Homemade, Foolproof Bagels 🥯🥯🥯

- Bagels require kneading, shaping, boiling, and egg washing. But they can still be easy-ish. I find these to be just that, kind of fun to make, very tasty, and perfectly chewy. A scale + a stand mixer or food processor makes this recipe foolproof. Do plan ahead: the dough requires an overnight rise in the fridge. I love making the dough for this in the afternoon or evening and letting it rise overnight in the fridge; then I shape, boil, and bake in the morning.

Okay this is THE best bagel I have ever eaten in my entire life. I used maple syrup instead of barley malt and they still came out absolutely perfect. So easy as well!
I have to admit… when I tried this recipe … the bagel dough was still sticky when transferring to the poaching barley malt liquid which I’m trying to improve. Aside from that… def making progress 👍🏼

I made these using bread flour and maple syrup instead of the malt syrup. They were soooo good, need to make them again soon

Wonder if can use Date molasses to replace malt syrup?
I used two mcdonalds jelly preserves packets and they had a wonder sheen on them....grape and strawberry.

U can use all purpose flour or bread flour I recommend bread flour
