If you wanna buy X-Men: Fatal Attractions, you can! amzn.to/376NO9b
This book should have been called 'Fatal Extractions'
@@cliffsharp1771 >>>>>
Actually, I wanted to buy that "ONSLAUGHT" omnibus, but couldn't find it anywhere at the time I had money...
(To be fair, pretty much ANY X-men omnibus I'd probably buy...)...😅
So uh..... this got adapted.
Magento was doing "Steiner Math" when Rogue kissed him. "Even with you taking 50% of my powers, I have 100% of my powers all the time. The numbers don't lie and they spell disaster for you. "
Damn, he didn't even have to add Kurt Angle to the mix
This is one of the best comments I’ve seen in 20+ years of being on the internet
“The odds drastic go down”
Big bad magnus daddy!!
Magneto: *Murders tens of thousands of people and rips out Wolverine's adamantium skeleton*
Charles: "Aw fuck, I can't believe you've done this."
Also Charles: "Time to make you relive the Holocaust." :D
Here after magneto took wolverine’s adamantium in x-men 97
I’m still in shock
For Wolverine, every relationship ends up being a fatal attraction
Ba dum tish!
That comment deserves a *guitar sting*
Hey, be fair now. It's not like he kills all of them... sometimes he just outlives them.
@@lorehammer40k4 none of them have managed to die of natural causes
@@TupocalypseShakur The man is, what? 200 years old? I'm sure at least a few of his girlfriends have managed to die naturally. Either way, at the very least it's safe to assume there is at least one infamous villain in the Marvel universe known as "Natural Causes" who has had a run in with Wolverine, right?
Who’s here after X-Men 97 episode 9???
"Fatal Attractions is the end result of Chris Claremont leaving the title". Very good description.
But he didn't leave because he was doing too much. He left because he lost control to the Artists who had become so popular. Marvel chose the Artists over Claremont because of that moment in time where Artists were insanely hot, so Claremont left and the storylines started to flounder immediately, and then the artists who had control left to form Image very quickly and X-Men lost any remaining continuity.
Yessss I love when ComicPop does classic 90s X-Men. Guess I'm not getting any work done for the next hour
Maybe you could’ve just gotten your work done first
"Maybe You could've just gotten Your work done first"
But in order to get it, I have to hear Sal tell me the X-Men are dumb and stupid for the entirety. I guess it will have to do. I want a Tiffany to do X-Men. She's a tadd more respectful of Marvel. Sal is more D.C..
Sorry we don't fawn over your absolute favorite thing in the whole world. It happens. Doesn't mean "Sal is more DC" whatever that means.

Man back issues has been on point banger after banger. 2020 sucked but back issues/ comic pop been on a roll i thought we had one of the longest episodes with hox and pox but then ending 2020 starting 2021 with A 3 hr doomsday clock back issues, the month long spoooooky halloween, the Christmas present of annihilation, trouble and so many events and stories, stories ive never heard of, didn't get to check out and some I've been anticipating . Much love to the comic pop team and the population❤️ road to a much deserved 100k!!
i said the same thing on sal's 90k tweet. 2020 back issues has had some of the all time best. just keeps going up. i have a best back issues playtlist and it wouldn't surprise me if near half of them came from 2020.
@@flywheelshyster ive seen each episode of back issues so many times so i like to go through and watch other people's playlist mix it up so just added ypur play list to my library lol
@@vidalruiziii1245 😆 thats awesome bro, thw POPulation is the coolest
Oh yeah. Its funny how Many comic fans there are, but Comic PoP has only 90k subs. That is a true crime. This channel is amazing and a lot of hard work goes into the debate of art and creativity. I tell Every One I know about this channel. Never retire a classic.
Grandma's soap opera programs were Guiding Light and The Young & Restless. My soap operas growing up were X-men: TAS and Spider-man: TAS.
