Who else came here because their coach won't fit through the front door and they needed to get it through the back sliding door
How big is your Coach?!
@@MFTusay Tell him to eat more salad
😂😂😂😭😭😭 it’s not even my couch. Or sliding door
Refrigerator but yea 🤣
Currently looking at my couch sit outside
This video was a lifesaver! My friend moved into a new apartment and when the movers couldn’t figure out how to get her couch inside I came here to find out how to remove the sliding glass door. In less than 30 minutes it was off, the couch was in, and the door was back on. Thank you so much for making this easy to understand!!
7 years later, this video got my new fridge inside my house! Thanks Shannon!
Just noticed this was from 5 1/2 years ago. It's funny how we can put something out there...it may seem like no one notices or cares--and then BOOM! exactly what I needed and love it--what you did that long ago touched me and my life because you put it out there. that's what I tell the folks in the ministry---it may be ages before someone notices a seed that we put out...but eventually--someone does notice. What they do with it is their choice--but they do something with it. This just proves this.
Me in 2024 needing to remove a sliding door ❤

One of the best done "How To" videos I have ever watched. Well spoken, good info, good camera work!! Thanks!
This person videos are all excellent. Good job. Thanks!

I only really needed the first 5 minutes of this video to accomplish my particular project, but I watched the whole thing because it was so well done, thank you!
Literal lifesaver. Couldn't get our brand new door off. But after this video I was able to remove the door and install new rollers and track. Thank you so much!
This guy helped on out on so many projects. He needs his own show on HGTV...
I am sooooooooooooo glad I stumbled upon this video !!! My wife has wanted me to clean the fixed panel (door) frame for years and so I removed all the screws I THOUGHT were holding it in but I couldn't get it to move. So after watching your video I am going to remove the sliding door and then clean the stationary one. A total new perspective/approach to the problem.
Hi Shannon, a quick message to THANK YOU very much for all of your great videos. Clear instructions, detailed explanations and great topics. You're a bloody legend mate!
7 years later this video is helping my window cleaning business. Thanks
Been trying to get my door off the frame for days. Luckily I found your video. Who knew those screws lowered the door... did the trick right away
Thanks , Shannon. I may have been ten years ago that you posted the video, but it was very useful to me. Glad I checked it ooooooot!
Wow ,I built a kitchen island but couldn’t get it in the house, it’s been in my garage for 6 months now I can take off my sliding door and get it in my kitchen, thanks for the video
Just gave me a huge help again Shanon. You’ve helped me installing all my windows last year and now replacing my garden door. GOD bless you and your family man.
This is the best video on removing sliding glass doors, Its the only one that shows how to take the door out without removing the stationary one, and to pull it inside the house to work on replacing the rollers. Thank you so very much! Your camera guy is very steady and close up, really appreciated!!! I've watched a lot of them this is the best!!!
Like in the videos of This Old House where they skip some parts lmao
Oh man, you told me exactly what I needed to do to fix my door that wouldn't slide. I didn't know those holes were there to adjust the sliding hardware. Raised my hardware, slides like a charm again. Thanks!
That was a wonderful demonstration! I have a fridge being delivered tomorrow and you just demonstrated precisely what I needed to know to bring it into the house and more. I now feel confident I can replace the sliding glass door. Super cool! Thank you!
Thank you Shannon for always explaining everything very clearly and calmly. I'm a regular DIYer / Handyman and can easily grasp the how to's of doing most things and when I can see it and simply understand it then I know I can do it even if I've never done it before, like replacing an entire Garage door, tracks and all. I of course learned it a got great confidence in my ability to do that job after watching you do it, so thank you very much for that, as well as many other projects. I know this patio door video is pretty old but my fixed door (not the sliding half) has that foggy condensation and staining in-between the glass and everyone (on youtube ) says it can't be fixed and you just have to replace the whole glass, so I'm thinking I might have to replace my whole door because I don't know how to remove the glass on a door like this. So I am watching this video in case I have to replace the door. What do you think? Thanks in advance. Keep up all the great work.
We had to remove our sliding door to bring in a large sofa. We had never removed a sliding door before. This video made the job easy and prevented any damage by our inexperience. Thanks, Shannon!
Concise and easy instructional. Thank you, Shannon. For someone like myself, who really has little, if any, experience in home improvement projects, these instructionals help ease a lot of worry and answer many questions that I would otherwise overthink.
Brilliant -
Very well done...I wish that ALL CZcams videos were this concise!
Thank you so much for making this video. Your delivery and filming was pretty much perfect being careful but not overlong.
I'm actually going to fill this frame with just one large window - with a seating spot below, as I don't need access out.
Any place I've lived before, I have always been able to remove the sliding patio door, usually its pretty simple. The house I bought 3 years ago needs work on the patio door and I've been scratching my head, for longer then I would like to admit, trying to figure out why I can't remove the door. Watching the first 2 minutes of your video helped me so much. Thank you!
Only needed to see the first 5 mins, but was captivated and watched the whole thing.
The Canadian demeanor is just so lovely...at least from the accent he sounds Canadian…anyway, excellent clip! Right now, my sliding door feels super heavy, and not being that handy, I couldn’t figure out how to pop it out to clean the tracks (even though they look pretty dang clean, or whatever. I had no clue you could adjust the height of the hardware under the door.
This is going to be super helpful. I’ve got a weekend project that shouldn’t take much time at all. THANK YOU from Ohio.
Yes ,I am Canadian
Always happy to see you when I'm looking for advice...You're a great teacher! Thanks
First time homeowner here. Your videos have been a fantastic help in saving me money. I appreciate it. Also if you decide to branch into auto mechanics for a sub series of videos called maybe AutoImprovements and need a mechanic/consultant dont forget to reach out! 😁
Thanks for the videos. They are so helpful. And kudos to whoever runs your camera. It is steady and not distracting. Just the right amount of zoom in/out.
Thank you so much for sharing your expertise with us! We're pretty clueless about DIY but we needed to remove the doors to move in a custom bench and we were having no luck, until we found you. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
I keep seeing your vids when I need help, might as well subscribe. This is probably the most common sliding door in the industry, the procedure is well explained as always, and no unnecessary reading ! There are a lot of videos for this job on YT...this one is at the top of the search results for a reason.
Thanks for the sub!
Over a million views. You are easing the suffering of others. Namaste.
Good job for a instructional video. K.I.S.S. Easy to follow, and I could understand the instructions. THANKS…..
Thanks for sharing the idea of drilling the nail heads.
I fell on the floor some years ago and was unable to get up and spent 10 hours on the floor going in and out of consciousness. I was in acute kidney failure. My son in another state had called the police to make a check when he could not get in touch with me. The police came they took the sliding door apart to come in. I am not sure how they did it though. It looks like quite a bit of work! After 1 week in hospital & 3 weeks in a rehabilitation I came home. I’m fine thanks to the police!
16:04 That face you make when you remember the thing you are prying on the bottom of is no longer attached at the top. LOL
Found this when looking to just remove the doors to move furniture. Incredibly helpful, thanks so much
Thank You So Much for showing me how to take off the sliding door. I need to fix the weatherstripping on it. Appreciate you for this video!!

