- Underrated clothing brands and instagram fashion try on haul! Finding size inclusive, ethical, and sustainable fashion can be a struggle, so today I'm trying underhyped clothing brands from instagram to give my brutally honest review on these outfits!
Shopping small businesses and small clothing brands is so fun, so today I'm trying clothing brands that I think deserve more hype! For real... we've been sleeping on these brands! Some of these clothes come in plus sizes, some are ethically produced and sustainable clothing, and some are both! Please let me know in the comments if you have any favorite brands that you think deserve more hype, I'd love to do another try on haul featuring more under hyped clothing brands!

It would be cool to see her do a video of getting clothes professionally tailored. Seeing the difference that could make in some wardrobe basics
That's such a good idea!
Great idea!!
Yes
Could go great with a thrifting/consignment haul!
@@cretasara She's already done a similar video in collaboration with coolirpa: czcams.com/video/KIpWj54h6oY/video.html. 😊
This is literally EXACTLY the type of video we need. I want to buy new clothes that are from small brands, sustainable and ethically made....but honestly the default is to go to (asos, fashionnova etc.) Thank you for this video Sierra!!! So helpful and I wouldn't mind a Part 2 or even Part 3 hehe
I have to suggest using Depop! It’s always sustainable to buy secondhand (make sure they aren’t dropshippers though lol) and I’ve found some really great pieces on there :)
@@almondmelk I second this !!
So true! I bought a suit from peachy keen swim! I love it so much ❤️
@@almondmelk I third this! I use depop for brands I like aesthetically but don't want to buy directly from (e.g. ASOS, urban outfitters)! I've literally found things NWT for way cheaper too & you're supporting individual people.
i was the 1000th like hehe
Slow, ethical fashion is something I really wish I could afford. I know that they last longer and it's an investment, but I really just can't afford clothes like this. Maybe one day when I'm a real adult I'll get pieces like this!
You could try Lucy & Yak. The jeans and bottoms are ~£50 but a lot of the tops are in the £15 range which is H&M pricing. I've seen other brands with similar price points as well, L&Y is just what I can think of off the top of my head. If it's still too expensive then thrifting is obviously the way to go. Lots of my favourite pieces of clothing are from places like depop (I'm in the UK, we have no thrift stores).
You don't need a whole ethical wardrobe to start being more ethical. To be honest, the best thing we can do is reduce consumption all together. The issue isn't with people buying fast fashion who genuinely need the clothes but with the people that binge buy fast fashion they don't need and will end up throwing it away or barely wearing it.
@@duck6100 I've actually heard of them and I would love to try them! But unfortunately, even that is too expensive. I shop at like... Target. But once I start having a more consistent income, that is definitely the kind of place I want to start shopping.
Thrift shopping is great for both not supporting fast fashion AND being budget friendly ❤
Elyse Parker I have been doing a lot of that recently 😄
Even when you’re an adult adult you still won’t be able to justify spending that kind of money when Goodwill looks so good lol. I’m 32 with a great salary and all of my clothes are from Thrift stores!! Reduce, reuse, recycle!
okay im sorry but THAT BLACK WRAP TOP THO OMG SIERRA IT LOOKS AMAZING ON YOUUUUU (even tho you looked amazing in everything else too! BUT DANG THAT TOP
Yeah, right?
Also the brami top. Ethica was great overall.
God bless my wallet though
Sierra- “I really like the blue and white stripes”
Me- surprise surprise
I was hoping someone else noticed that 😂😂😂😂
iykyk
I'm confused, can someone explain?
@@Hi-uj6fx she has an obsession with blue and white stripes
Kiarie Ballard ohhhh right cause she owned like 10 shirts with that print from her closet clean out video 😂😂😂
who else thinks Sierra literally is gorgeous no matter what she looks like or what she's wearing???
Definitely! She's beautiful inside and out 😊
I rarely see her in anything I don't like. And in the rare occasion I do, she agrees.
Shes so gorgeous like wow 🥺💕
even the rainbow fish costume was beautiful in sierra 😂
Agreed! She’s just naturally gorgeous I love watching her because she keeps it real!
