but do u know that eeprom from 14th December is needed and OS that is being booted must include Linux 6.1.54 or newer kernel?

I figured the operating systems showing were the ones that were compatible, maybe with an eeprom update it will work.

@@leepspvideo it seems that recalbox5 and ubuntu2310 should work on PINN now but i didn't test it. Mario has UEFI for pi 5 and windows works well with it but he doesn't want to release it to public yet. only sdcard and usb ports work with 1 small issue that usb corrupts storage drive if u boot from it. in github repo of raspberrypi firmware there is an issue titled "[RPi5] Support loading custom Arm firmware directly from EEPROM" which would help uefi to load directly from EEPROM if raspberry pi foundatiion decides to implement it. It would be nice if we could show some engagement to suggest this feature is highly demanded.

I don't know why multi-boot is not even more popular across the board. It used to be so easy in the days of MBR on X86 but since UEFI, it is more of a pain. I'm surprised that Petitboot, popular on the Odroid N2+ hasn't been ported across to other ARM SBC's with SPI flash onboard.
How Petitboot works is actually really simple, it only depends on kexec syscall which Pi kernel already has. It should be able to be ported easily.
PINN from RPi Imager works fine on RPi 5.
Do your Pi 5's negotiate PD with 3rd party power supplies / power banks? I can´t get mine to work with the Wimaxit screen powered through the pi with 3rd party power supplies. It works fine with the 1st party power supplies though
Are you limited to use the same kernel for all OS with no option to install kernel drivers?
I think that was more a berryboot limitation. Pinn has Android and Linux
Hi @leepspvideo. When selecting an os to boot from, are the checkboxes selectable. Try clicking on the checkboxes themselves and see if they become ticked, then boot from the selected image :fingers_crossed

I've been playing with pinn today. I had the first attempt boot loop, so I used the update in the post, managed to install all 3 OS's no issues, although 3 times Ubuntu broke and have to reinstall, trying to install aethersx. Gave up at that point
Same here. Ideally I would have Ubuntu, Raspberry Pi OS, and Recalbox. Can't get Ubuntu working.

I only ever managed with Berryboot

That's right. It may be a bit till they get pinn os on the pi 5. Though I never really had good luck with it on the pi 4.
Could you check if RaspberryGateway will work for RPI5? Im looking for rpi3b replacement but not sure if it will work. Thank you!
Are you referring to the d3vilh raspberry-gateway? This is just an automated script to install a software stack on top of RaspiOS. Make sure you start with the absolute latest version of RaspiOS, to ensure kernel support for all the new hardware, and then the software stack should install just fine.

Bit off topic but has anyone had any issues overclocking? My pi 5 8gb overclocks fine when pios is run from an sd card but try to boot from an external drive or connect a camera and boom it takes an instant dislike to running at 3ghz. Not tried a lower oc. For context Im using all official case, active cooler and psu. Still runs smooth enough at stock clocks for what Im using it for.
it seems the overclocking doesnt give you much gains compared to the power consumption. 2.4 ghz seems to be a sweet spot. Also there's the chip lottery phenomenon.

Windows doesn’t dual boot on the Pi as it uses uefi to boot.

In some ways but all the operating systems are fully installed with Pinn as opposed to many ventoy images being bootable iso’s
