I stopped buying fabric softener, sheets and liquid years back. It leaves a film on your clothes. The extra chemicals that we don’t need sitting on and seeping into our skin, can’t be good for us. Fabric softener, if used on towels, makes them less absorbent also. I only use liquid laundry detergent in my washer. I also use Dawn soap only for stains, works much much better than stain stick/spray.
A brand name fabric softener has formaldehyde as an ingredient. I’ve been using only vinegar as my fabric softener for a couple of years and it works well. There are so many natural ingredients we can use everyday.

I really rarely follow recipes but love to collect them, as well as cook books. I do get ideas from enjoying reading them. You're too young to remember Jeff Smith, "The Frugal Gourmet" who had a TV show, but I'm grateful to have a collection of his books my mom gave me over the years. He wrote about the origins and history of foods and how many recipes were actually created out of necessity when cost was a huge factor and/or some things were hard to come by.
I went to one of mine the other day in Ky and the prices 1.25, 2.50,3.00,3.50,4.00,4:50,5.00. And it was All through the store I had to watch and make sure what I was getting was a 1.25.
That cookbook is a steal. Dollar Tree does* have good books and they are definitely all steals! My best Dollar Tree find period so far is actually a book! I found "19 Love Songs" by David Leviathan omfg I died! I love it and it was originally $20 but I got it for $1.25! Still makes me happy and I reread that book all the time! ♥️

What's weird is there are a few smaller cities in my state that just got Dollar Tree. Every DT in my town is always busy. The reading glasses are also a dollar fifty. I don't know what I'd do without the DT.
Walmart plates are cheeper than 1.25 plus you get more.. Sunglasses/glasses and balloons are 1.50 here too its our 1.25 liters of name brand of soda is also 1.75.. Rest of stuff it 1.25 we just got this year the PLUS section so i have been looking for those tier trays but haven't. Seen them YET good haul. I heard the reason why they are shutting them down was because of rats getting into the storeage places so I would recommend washing things down just in case DON'T need to get sick!!!!! I luv cookbooks got alot of signed ones and Wish i can get one Tracey Morgans neice i met her she lives here in my area i guess he came to do some event in my town And i would get for gifts,the slipppers are ok like the other ones like them had a slit really comfortable thanks for the haul!
The crayola sponges would be awesome with the crayola bath paint for the littles , definitely gonna lookout for them for mine bc they would have a blast !!!
Our dollar tree in Illinois has adapted the Dollar General concept. They no longer have the main area for the increased price products in their dollar plus section. The increased price items are throughout the store in all isles. There are different prices for medication‘s, food,hosiery and Bath and body care items and many other items. I’m not really sure what the concept is or why the change it is quite confusing. They have also installed two price scanners so that you can check and verify prices before you purchase.
I was sooo excited when I saw those new slides - until I tried one on - they are so wide my foot went clear through, and my foot is not considered narrow - such a disappointment! I still have some from before and they were much nicer. Not sure why they made them so wide - will only fit a small portion of people. Thanks for the video!

I think it's mostly Family Dollar stores closing as they're the same owner as DT, which is now adding the "Plus" sections and raising prices on some things. I haven't seen price increases here in 'Southern CA, but I haven seen more name-brand things or larger containers of things at higher prices. The food items I''ve seen have been higher-priced than the grocer stores!
A couple of my DT's have price scanners attached to their walls around the store. I've seen some food items in my DT's for $3.25-$4, as well as some drinks for $1.75 and up. They could have just left those items to sell in other dollar stores like Family Dollar and Dollar General.

1/2c of white vinegar in the rinse cycle softens my clothes nicely.