The Peachykeen swimsuit is the most gorgeous swimsuit you have tried on all summer. It looks amazing on you. Loved this video so much. I have to go shopping.
Idk if you’ll ever read this but I really appreciate how, as a white person, you realized that you weren’t supporting the black community as much as you could and actually admitted it and made a change. I just think you’re a really good person and I love that you actually started using your platform to donate and hype up black people instead of making excuses. Love you!!💕 Keep being awesome!😊
When Sierra was saying I don’t know about you I instinctively thought of “I’m feeling 22”
Me too!! Especially because yesterday I was singing that during my birthday hahahaha
Mari Brio happy belated birthday!
@@MariBrio omg that is the best song for the occasion 😂 happy bday !! hope your day was amazing 🥳🎂
Awe I listened to that song on my 22nd as well it really set the mood haha. Happy belated birthday! Hope you had a good one :)
Aww, thank you guys 🥰
Another great small brand for clothes is Atomic Wildflower. They are so inclusive with their sizes, love them!
Vero Moda is just a cheap brand well known in Europe. Just like H&M.
Yes, I always get suckered in by their super cute styles but I've had to return every single item because the sizing is all over the place and the quality is not good.
I know. In Norway we have both as seperate stores. I don't really use Vero Moda, but H&M is a favorite of mine.
Not just in Europe, in Canada too
and Vero Moda, Bestsellers and Only are all under the same big brand now which is Bestsellers
It are 20 brands together. From little kids to expensive adult. Men and woman. Not my cup of tea. 😛
Amanda Kristin Steinsåker i don’t know what you meant separate from, but vero moda has separate stores (as in stores selling their brands only) all over europe according to their website
I’d love for you to do side profiles and a back shot of all these clothes. You only ever stand front on. Would be nice to see the full look all the way around.
As a vegan I'm always somewhat skeptical about how fashion blogging impacts our society and environment and I think you are amazingly mindful about this issue. It seems like you genuinely care about making small steps (in and out of fashion) which are sustainable to your life & use your platform to connect viewers with educational resources. Beyond this video I think it's amazing you sell the clothes on poshmark instead of giving them away & then donate the proceeds. Amazing!!! My favorite youtuber.
Sierra wearing literally any top:
I have this untucked for the video but I'm just gonna go ahead and tuck it in because that's how I would normally style it
This is so refreshing to see! I find that most bigger channel youtubers tend to stay along the lines of the main stream brands. I am TIRED and EXHAUSTED of the larger brands and ready to make room for new more sustainable and higher quality (comfort/fit/fabric) clothing. Thank you for this!!
My biggest fear with smaller businesses, especially ones I see on Instagram, is that they are not legitimate or the awkward 'doesn't' look like the picture' moment.
I love this video because it's not only giving a shout out to smaller brands but brands with great messages. Thank you for this!
Same. And I feel like it would be a bigger hassle to return than with bigger companies
Vero Moda (Böhme jumpsuit) is a huge Danish fast fashion brand. I doubt it's ethically produced.
Did she say it's ethically produced?
Vero moda is a danish brand so maybe there have been a mistake translating the sizing since danes uses Eu sizes
I think there was a mistake of translating the sizing. I found the jumpsuit -> www.veromoda.com/dk/da/vm/shop-pr.-kategori/buksedragter/striped-culotte-jumpsuit-10227839.html?cgid=vm-jumpsuits&dwvar_colorPattern=10227839_MediumBlueDenim_753271#2
Vero moda allso have a curve and a plu s size line mayby she should try it. I would love to translate the sizing
They have a curvy line! I would love for Sierra to try it!
Or just chek out all of bestseller. They are the corporation that owns vero moda and many other brands and they are danish based. They are really trying to have a transparent cotten approach and make sustainable clothing
Those pink pants are doing the most. Damn I love those wish they carried my size.
I would love to see you shop indie/underhyped/ethical men’s clothing brands, maybe a buying my husband outfits video?
Yes! My fiance sees me buying awesome sustainable clothes but gets disheartened because they rarely have men's clothes.
Hahaha vero moda is very famous/notorious in the Netherlands. It's a bit similar to H&M: cheap stuff with weird sizing😂
it is!! but its a little more expensive than h&m right?