Electromagnetism as in the whole spectrum, as in one of the four scientific fundamental forces of the universe. 90s Magneto was ridiculously broken when convenient, being able to breathe in space, heal, generate a quasi-telepathic shield, and many other thing, all with his powers.
Bruh I watched this video two days ago…
The timing with ‘97 is nuts
In the beginning of X-men 97, I thought they were setting up Age of Apocalypse but now I wonder if there setting up Onslaught.
Sal often seems to not care for the bone claws "reveal", but I always thought it made sense for him to just have natural claws that were laced with metal like the rest of his skeleton, rather than Weapon X just deciding to give a guy with a healing factor metal claws. I think I recall in the original Weapon X miniseries they just injected him full of adamantium; if I'm remembering right, it was never really indicated that they crafted the claws that sprung from his hands.
I know that at least in the 90s cartoon, wolverine directly says his claws aren't a mutant ability. It was while in the savage land I think, and his mutant powers didn't work. He says something like "there's nothing mutant about these", and pops them out.
@@JohnClark-tt2bl well that would be the case even as them being his powers as they are a physical mutation that he has always had
Oh snap until you just mentioned screwing with Wolverine I never put together that the ninties Marvel was largely. "Hey Wolvy and Spidey are our most popular people let's destroy them.,... You know to get new fans."
When you have to stop watching back issues to watch back issues
Thats a great thing when it happens. I love rewatching videos just as they post a new video.
when i think of "reading comic as a kid" i think of this book. I remember this being this biggesdt fucking thing and i remember begging my mom to buy it for me at the grocery store, which was where i was getting x-men [basically the choices were x-men, spiderman, batman and superman books. the occasional venom or similar side character treatment until the LCS finally opened up by the time i was a teenager]. i've read wolverine 75 and X-men 25 so many fucking times. i can still visually see wolverine reaching and saving Jean from flying out of the blackbird as its going down and the whole book had been this one intense fucking medical drama with charles and jean trying to keep logan alive while the blackbird barely staying in the air. like a movie really. more than any other book.
its special to me i guess you could say
Yes Sir!
I miss the piano on the current episodes. Come on Sal bring it back bro
*shakes head* I expected more from Colossus and Magneto. Way to make a child's funeral depressing.
Blame Magik she's the real reason why the funeral is so depressing.
Episode 9 X-men 97 anyone??
This was THE event that was happening when I first started reading comics. If there was any book I'd feel confident in giving the "Back Issues" treatment, it would be this.
Number of graphic novels purchased since starting Back Issues: 70.
This episodes going to get a big influx of views for the next few days…!
Man we live in a world with a good fatal attractions adaptation now
"We're gonna roll in and take shit over" is quickly becoming my favorite running gag
This episode was Xcellent!!! I Xtremely enjoyed watching this. You guys passed all my Xpectations with this story. 👍😂✖️❌✖️
I love how this and the Death of Superman came to be the same way.
Some guy is always joking about this one idea and then one day they are so out of ideas everyone decides to do it.
I’m SHOCKED Ben didn’t leap at Exodus being “Pink, Powerful, with a Hard-On for Magneto.”
40:52 I was picturing Magneto's reaction being like in the old FF cartoon when Reed Richards defeats him with a wooden gun.
I’m about to have to drive an hour and 15 minutes home, I was praying that you guys posted, and here it is from 17 minutes ago! Every week this is just what I need. I appreciate you guys more than you know
This series of book covers always stands out in my mind. It was a game-changer for a while.
Since I left my job today and the elections are over, I needed this Back Issue today.
Excellent, another Back Issues. Just curious, since you guys have done Ultimate Spider-Man and the Ultimates, any chance we might see Back Issues for Ultimate X-Men or even Ultimate Fantastic Four? I thought Ultimate X-Men was quite good for a period of time with issues #1-65, and Ultimate Fantastic Four was good in the earlier issues, from #1-18, Annual #1, and #21-32.
