The Zoom Fluke. The Best Weakfish Fishing Lure

- Weakfish can be tricky. They show up and leave mysteriously. I have had most success catching them on Zoom Flukes with light jig heads. Something about the action of that lure really works well.

Your voice is mellow. You're like mr Roger's of fishing. 😂 Ill continue to watch your videos
Mr Rogers is one of my idols. Thank you for the kind words brothersinbait! cheers bud
THX for picking up the trash! Setting a good example for all.
Hey Martin! Thank you for watching bud
Nice Bob, love getting on those summer weakfish! Hoping they really fill out in the Western sound like they have been doing the past few summers!
Its right in line with last year which is exciting. Same temps, same bait. Wish I could figure the weakfish out, they are so mysterious. Thank you for watching Dan!

Great video!!! I visit family in New York about once a year and have seen people fishing The East River but had no idea how good the fishing was. On the other hand, the entire New York Harbor area should be an excellent fishery just because of the location.
Thank you for watching Mark! The entire east coast has great water quality this year.
Ive been killing it with super fluke and flounder pounder bucktailing for fluke. 5 pounder under MPB this week. So nice to not use gulp.
I will happily take you out in my boat if you can help me find weakies in jamaica bay!!!
@@break0nthr0ugh zoom flukes the OG. All I ever used to use. Have fun out there, thank you for watching!
Gday Bob
I've watched alot of your vids and that's the first time I've seen you using BC. It suits you😎
Thanks for risking a pee bottle and grabbing all that rubbish!
Hey Adrian! Great to hear from you. Thank you for watching. I like the bait caster in the summer. Can get some better action on the spinning but for vertical and fluke the bait caster rocks
@@BobAquatic are you on any socials?
@@adriangray459 I used to and have tried. Just the CZcams now
Good job
Your so awesome 😂😂
@@staytight6340 thank you
Our Jersey weakies really love the pink flukes. Whenever I catch some it's almost always on the pink.
Bubblegum is the best color for them. They go nuts for it. Totally agree. Purple works too!
new sub good stuff
Cheers bud, thank you
If you’ve ever seen video or a fluke in an aquarium that vibrating shake is how they quickly bury themselves in the sand. It’s cool to watch.
It's really fascinating. Like a full body nerve response movement. Would love to know the science of how they make they're body do that.
I just started kayak fishing for fluke in Long Island and was wondering 1) what weight bucktails do you typically use? and 2) do you actually mark fluke on your sonar? If not, what are you looking for to find them? Big fan of your videos!
Fluke from the kayak is mad fun. Depending on the depth/ current I'll rarely go over 1oz. Mostly 1/4 - 3/8th honestly. But I am fishing relatively shallow water, between 1-35ft usually. Yes will mark the swim bladder on the sonar but never looking for it to go fishing. Usually its just extra boost of confidence they are down there. I usually look for clouds of bait this time of year or drops/hills with boulders nearby. They like hunting on inclines and the boulders hold bait.
@@BobAquatic Thanks so much for the thoughtful response- you're the man!
Zoom flukes are killers ! Both the 4” and larger 7” I’ve caught everything on them, inexpensive and effective plastic. Curious why weakfish always seem to hit pink ? All weaks Ive caught have been on either pink plastics or pink bucktails and pink shine gulp ?!
They just work. Whatever blend they made for that plastisol is the perfect combo of cheap and excellent action. I used to pretty much exclusively buy zoom flukes and kastmasters from Walmart every season. Only lures I'd use, and catch mad fish. Every time I'd branch out and buy stuff like Storm shads, I'd never catch. This was pre-youtube
Is it possible to meet with you for fishing for a fee? I must admit, I'm from Europe and I'd love to get to know the local waters
I might consider guiding at some point but I do not have the license or insurance to do it properly. Thank you for watching bud!
Hey Bob, Do you have a link for the bow light by any chance? Thank you!
@BobAquatic OK thanks :) I wait for next film