Same as in Germany 😅
Weirdest sizing I‘ve ever seen! 😂
Same in Denmark 🙈
We have it in Canada but it's a mid level price range. Not cheap by any means.
Absolutely love Lucy & Yak! I would say their sizing is on point most of the time, but definitely refer to the size chart and measurements- for example, the Addison jeans I would recommend sizing up since there isn't alot of stretch in the waistband. Also, they have a DEPOP were they sell their clothes for cheaper because of clothing "faults" during the manufacturing process INSTEAD of throwing them in landfills!!!!
Thanks for the info! I will definitely look up their depop
@@sarahgh9495 I can't stay away from their depop 🙈! They restock during the week but there is a time difference so sometimes I stay up til 1 am or 2 am to get the good stuff, but usually restock between 1 am to 6 am 😅
@@Alice1nWond3rland Haha. When do they restock UK time? Asking for a friend 😅
@@sarahgh9495 Haha, you're fine! I think it is between 9 am to Noon UK time? Sometimes they do the morning to afternoon for restocks, wish they stated when they do restocks 😅
There's a vero moda store in almost every kinda bigger town in Germany and I just hate their clothes because they NEVER fit, their size medium is more equivalent to a size extra small and they only ever seem to have the smaller sizes in store :(
Same in the Netherlands, really a hit or miss store.
Really? I live in Sweden and I LOVE Vero Moda, I'd guess that 90% of my clothes are from VM and the brands that they sell in store (Pieces, Only, Object, Noisy May...). The only thing I've learned the hard way is that in VMs dresses I'm atleast a size L, while normally being an (hourglass) size medium top & bottom in fitted clothes and small on the top on loose fit clothes. Otherwise I love Vero Moda to death. I hope that you'll find other brands more to your liking! :)
@@bigfishbovvl omg en till svensk yeeeey
I have a few things from them. Usually I size up one size. However, I had one item from them run large ironically.
I appreciate you switching from exclusive fast fashion, to making an effort to look into the brands you are reviewing. This helps us all make better choices!
No one:
Sierra: looks stunning in literally anything and everything!!!!
Universal Standard is one of those brands that when I look at their clothes on the site, I'm underwhelmed. BUT I have gotten several mystery boxes from them and every piece from them is my favorite version of that piece. Fave black t-shirt? US. Fave crewneck sweatshirt? US. Fave black jeans? US. Fave ribbed dress? US. They are so worth trying because the quality is insane. I still get heartburn at the prices, but that is because I have been trained for so long that I should never buy something full price. They do have great sales and highly recommend the mystery boxes!
Just know, they have a VERY strict exchange policy. You get ONLY 1 for a calendar year, so if you do buy online thinking that fit liberty is a fantastic option, they are actually LESS flexible than almost any other brand I have purchased from. if you get the wrong size, you get one shot at getting the correct one. If you guess wrong, they will refuse any further exchanges or refunds. I have been told, and other women in a fat women's community I'm in have been told, that we should buy 3 pairs of $90 pairs of jeans and return the ones that don't fit. Universal Standard is for sure a status brand. I love their stuff. I will say they don't hold up better than cheaper brands. They do fit fat bodies better. Just be warned if you make the leap to full price purchasing. I no longer purchase from them because I know too many young women in NYC who have been really harmed by their exchange policies on tight budgets.
Edited to add: I don't think any policy where folks end up with new clothes they can't wear is ecologically sound.
US is great
EXCUSE ME THAT FIRST SWIM SUIT WAS AMAZING AND YOU LOOKED SO GORGEOUS LIKE ABSOLUTELY STUNNING HTNRJDHJSJD YOURE BEAUTIFULLLLL
We can change our pants as our sizes change? What kind of heaven is that?!
You should do a cottagecore video! Carrie Dayton just did one on her channel and I feel like you'd have so much fun with it too!
you shouldnt be afraid to give the basics a 10/10 cause they're the ones you're going to be wearing on a much more regular basis, trust me. maybe i'm also biased cause i love basics/normcore
Nobody:
Literally nobody:
Sierra: POCKETS!!!
