It is pretty much normal in southern states of TN, KL and KA. I have taken morning walks with somebody who became the primeminister, a famous poet, speaker of the assembly, IG of police, a philosopher They were my morning jogging buddies. Many more whom I have shared tables with in restaurants, tea shops. I had my 12 th public exam next to a movie actress, who was a star. I did not do well in the exam as I was oogling at her beauty often.

In Kerala Madhu usually is men's name outside Kerala it is Madhoo. One veteran Malayalam movie actor is there named Madhu. Actually he started his actimg career in Bollywood. His first movie was with Amitab Bachan and it was the first movie of Mr Bachan too.
Madhu will be the short form of Madhusudan which is Lord Krishna' s name!
