if i ever get there (hope springs eternal) I really want to take in a cricket game in Caribbean the stadiums I see at the T20 World Cup were mostly built for the 2007 50 Over World Cup and not as atmospheric as the ones from yesteryear but still would love to take in the atmosphere. I remember getting up early for school in 1991 I think it was to watch Australia get thumped by the West Indies with Patrick Patterson, Ambrose and Marshall coming in at a million miles an hour. Those were the days the grounds appeared on TV like caldrons without a spare space to stand or sit! thanks for watching!
Just watching this MCG Tour video and having lived in Melbourne most of my 50 odd years you mentioned that wonderful knock by Vivian Richards back in 1984, and would you believe I actually remember sitting in the upper deck of what is the Ponsford Stand now all day during that test match, watching Richards bat all day to finally reach his 200. I’ll never forget that innings. Now.days as a Hawthorn FC member I often sit up on the second tier of the Ponsford Stand, looking around at how much the venue has changed, very much for the better I guess, although I did enjoy back in the 1980s when you could take a polystyrene esky full of cans into the old Bay13 and wow, it got wild. Enjoying the video.
MCG is amazing. Its our wish to visit there someday and watch live match. Malborne has so much to offer and worth visiting for. Thanks for sharing the tour and motivate us more to visit there.
This looks like a great tour! I actually have never seen a game of cricket played before (on tv or in person) but it looks like it would be a great experience in a place like this. That stadium is massive as well! Another thing to add to my list if I ever get to Melbourne.
Andy we know nothing about cricket but this stadium looks huge. The tour is interesting you get to see behind the scenes too. Those long jumps whatttt that's unbelievable. The library looked fascinating I bet you enjoyed this tour.