Maybe it's the name because I get sooo excited about pockets too 😂😂
I also adore pockets. LOL
Pretty much all women want pockets in everything.
I am OBSESSED with every single pair of jeans you’re wearing. They all are so flattering!👖
I wish that this stuff wasn't so expensive. I can see why they are but it seems I have no choice but to buy from Walmart and target etc etc because I'm on disability so I cannot afford expensive clothing like these unfortunately
I’m on student and can’t work bc of a disability. There is a lot of brands that are cheaper which have (less so but enough) ethical and sustainable practices. You can also shop sales or second hand of these specific brands. Or, what I’ve started to do, save or wait until you have less bills one week then you buy a piece you really want that you could wear forever. Don’t feel like you have to buy new clothes every week and wear a different outfit for every outing or event. 10 basic, high quality pieces make a perfect wardrobe
I understand it’s not as easy as that, I’m in the same situation as you, but it’s important for us to switch our narrative and know we are valid and smart and deserve good clothes,in our own way
@@jostewart3192 secondhand shopping= life, I've found so much great stuff at thrift stores and on poshmark etc.
R J I love Depop bc everyone is so fashionable haha
Lucy and yak have an outlet shop on depop ❤️ but I rarely buy new these days and pick up brands for so cheap via second hand buying
You are killing the game and honestly the things you don’t like on yourself, you’re still killing it 😍
The 1st swim suit was PERFECT on you!!!!
Highlight of this video:
THERE IS A FRICKING DRESS WITH POCKETS. 2020 is turning around I tell you! 😂
sierra does the best job being so kind when something isnt perfect for her, she never talks down about a company or a product and very clearly looks for the best in everything and everyone!!!!
Sierra’s already back at it again with the blue and white striped tops after Poshmarking half of hers like two weeks ago 😂
I’m definitely stuck in the whatever’s at target that I can grab real quick and put on rutt.
I can’t see myself buying a swimsuit for $150 even if it’s ethically made.
With ethically made products, the idea is that you build a basic wardrobe with them. Classic, timeless pieces you'll love for a long time. So with a $150 bikini, you'd have the one really good quality piece rather than buying a few new sets from Target every summer. Just the idea, obviously doesn't work for everyone ☺️
I have absolutely saved gobs of money by buying nice high quality basics, especially with jeans, as opposed to buying multiple cheaper items over and over again
Theoretically I can. I mean, my current swim bottoms I've had for possibly 8-10 years. 😅
I just thrift instead, it's more affordable and you can find good brands not to mention it's sustainable. :)
Allison Kleckner wtf?! Not everyone has a lot of money to spent on clothes or in general. You are ignorant and just showing how privileged you are.
I CAN NOT BELIEVE YOU DID PEACHY KEEN SWIM I HAVE BEEN ACTIVE ON ALL THIER SOCIALS AND WOULD NEVER THINK IT COULD MAKE A VIDEO
I'm. Irish and when I saw Vero Moda I instantly cringed because their clothes are so small! X
Same! We have this brand in China and I'm a size 10/12 and can barely fit their clothes. Also, I find the quality to be worse than H&M and much more expensive. I'm not even tempted to go in there😂.
@@emilytanner9741 Agree, their stuff is probably the worst quality out of all the fast fashion brands I've ever tried.
I'd like to see: Sweet Salt, Poppy and Dot, Roolee, Olive Ave, Nest Boutique, and Lime Lush. They're all little online boutiques. Really wanna see if they're worth the price. Super great video!!
I've tried Sweet Salt before and really liked it. I've been looking at Olive Ave. but I haven't bought anything yet.
Most of these are local Utah shops where I live. They all basically sell the exact same clothes. They all buy from the same labels and they buy whatever is trendy so sometimes they have the exact same items. I have clothes from all of them that I love and I have also returned so many things because sizing is all over the place. I’m usually a size Large but at most of these places I order an XL just to avoid returning things because they don’t fit. Most make you pay return shipping too which is a bummer. Hope that helps you!
julie canfield ahhh thanks!!!
