- Happy Friday night! While my favorite Friday night consists of My Neighbor Totoro and learning new songs on the piano, I did that LAST night, so now I'm hitting the town! Watch me get ready while enjoying a plethora of brush sounds, tapping, soft speaking, fabric sounds, nail polish and liquid sounds, and a makeup "tutorial"!

It's easier to detangle your hair if you brush in little sections starting at the bottom and slowly work your way up. This is because when you start at the top, you have all the tangled and knots throughout the whole length of your hair to get through but if you start with the bottom, by the time you get to the top, you won't have as many knots to get through
Gibi! Some hair tips from a fellow knothead!
First of all, consider switching to using a wide-toothed and thin-toothed comb. It may seem like they're too flimsy to get through your hair, but they'll separate strands more neatly and with less damaged to the follicle. Brushes like the one you're using here are actually really bad for your hair - they pull it out and stretch the strand, and ultimately increase split ends.
The next thing I'd recommend is brushing tip to root instead of root to tip. Start at the ends of your hair and gradually comb upwards until you can bring your brush or comb through the whole strand with ease. Leave-in conditioner can help to make the whole process easier, as well (I recommend visiting a Sally Beauty store or checking the products at a salon to find a high quality one, a lot of the drug store brands are chock full of false positive chemicals that don't do anything much for your hair except weigh it down).
I'm no hairdresser, but after having long hair for ten years, and then cutting it all off and bleaching, dyeing, and styling it for the last two or three, there are some of the tricks I've learned to use to deal with the thick Grecian hair I was so generously gifted with by my father's side of the family.

I know this is super old and you'll probably never see this but I have a tip!! Idk if you do this but try brushing your hair before showering. Literally none of my friends do this until I said I did it (maybe this is something people do already???) and when putting in shampoo and conditioner, comb your fingers through your hair. I use a comb after shower and brush through my strands then after drying my hair I go through with a brush. It helps a lot for me!! Less knots. Brush starting at the roots and work your way up.

Hey Gibi here's just some tips for tough knotted hair.
I don't like to use combs a lot so I mainly use a Wet brush, they're really good for your hair and coming out of the shower
You can try to brush your hair after you condition in the shower (if you use conditioner) and it helps once you get out of the shower
You could also try a leave in conditioner and it might help the tangles
I've had really thick tangled hair for forever so I hope this kind of helped you since you help me relax lol.

Use a “Wet Brush” and a frizz ease spray after you get out of the shower and before you take a shower brush your hair to get all the knots out.👍 that’s what I do to not have tangled hair

I had the same problem when my hair was as long as yours. As a rule straight hair gets more tangled than curly hair, and is also more likely to get tangled the longer it gets. Some things that helped me were to brush my hair before I got in the shower, not scrub super vigorously with the shampoo, and comb the ends when conditioner's in it. It also helps a lot to brush the ends and slowly work your way up

The best untangling tip in my opinion coming from a girl who has a head of curly hair is to get a spray bottle and fill it with water and conditioner then shake the bottle so it blends and then use it on your hair so you can brush it out then once your done getting all the knots out use coconut oil ONLY ON THE ENDS OF YOUR HAIR (because if you do it near the top your hair will become oily) but work the oil through your hair. This really helps tame hair and it helps it grow as well
i’m a hairdresser and the only recommendations i have for tangles are to use a detangling spray and, if u feel like u need to, comb thru ur hair w a wide toothed comb when u have ur conditioner in in the shower. so yup. prob doesn’t help but there ya go :)

brush from the bottom up, and for tangles id suggest “its a ten miracle leave in conditioner” in the blue and purple spray bottle, and id invest in a wide tooth comb, using a brush on wet hair can really damage it when its wet, cause split ends because the hair is super fragile and is more elastic wet. also brush your hair before you shower so the tangles are minimized when you get out

If you use a leave-in conditioner that make your hair feel slippery and detangle from the bottom and work your way to the top it wouldn't be so bad. You start brushing and your scalp which pushes all the knots to the ends and makes it hard to get through and more likely to break off your hair which will make it more knotted over time.
Use a detangler and brush from the bottom up in sections, also wet brushes work great for me!

Just a few tips that were life changing for me is to use a 'wet brush' after coming out the shower, it's designed to manage tangled hair after being washed, also, when brushing your hair, wet and dry, it's best to begin from the bottom, this decreases any chance of major fly aways or split ends 💕👩🏻

Brush your hair before getting in the shower always helps me. And I also keep a brush in the shower to brush out shampoo and conditioner. Then when I get out I spray a leave in conditioner but use a comb this time.

i have really tangly hair too. i use a wide tooth comb first to pick it out, then a no tangle brush, then some "moroccanoil" on the ends. i also use enjoy hydrating shampoo and conditioner. ive tried a million things to keep it from tangling and breaking. this worked for me. the invisible oil unfortunately has alcohol in it which makes your hair feel good initially but dries out your hair long term.

Here's some ideas you requested: Comb your hair while it's dry, then shower, spray a thermal protectant if blow-drying, if not, just put in a leave-in conditioner and hair serum (just a little bit is fine). I love the large wide-toothed combs. I rarely use brushes, only large combs. Love your videos! The perfume you used looks like Juicy Couture, not Coach?
So, I noticed that most comments did not help with the hair care difficulties, so I figured I'd help. I have long and thick hair and it can take some time to care for it you don't know much about it or don't do proper care frequently. To help avoid tangles, brush your hair out before showering, then wash well and condition well. Do not condition for too long (depends on what kind of hair you have, trail and error), then when drying it, make sure to get out a fair amount of water by just squeezing out your hair, then wrap with a big t-shirt. It'll help with drying and breathes better than a towel. After that, brush from the bottom up and don't rush it. After doing it a few times, it'll be much easier to tend to your hair.
My hair is really curly and when its tangled, I put a little bit of water, and add a little bit more of coconut oil. It works good on me

Tips for knotty tangled hair: I suggest before you get in the shower brush your hair out so when water hits it it will still be smooth and de tangled. Also when you shower, it may be too little conditioner or not the right one. A lot of conditioners have different effects on hair. Also having a brush in the shower helps. If you ever feel like your hair is getting tangled just brush your hair in the shower when the conditioner is still in your hair, it makes your hair smoother and not as tangles (do it after you get out of the shower as well and wash out your conditioner out with cold water so the water exfoliates the hair). Not sure if this will help since it was a while ago but after you use conditioner in the shower, when you rinse it out use a shower comb while you rinse, then brush your hair right when you get out and dressed or whatever

What I do is brush my hair before a shower, then sometimes during conditioner I will brush it, it makes my hair SUPPPERRRR soft. I also heard that you should try and untangle your hair from the bottom up for a decrease in hair loss!
