For people who are moaning about him treating them roughly - he was ringing the babies, which has to be done in the first few days and is necessary for breeders as it's a way to identify them later on. As for when he shows them to the camera? That was nothing, you should see how rough the parents are when they're settling on the babies to incubate them. Baby birds are a lot more hardy than a lot of people are making out and you can tell who has knowledge of breeding them and who doesn't.
How long after the Hen starts gathering material before she builds a nest? My Hen has been gathering bits of string, burlap and grass but flies around with them only to perch then drop it. Is that normal? I am trying to breed a Goldfinch X Canary Mule. ATM they are both paired together and have been awhile.
@netanel296 i agree he was very rough with the 2 chiks, not only that every cage was very dirty. did you see all the bird dropings in the nest. i always try my best to keep everything clean even if it takes a while but it keep bugs out and diseases from spreading.
Sweet vid but be more careful handling the chick you just threw them in your hand those things are fragile (0:53-1:05)!And clean there nests and the cages (1:30-1:40).

@netanel296 He was ringing them and you have to do it before they reach a week in age. So yes, it was necessary.