I’ve been looking for high quality basics for mid-size / plus-size women, and to hear you speak so highly of Universal Standard makes my heart really happy!! I’ve been wanting to try their clothes but I’ve been so afraid of the fit. Also, very cool to hear about the Fit Liberty thing. Hope you do more videos like this in the future. 💕
Universal Standard is a favorite of mine. They do discounted mystery boxes in various themes (classic, comfy, athletic, dressy, etc) each year. Totally worth the hype 💙🥰
hearing sierra say “they have pockets” all throughout the video just made me smile
Pockets... "Amazing!!!!"
I do agree haha
the way she looked in the first swimsuit could have been 1 to 1 out of sports illustrated. just banging
Would love to see a review of the Girlfriend collective - their workout gear is all made from plastic bottles. ❤️
Their stuff is awesome and very much worth the cost.
Longevity of the clothes? If I’m going to pay that kind of money, it better last until I’m old enough to have kid who wants to borrow it
yeah
if the fabric and make is high quality it'll likely last a long time :) you can make things last even longer by air drying them too :))
lmfao
i mean thats literally how things use to work lmao? there are still clothes from the 30s-60s that are wearable because they were made well
@@ReyReytheZebra Price and longevity aren't always related. I've seen some fashion channels call out brands for being overpriced garbage even though the clothes are sweatshop-free
I came to youtube to see if you had uploaded yet & clearly my timing is on point! :)
Sierra looks like she’s feeling really good in this video! Healthy and happy :)
Vero Moda is Danish! and it fits small -- like lots of European brands.
Also the swimsuit is AMAZING and flattering and interesting.
That 10/10 black wrap top is so cute, and thanks for mentioning that it's pre-sewn on the wrap part, because I'm always struggling with that. Where are my other *people* that have 2 different cup sizes haha they're changing all the time. Also...excited for bonus self timer challenge video!
that first bikini looks SO GOOD ON SIERRA i’m shook
I know!! She looked so beautiful!
Yes!!
I could never ever afford ANY of this ..soooo expensive
The blue denim dress looked sooo beautiful on her, like it was literally made for her!!!
Universal Standard - regularly does sales so the jean cost around 50 instead of 90 even for the fit liberty and you can do a return if the jeans don't fit and will keep the fit liberty intact for a later date. Oh yeah, and if you do a return they ship it out asap and don't wait for your return so even cooler.
They also do mystery boxes... I want to say mine was 90 or 120 for THREE dresses. The only thing is you pick your size and colors you like and they look at your order history and pick things they think you will like. I probably got an over $500 value.
your next video...sounds like a good time! ⏱️😂
😂😂😂👏🏼
My two faves!!!
Those pink pants were my favorite piece today! They looked amazing!!
I LOVE that you are doing more of these smaller/sustainable videos! I love watching these but it's also so important to me to shop more sustainably and so many try on videos out there are mostly fast fashion. So thank you I am LOVING this content!!!
dude i’m obsessed with peachy keen!! i know they’re a really small company so it’s so cool that you mentioned them 💛
Sierra’s energy lvl is so refreshing.
PLEASE do a Lucy and Yak haul!!!!
Made it to the end!! Loved this video, and how much care you're taking to find sustainable, ethical brands! It's super inspiring!
I love sierra so much. She is such an inspiration. I love how happy and fun she is. She is beautiful inside and out.
This is perfect timing! I just finished a women’s leadership meeting at my work!
You have my first name and my God parents last name
I have to turn "I would definitely style this tucked in. Im going to tuck it in" a drinking game for sure 😂😂😂😂
Sierra,
I doubt you will see this but I bought a swing dress from Bytavi and I LOVE it. Thank you for the great recommendation! ❤
I love that you're donating to the Okra Project. I really appreciate how much you prioritize good causes and awareness. You never disappoint me 😭
böhme is actually really popular here in utah! there’s a location in almost every shopping mall :)
Omg that black swimsuit looks SOOO GOOD I’m crying I love I love
I absolutely love your channel for a million reasons. Thank you for the quality content girl. You’re a breath of fresh air
The swim suit...chefs kiss!! Looks amazing on you!!!
