Cousin 🤗 my great grandmother grandmother and mother is from Hugo. I visited and lived there I remember T.J frost market I went to Horace Mann Elementary...my grandmother had 13 children. Woner if we're related. Haven't been back since 83 11th grade
Hugo is a large source of conversation on my group. My mother and my dad's best friend grew up there. I went frequently, but was always slightly wary because of the veiled suspicion of the residents. The events that happened: escaping circus animals, arson, shooting at Walmart, Ed Kaiser shooting Todd Whatley, and general malaise were concerning. There were encouraging aspects: the train depot, Aonsley Park, Rose Holl. My. Olivet Cemetery. Erie Theatre, circus Drive-In Dairy Queen and the community pool on the extreme west end, close to the cattle pens. For better or worse, my life has been influenced by experiences that I had here. .
I got a bunch of cousins in Hugo. Haven't been there since I was teen. Great Grandmother was from around there. Didn't know Hugo used to be kind of a rough place back in the day.
Unfortunately, there is not an Aldi in Hugo. It is in Paris, TX which is 30 minutes away, not 9 minutes. Also, you managed to find the extreme end of home pricing in Hugo. There are multiple homes in the $100k range or cheaper in the town itself.

I graduated Hugo High School in 1980. I attended Horace Mann for 1 year. My grandmother lived close to T J Frost Market.
In answer to a question early in the video, it was Mrs. Bill Darrough who named the town after Victor Hugo. He was her favorite author.

Used to be? Still is
Paris Texas is more than 8 minutes. It's 40 minutes in an ambulance. I use to live there. Left because of sketchy law enforcement.
My little Hometown
The background music drowns out the narration.
A little heave with the memes.
Hope this helps.
Thanks for posting.
