  • A solid solution for getting anyone, anywhere, a review device. Is this a perfect monitor? No. It's always best to have clients in-person. But this is an affordable, portable, and reasonably accurate screen when a client has no professionally calibrated review device easily available.

On my 12.9” iPad Pro, there’s a Reference Mode toggle specifically for this (under Display & Brightness > Advanced). It actually adjusts and locks controls to brightness, Night Shift, white balance, True Tone, etc to replicate color calibration. I’m not sure if the 11” iPad Pro has that same feature as 12.9” as the displays are different between the two.

Hi Barrett! Fellow colorist here, I have tried to replicate a similar setup with an iPad Pro 11 inch but have found a pretty major gamma difference (iPad blacks are very crushed) between the iPad and my DM250 when I have resolve set to rec709 gamma 2.4 as the output color space. Is this not an issue you are seeing? After speaking to Black Magic they recommended using Rec709-A as the output color space but I have seen multiple other colorists post about using gamma 2.4 with accurate results. Curious to hear your experience!

I haven't run across that issue, but I've only used it with the most recent gen 11inch iPad Pros. There's a chance different models react differently