I love this idea and I can't wait for part 2! As a college student who is studying abroad it is harder to buy sustainable due to the prices but I'll be definitely be saving up to invest in some of the amazing pieces you showed! Also can't wait to see how you make the self-timer photoshoot 🤍
it makes me happy seeing her so happy and grateful for those clothes !!
definitely need a part 2 to this!! loved seeing you so happy in these clothes and you look stunning in all of them!!!
I was 20% paying attention (listening while shopping on the Lululemon website) and I heard you talking about the first suit and recency bias so I switched over. And OMG THAT SUIT ON YOU!!!! You look like a Charlie's Angel! Honestly, if I found a suit that looked so good, I would reconsider whether real clothes are even worth it anymore.
sierra i just love your message so much!! you’re absolutely adorable inside and out and i am so amazed with how inclusive, kind, and helpful you are to all people❤️
Serving beach babe vibes with the wavy hair, minimal make-up, and summer tan😍
Love the bathing suit but $70 just for bottoms?? My pockets don't go that deep 😬🥴
sierra: $56 dollars is a great price for this dress
me: won’t spend over $15 for any piece of clothing
LMAO same
Yep! I saw the $90 Jeans and couldn't remember the last time I spent more than $30 on jeans
It's a great price for a piece that was made out of quality fabric by people who are being paid a living wage and working in good conditions.
69th like😂
I’m would never judge anyone on there budget for clothes so I totally get why you may not spend that much money but I also think it’s so important to remember clothing honestly shouldn’t be that cheap endless bought second had
When you came out in that first dress from Böhme, my jaw dropped and I literally said out loud, “She looks amazing in that!” You looked comfortable, confident, and glowing!
That first bathing suit looks amazing on you. It looks so comfortable.
i always feel self-conscious when taking self-timer photos cause i feel like everyone can tell, but I'm excited to see what sierra does with it because she always looks good!
Thanks for finding new brands for us!!! I probably wouldn't have never looked at different brands if it weren't for reviews from youtubers like you!!!
Thanks so much for this video! I love seeing sustainable and ethical brands being supported!!
This video showed up randomly for me and it was 100% what I needed. As a plus size, short person, I absolutely despise clothing shopping. Nothing fits and what does fit is unflattering. Thank you so much for showing me there are brands out there that may just have clothing I can buy and enjoy wearing.
she should keep the linen top and become close with a Tailor. unless you get clothes made for you specifically, having a tailor can customize that shirt for her.
Sierra: So I don’t know about you...
Me: But I’m feeling 22 (I’m actually 27)
Am I the only one who has spent so much time on TikTok during quarantine that now my response is, “b**** I hope the f*** you do!” ???
Hahaha I thought this too, but I'm 16

@@brenndasouzaa 😂 you're not wrong there 😉😉
I thought the same thing!
Sierra, I'm literally always gonna stick around til the end of your videos, lol. I'm excited for Tuesday's bonus video because I'd love to utilize that camera tool more often myself!
this video and all your content is INCREDIBLE. youve helped me love my body again. thank you for what you do. im recently learning that clothes should serve our bodies and not the other way around.
GORGEOUS!!! You inspire me so much to love my body and have helped me through such a hard time so, thank you. Love you lots💜
I'd love to see an all white swimsuit haul from different brands to see what white swimsuit is the best. I can never find a white swimsuit thats flattering or doesn't go see through in the water. I know summer is almost over but maybe next season.
the body suit and light pink trouser pants looked so good together! and that wrap top was so flattering on you!!
I absolutely love seeing you support ethical brands. You use your platform in the best way!!
I used to work at Vero Moda when I was a student, yay! I never knew that there are brands designing for them, very interesting. Vero Moda is quite the fast fashion, medium to low quality chain though...
OMG refreshed the homepage at the perfect time!
Vero monda is trashy. The clothes arent durable and the sizes run waay to small often. Its quit known in my country
One of my favourite brands when it comes down to their style. But a lot of pieces aren't good quality, yeah
I absolutely LOVE taking self-timer pictures, honestly, its what i do most of the time so I don't have to ask friends to take photos and i have more control over how the pics turn out! excited to see the next vid
Okay I love everything about this video! Also Sierra’s curly hair looks SOOOOO amazing in this vid!
