How often would you clean them if you're not going seal up the hole?
Probably pretty regularly especially if your home gets warm often. The water inside can cause mold to grow quite quickly.
Would doing this with toys that can trap water and moisture regularly be the best way to prevent the problem?

I use dawn because it’s a degreaser to help get the grime up, but I’m sure most soaps would get the job done 😊