You should do the episode where apocalypse puts the adamantium back in next. Could be a nice closed loop
I actually always used to wonder why Magento didn't do anything about Wolverine sooner... It didn't really make sense to me, that the "Master of Magnetism" would continue to ALLOW a person who had no qualms about potentially killing him, whom he could fairly easily stop, to continually make trouble for him... Either he continuously forgot about the metal inside Wolverine, or he has the restraint of a saint!...
Come now Sal, obviously Magneto magnetized his gaping wounds to close themselves immediately after being slashed open by Wolverine lol
As a kid I got into X-Men shortly before this event, maybe a year or two before at most, and I loved it. I used the trading cards and cheap back issues to figure out the history and by the time this happened I was fully into it.
Yeah you guys are on fire! Annihilation, Fatal Attractions, etc. Great stuff on Back Issues
I'll be honest here. I genuinely thought you guys had already done fatal attractions. Maybe I've heard sal talk about Magneto ripping out wolverines adamantium so many times I just assumed you already did this. Lmao. Looking forward to this one!!
Between Colossus's head, Wolverine's adamantium, and just Magneto in general, this was the original Marvel Metal.
Genesis, X-Cutioner's Song, and Fatal Attractions were my stories as a 8-10 year old kid. I felt like the X-men were my family and that's almost exclusively due to Claremont's writing.
Anytime comic pop does a 90s X-men story, it’s always a fun time!
I'm here for the good vibes and the good stories I get the chemistry between u guys it's amazing and I also love Tiffany when she's on back issues and off the rack stuff to I'm just a massive comic pop fan
Had to come back after seeing X-men 97 lol I love how they did it.
I love how Comic Pop is blowing up now ,its well deserved ! Keep Growing
This storyline was the straw that broke the camel's back for me back in the 90s. I quit reading for about 7 years after this. Great episode which accurately explains what was going on with the X-Men at the time.
You do a good job of making Magneto sound like a sadistic bully.
A Back Issues has never made me want so many gifs so quickly before
11:18
19:26 _Fyutcha_
26:38 *somebody* make this one happen
Ethans snark in this episode was completely on point /golf clap
28:31 X-Men: Xpostion would have been an AWESOME x-title!
And also instead of Fatal Attraction, they could of called it X-caltion considering how the story keeps escalating 😅
I have a Wolverine 75 hologram cover. Bone claw reveal. One of my favorite books.
You know..it should've been called Fatal....Xtraction...Get it?....geeet it??..Good Night everybody!
I wanna know Iron Man's perspective of when magneto shorted out all the technology.
Love the X-men, and I love your coverage of it. I like that you make fun of the cheesiness without malice. It’s fun to chuckle at the drama.
Just picked up and read Grant Morrison’s New X-men- it was crazy and would make a fun back issues.
Man, I remember this. Me and my friends were just like, "WOAH."
Ahhhh 90s xmen comics. Wild stories and crazy art.
For my money, the Marvel episodes, Especially the X-Men Back Issues videos are always the funniest. Looking back on them, so much of The X-Men was ridiculous.
90s Xmen as soon as ComicPoP hits 90k subs, I see you Sal Pacino
Can you guys please discuss a Donny Cates' Venom story like his first arc, "Rex", or Absolute Carnage due to King in Black happening?
40:00 Didn't Ronald Regan have a similar U.S. defense plan to this called "Star Wars"? XD
Another thing that followed from this (aside from the crappy noseless Wolvie) was that the mindwipe Xavier did to Magneto was the catalyst for Onslaught.
As soon as I started the video the X-Men animated Theme came in my head again. Thanks ComicPop love that theme.
Big fan of yours Comicpop, I've been watching you guys since I worked at a job that was a back breaking job, and I watched you guys afterwards to brighten my day.
As much as I love the more current Back Issues this is a true back issue.
Magneto knows Steiner Maths?
