  • Discover Principe Real, neighbourhood in Lisbon
This charming neighbourhood Principe Real (translate the name of this neighbourhood it literally means Royal Prince) it has become one of Lisbon’s exclusive districts, with sophisticated shops and restaurants. It’s a quiet residential district, with colourful buildings and mansions turning into some of Lisbon’s most expensive real estate. It’s a tranquil place to relax surrounded by trees, by a century-old kiosk serving refreshments, and several stores, and art galleries.
Amazing places mentioned in the video:
    Miradouro
    Jardim de Principe Real
    Jardim Botanico de Lisboa

I appreciate you and this video on the area that I am staying the month! It’s a beautiful presentation and I love the theme of your channel, as I try to travel a month at a time in different places to figure out if I could life there, imagining my “plan b” (or retirement, is how I put it). Talking to people here, who are from here, I hear a bit of a different story, about the threatened authenticity of the area… and the desire to be able to walk around and speak to people in your own language more (English is on the verge of awkwardly ever-present here)… but at the same time people mostly are welcoming my mix of broken Brazil Portuguese, spanish, and failsafe English . I think if you just try, it bridges the gap. A second thing I thought was off-color was describing principe real as “relatively flat”… not because its is entirely wrong but, if you were to compare this area to even hilly sections of San Francisco it would still count as a very hilly area. Not many people from outside of Lisbon would call this area flat!
