The Omnis-Duo is an extremely portable standalone DJ unit with a built-in battery, with a claimed 5 hour battery life. It’s got a familiar 2 decks + mixer and touch screen layout, finished in a color which is referred to as “indigo”.
It’s got a modest size and weight (about 10 lb.), and its minimalist design with short, stubby controls makes for easy backpack transport.
It has Bluetooth input and output (a first for standalone DJ systems) with some interesting tricks. Other sources are USB-A stick, SD card, Rekordbox performance mode or Serato Lite (soon) via USB-C, or wirelessly via CloudDirectPlay.
The Omnis-Duo competes directly with other battery-powered DJ devices on the market, such as the Denon DJ PRIME Go and the Numark Mixstream Pro GO
though it comes in at a higher price tag ($1499).
In today’s review, we’ll talk about all the features of this new device, compare it to the competition, and discuss who it’s for.

Great review as always! Would love to have this for when I'm on the go.

Just got mine, sound and responsiveness is great but would loved if jog wheels would have a led and would be a pair more leds indicating the controls. With the laptop you can use 4 decks but would love if had a dedicated channel for the Bluetooth to sample creative stuff on the go without using a deck channel.
So mixed feelings but i can tell you quality is there in sound and construction and battery do last 5 hours on normal mode. Also software might be updated to improve stuff.

Its great looking. Imma have to wait till it gets its update to justify the purchase. It falls short in alot of areas.

Great review, do you think since you're into computers and games AlphaTheta would be able to have some sort of frimware update for the screen flicker and other issues or something like that cant be addressed with software update?

Great review. Thanks for this video. Im in the pioneer eco and use a xz for live situations. I wanted a back up system just in case something happens with the xz. Would love too have the omnis. As back up but also to prepare sets on the way. Unfortunately too expensive for the purpose i need it so i bought the mixstream pro go. Standalone and works great with virtual dj. Still need to hook up my big xz home to prep sets tho. The mixstream dont work with rekordbox.
    Greetings from Holland.

500 dollars too much. Maybe at a grand this would've been worth it. I just bought my new controller, a Rane 4. Same price right now as the Omni Duo. Yes, not stand alone, But I had the OG Numark Prime Go. I really liked it but felt I needed a more channels and stems. IF I were to go stand alone. I would've gotten one the current Denon DJ controllers.

Facts not a bad controller at all but it is overpriced.

Great review. I have my normal gear however if I did decide I wanted something portable and Bluetooth, even though it has a Pioneer tax on it, I’d go this route w the duo. For me it’s simply that I use rbx. Trying to add new software in the workflow is more to me than the $500, not that I’m justifying but ecosystems matter based on each person’s preferences

Exactly this. The Pioneer ecosystem is the most stable and consistent around and infintely better than Denon and their engine rubbish.

It just had one unique feature. As of now it doesn’t compete with denon as of yet

The speaker should come with the controller for that price

Lets take the speaker the transmitter could be added and would boost sales of the speaker by knowing the capability is there to be used but they had to put it appart hehe.

They should have put the transmitter inside the duo. That would have sold the speaker giving you a reason to buy both! Who is working in the marketing department over there đŸ€ŠđŸŸâ€â™‚ïžđŸ€ŠđŸŸâ€â™‚ïžđŸ€ŠđŸŸâ€â™‚ïž

For now i wont be getting it. I wanted to buy it but last night i was at a bar gig and had forgotten my external drive for serato at home. Luckily i had my numark pro go in my car. With beatsource i did my whole set through streaming. If i had the duo as back up i would be essentially fucked. Yes i dont have the booth output but there is work arounds on that. Pioneer missed the mark and also the price it preetty steep. Its good looking and i love the colour and design. The light mode would have been implemented better imo.

    • @TheFunkloft
      @TheFunkloft Pƙed hodinou

Why? You could have your collection on a SD card permanently in the device. Relying on streaming is pretty risky as well.
