- My experience with gastroperesis and getting a J-Tube Feeding Tube. Feeding Tube Awareness Week 2023.
After 8 months of not eating well and suffering from forcing my self to eat I had a feeding tube placed. Thanks to this feed tube I have had for the last 5 months I have regrind some of the weight I lost and am getting the nutrients I desperately needed.

I'm glad you got your feeding tube and you're feeling better so sorry you had to go through that they should have put it in sooner. ❤
Thanks, I have also been going to the hospital 3 times a week for IV fluids since July
I go 3 times a week to a infusion clinic too.

Radioactive eggs, damn man. Glad your getting better and continue. I had acute pancreatitis this past February and thought that was rough. Stay well!
Thanks
Radioactive eggs. Hope this year is better than last.
Thank You, Me Too.
my wife has something similar, how many times did someone family or friend come up with go vegan, have you tried yogurt, all natural foods, and so on
Only once... I shut that down really fast.
How bad does it hurt? I had 1 in my nose(ng) & that was really miserable! It made me sicker & had it taken out 24 hours later. They have talk abt a G/J feeding tube for me but I'm scared. What do u have again?
So I never had a NG tube, with my gastroparesis we knew I needed something long-term. Did a lot of talking with the surgeon and we decided to do a J-Tube. It is a little bit more involved surgery but with a J-Tube it cant flip. A G/J the "J" part can commonly end up working its way out of the intestines and back into the stomach.
So, my surgery experience take with a grain of salt, I was severely malnourished. The surgery went well but the next 3 week it felt like I had a broken rib. I was very sore and it was hard to use your muscles on that side. It goes away in a few week and now I dont even notice the tube.
Can u eat at all?
Not really, If I try, I end up feeling really sick.
