countries require one or both of those though! sherpa is a good website to check current requirements