31:34 colossus is like " I know, I can't turn it off cause of the dent" 🤕👈. 😂😂😂
X-Men Evolution was the top X-Men and one of the top Marvel shows! Best rendition of Scott and Jean and most of the team! X-Men Evolution and Spectacular Spider-man!
Congrats on reaching 90k now we're on the road to 100k🎉🎉🎉
Nothing better than in the midst of Sal explaining convoluted storyline he says "Oh, whatever!!!!"
Man, if we're really going down a road, where Peter In any way leaves behind his personhood As Peter Parker, it would be such a cool time to bring in all that manic black suit symbiote Codepenicy
I...Am Venom?
More x-men more often 🙌🏼
Who else remembers the episode of X-Men The Animated Series based off this episode?
I know I’m late to this episode but I wanted to take the time to remind everybody that thanks to this event it took marvel 8 years to restore Wolverine’s Adamantium skeleton. Never Forget.
The real question is who will be the Jubilee of the 2020s ?
It seems like everyone is afraid to make one
I just need to say that I completely misread the title as "Magneto Pulls out of Wolverine! | X-Men: Fatal Attractions" and that stupid reason made me laugh so hard I felt everyone needs to know!
All I have to say is. Everyone has their own opinion. Mine is, I loved and miss Nicieza and Lobdells X Men. I started reading these characters with X Men 1.
31:50 I remember having the same reaction when I read my first omnibus
X-men, daredevil, captain America, spider-man, black panther and black widow are absolutely my favorite characters from marvel. The X-men and associated characters alone gives you an entire universe of characters😂
Colossus heel turn had me shook
Ethan's prequels references always kill me.
Does that mean you’ve conquered death too?😂
The beginning of Onslaught
Magneto-math still gets me lol
It’s not like when Geoff John’s tries to approximate Alan Moore
-line of the year
I’ve always been a sucker for X-Events!
great way to start my morning! love comic pop!
Finally!! Fatal Attractions is on Comic Pop and its going to be a Fun and Awesome time 🔥🔥🔥
About time someone covers this. Keep up the great work y'all.
I know I am a year late in commenting this video but I am going through the paylists on Comic Pop while I'm at work. I am probably in a small group of people that loves and is a huge fan of John Romita Jr's Art. He is one of if not my favourite artist for comics especially when drawing Spider-Man, but i guess its not for everyone. When Ethan made that look on one of the pages with colossus in it and made an expression with disgust my heart sank 🤣🙏🙈😬 still love you guys though and you get me in tears with laughter every time! Keep up the amazing work loving it so far! Ciao from London!
Hey, you know at least one of us loves it! 😉
@@comicpop glad to hear😀 and thanks for reply you guys are true legends!
I would love to see you guys do the Rogie and Gambit mini series. I thought it was just a fun title but I bet you all could make it even better
The kiss from Rogue is also meant to soften the offense. She cares about him and she wants him to know that even as she tries to subdue him.
Shocked Sal didn't bring up this being the (retconned) birth of Onslaught
Everyone knows that.
Starting off 2021 with a great episode
Yet another banger from the comic pop crew
Isn't Magneto's helmet being his main defense against telepathy mostly a movie thing? I thought he just had trained defenses, like Doom.
I'm just saying, when soaps are good, they're really good (Dark Shadows, Dynasty, etc.).
YES I luv this story! Comic Pop rules!!!
X-Men is a soap opera; 90's TAS & X-Men: Evolution are my Young & The Restless. I hope the new movies build up to Magneto, he's too good to just throw in as fanservice (you have Mesmero or Unus for that).
Using Magneto isn’t just for fan service, but it was cool in X-Men: Evolution to build up to him. Ian McKellen was perfect as the character along with Fassbender.
I've still got my copy of the issue with mags removing the adamantium. Unfortunately that then led into wolverine and his bone claws....ugh.
What a great way to start my day.
Great episode BUT WE NEED MORE SAGA!
How the flying fuck did Magneto go back to being a hero after the events of this story? I know that happened years later but still.
First Back Issues of the new year.
