- Us Happy Sloppers went to Hollymoorside, Chesterfield on the 29th January 2017 as our first group outing. There were plenty getting stuck and getting stuck in it was great. Nothing major got broken, and a defender rolled which i managed to catch on video!! Jimney nearly rolls and blows a CV Joint.

some incredibly dangerous and bad practice recovery techniques, it's a wonder no one was hurt. never use you bull bar A bar as a recovery point, they are NOT designed for that at all and the torque induced on your chassis mounting bolts is massive. Joining two straps together with a shackle?? OMG is a death waiting to happen. And that's only 5 mins into the vid. It's a good job you've so few subscribers or others would think this is ok.
mechmanau can I ask why it's so wrong to connect two staps with a shackle? As these are lifting straps with no kinetic energy, the shackles are rated to double the breaking strain of the straps. There was no snatching involved I don't see any problem with it.
