I had accepted long ago that I wouldn't hear any more Jari Ensiferum stuff, the old blackened folk metal style. Lo and behold, the man did it. It sounds so much like the music I grew up with and shows just how much influence Jari had in Ensiferum. I love it.

As a huge Children of Bodom fan, I always wished there would be some hidden collection of music Alexi had made around the Follow the Reaper/Hatebreeder days. @@smote_his_ruin Well, no. That would be horribly unfair to Markus Toivonen (lead guitar), as he and Jari seems to have written most of it together. Jari wrote some songs entirely by himself (like "Token of Time" and "LAI LAI HEI", while Toivonen also did some songs by himself like "Treacherous gods" and "Tale of Revenge"). Jari wrote all the lyrics on both albums though.

Sometimes i go back to records i loved that were lacking of a ' good production ', such as Satyricon - Dark Medieval times. ( First one that i can think of ) But it's incredible how it's still good and I love it. Maybe it's all about the songs? But as a musician\producer, I do understand the need to achive the best production ever.
@@WintersunJari I've been going through literally everything you've made, I can speak for most of us when I say that your big production things are amazing, but EVERYTHING you have done has been amazing. Ensiferum, Arthemesia, Wintersun. I think most of us were just clamoring for MORE of you my man. And holy hell have you delivered on that with this preorder!

I thought I never really cared if we would ever hear Time II because I was so convinced that it wouldn't get released.
Now with this mega release with all the additional stuff, old Ensiferum style songs, songs that are in the spirit of the 1st Wintersun album which we all love so dearly, surprisingly I feel a big sigh of relief.
I guess Wintersun (and Jari's music in general) had a bigger place in my heart than I thought.
What a time to be a Wintersun/Jari fan. Brings a tear to the eye.
Songs and solos are easy to forget, but sweeps stay in the memory forever :D

I bet he would be able to do the solo if somebody woke him up in the middle of the night, gave him any random guitar without any time to form a clear thought and just the first 3 to 5 notes in the right rhythm.
The synapses are always there, the brain just forgets how to access them. But confronted with a chaotic 'panic' situation our brains can still do wonders :D
No one could foresee this. It’s mind-blowing to hear such a melancholy and magical track produced in the 90’s sounds so fitting for today. We all can hear the Black Metal influence but also feel The Path To Where No Band Goes. Amazing!

I am broken! After the long wait and quite honestly losing hope for Time 2, to be getting so much, it is so emotional for me. Hearing this honestly brought me back to standing in my local record store seeing this less than earth-shattering album cover with the name Wintersun on it, and using the old demo headphones they used to have so you could hear the first 30 seconds of an album. My life changed in that moment forever and THAT is what I just felt again. If this is at all an indication of what we have to look forward to on the old demos . . . I am literally crying. I would pay for the package now even if Time 2 weren’t included!!!! Please keep these little previews coming, Jari! It’s like having oases on a long road through the desert! You are the GOAT without a doubt!

I understand why everyone is so eager for Time II-but I also _really_ like this older stuff. "New old stock" music from one of your favorite artists is a rare opportunity. I would probably have ordered the demos separately.
Sounds interesting even if it's a demo. Not surprising but it sounds like early progressive Wintersun - blackened vocals and atmospheric - and I really can not dislike that.

I do feel like it'll miss that 90s rawness if you fully re-record it. So I'd say: let Kai record the drums and remaster the original vocals and instruments (if Jari still has the isolated tracks ofcourse).

Absolutely fantastic, this raw production is perfect for the melodic black sound, it feels sincere, direct, unaffected. shimmering synths and orchestrations are cool and everything, but this has the biggest character and heart, I am so happy you decided to share demos like this

I love all the stuff you showed for Time II, The Way of the Fire sounds incredible; And I can't wait for Silver Leaves; And The Dragon Song on the unreleased Fantasy Metal Project is just glorious! I feel like I'm a kid on Christmas morning lol!
The interesting thing is, I initially found your music because about 10 years ago, I was typing into CZcams search, viking metal and fantasy metal, and Ensiferum came up, and I loved it, but then someone was saying you have your own separate band called Wintersun, and I checked that out, and was blown away! I remember thinking, "This is the kind of metal I have searched for for years!" I have always wanted to listen to a 'fantasy metal' kind of music and that's how I see your music. Epic Fantasy Metal! I can't wait to hear all of the Fantasy Metal Project album! :D

This is so cool, the 90s synths and drum machine sound. I wasn't born yet but it really does remind me of a completely different time. This song in particular reminds me of Summoning a bit at times with that hypnotizing riff and drum machine sound, but with a more finnish melancholic sound. Looking forward to hear more!!

WOW, this song is awesome! The drum machine actually sounds really cool with this and your vocals here are AMAZING, very black metal.