I like the drilling the nail heads tip. Nicely done, sir!
I appreciate how detailed you are
My door had just dropped but watched it all nice to watch someone else working 😜
Wow! It says my post was 7 hours ago. been home prob an hour (from the job site) but my, my son, and my g-son got'er done. And frankly, i thought the basics would be obvious...but there were two things while watching your video, and I am like...I didn't know that..and I didn't know that either! Can't thank you enough! We would've been stumped part way thru and would have had to give up and put it back together. (the whole unit--someone had put it in backward). I'm subscribing and seeing if you have any more videos I need to watch! :-) God bless you many times over.
Great video! I'm doing the exact same project with my new house (glass door removal, french door install). Thanks!
The guys' a legend. Always so helpful
Great video as always, thanks for showing how to do this if you are keeping the siding. So helpful!
Very helpful. I need to remove the panels from my sliding door in order to move a large piece of furniture into a room. This video makes it look easy.
Best introduction to a how to video ever
Thanks for the expert advice. Especially on how to deal with stucco exterior.
Just did this and this helped so much! Those doors are HEAVYYYYYY
Thank you for showing us how to remove our glass sliding door, Very helpful.
What an entrance there. Like watching tv.... Also, you make this stuff look so easy.
This is the perfect instructional video for me. I have to replace the fixed side of our patio, this makes it so easy to understand. Thank You!
Glad to help
Love the video! Nice job! Sure helps the apprentice with the knowledge needed for remodel work.
If I may interject my two cents - I'm usually under time constraints so, I use a skill saw and dive into the middle of the jamb, then pry the jamb in two and pull the unit out. This takes a few minutes and your ready for the new install.
Yes that absolutely speeds things up. A recip. saw works well for that cut also.
Thank you ever so much, will be doing a pair in the morning.
David in England.
Thank you for this video. Very well done. I have to remove a 96" wide door and then replace it with a new door of the same size. This video will be a big help.
very informative video..I'm planning on doing this exact door swap on my house and you pretty much covered everything I need to know. well done
Your instruction and filming made it very clear for us to understand how to do this. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us!
Thanks for watching!
Thanks, man! One of my rollers came loose, and I was removing every possible wrong screw trying to get to it until I clicked on this video. The first three minutes of this video set me straight, and the job is now done.

This is how a video should be done! Good job!
Excellent video! Shannon thank you so much for this fantastic How-To. I just had a lawn mower+rock incident and I was dreading what it might take to have to replace the entire unit, frame and all. Thanks to your video it looks like we can save the almost new tract and just replace the broken slider. Awesome.
I need to remove mine because the wood underneath has totally rotted. Thought it looked impossible but after watching this i can give it a shot. Thanks for the help
I need to get a large arcade machine in my basement. Will have to remove this type of sliding glass door. This helped.
That's so much for this. we had a full day mission try to get the door off to rescue my 3 year old news toy. no idea how until watching your video. THANKS!
+Richard Murillo Glad to help
Mate, you just made my wife a very happy woman
I always watch your unique videos, because you are really an expert.
Had to move a 300gal stock pond into the basement for my dwarf caiman and it wouldn't fit through the sliding doors. Your video helped tremendously!
great video. I'm getting ready to remove my sliding door and install a door and window. This video is a big help.
I must say, this is one of the most informative videos I have ever watched. Helped me a lot. Someone broke into my house and broke one of the glass doors, so some of the information wasn't needed in my case since the door was already damaged, but I'm hoping by the end of this weekend I will have a new door put in. Currently waiting on the new door to arrive right now. Not sure what I'm going to do about the siding tho.. will try to update!
Thank you again for your help!!!

This video was very helpful for me to replace the rollers on my sliding glass door.
The only thing that I would have included was where to find roller parts for the door. Thanks for the step by step video.
Thank you SO much. I dropped the locking mechanism inside the door and used this guide to get it out.
Thanks I will be doing my first job Monday!

Shanon, Thanks for your videos. It is really cool that you are patient with the audience. I have learned a great deal from you. Please keep it up. I did have a question, if you had a slider that was leaking water from below, do you have to remove it to fix the leak? Thanks.
