The actual tier ranking begins at 2:25 before that I’m just explaining how I chose to categorizing these topics and giving a TW for some discussions of alleged abuse and ED. There are some serious topics mixed in with regular petty drama to keep the video with some levity. I removed one topic because it the video was too long. This is lowkey a rant video, so I hope you guys enjoy! NOTE: seeing all the suggestion will definitely make another tier video scandals of all time which will include all the sochi messes
Keeping up with Eteri is the only reality show in figure skating that matters.

1) Valieva doping
2) the collective team Tutberidze meltdown after FS in Beijing
3) Fanyus losing their shit over Javier questioning the hole in the ice
4) Ilia Malinin not being sent to the Olympics
5) James and Radford teaming up and Meagan's reaction to the whole thing
6) Shcherbakova's "why do you deserve to go to the Olympics" presscon (especially funny in hindsight)
7) Nathan Chen's unfortunate "homophobic" remarks
did I miss anything? I'm sure there have been more
The Chinese team choosing a Chinese-american over a Chinese native was a juicy tibdbit of drama…
-Shabotova being kicked from Team Tutberidze for whistleblowing about the doping, going to compete for Ukraine instead and being kicked out for liking a pro-war Post from Plushenko. Que to him announcing that he wants to take her in.
-Maybe a bit minor, but rumors about Eteri wanting to leave russia bc she deleted all her insta posts with russian flags and Putin. Also her daughter is under 21 and has an US citizenship(meaning eteri gets free visa), so she definitely does have the means to leave

I was watching a press conference with Sasha, Anna, and Kamila the other day and noticed that Anna and Kamila both drained their water bottles while Sasha didn't touch her's. Of course Sasha's with Plushenko and the other two with Eteri so do with that what you will...
This is the one that has my head scratching. Wouldn't you want to minimise the water weight as much as possible????
@@bemused2774 yeah that's why eteri allegedly doesn't let them drink water before competitions so they don't have that water weight. Anna and Kamila were chugging water after their free programs when the competition was over and Alina got tested after the podium when the competition was also over

I agree. The topics i chose for dramas i actually saw & experienced in my timeline. I wasn't in fs twitter in 2014 when sochi madness happened nor have i seen people ranting extensively about it since i joined. But i do know the story through blogs and talking to people.

Hate for her is justified now, she is openly very pro-war and it came to light that she was part of Putin's re-election campaign

8) Top 10 closest ever Olympic/World Championship competitions

My answer to no.8 would be the "Battle of the Brians" in the 80's! (Briano Orser V Brian Boitano). The media that surrounded it was ENORMOUS!
Most exciting competition ever (imho) 😁
The juiciest dramas (according to me):
1-Tonya vs Nancy (the quintessence of fs drama, plus Nancy making fun of Oksana later is the icing on cake)
2-Yagudin vs Plushenko (their pure hatred toward each other and pettiness to this day is hilarious)
3- Yuna’s robbery (that one is actually pretty sad, but showed how political fs can be)
On the same level: Kamila’s doping scandal. It revealed another dark face of the sport.
4-Sasha losing gold. Tbf these Olympics had more drama than all the Eteri/Plushenko/Yagudin past antics combined.

I don't think Shoma transferred to Eteri. He attended training, like camp, as trial. But not an official transfer.

@@paolala , sorry Paola, but there were ( still are) a many videos about Sochi scandal, it gets little bit boring, not to mention that Adelina Sotnikova still gets a threatening message . Some ppl still blame Sotni because of Olympics gold, but it wasn't her fault, i believe that she didn't even expect Olympics gold ( all the hopes of Rus skating Fed were directed towards Yullia than). I remember Vancouver Games, in 2010'- Plushenko was also robbed by the ISU judges, Evan Lysachek won Olympics gold without quadruples jumps into his programs, although Plushy led after SP and performed two beautiful programs ( SP and LP) with the quadruple jumps. We, fans of Plushenko, were very disappointed, but we didn't blame Lysachek , nor did we send him threatening messages , it was the judges fault.

@@nenavujicin7882 Pratim klizanje od 2018-e godine i čak mi se i čini da je sad mnogo manje losih komentara vezanih za Eteri nego sto je bilo tad, tad su glavna tema bile Zagitova i Medvedeva i to kako je Medina tehnika katastrofalna (jeste losa, ali bas da je katastrofalna, nije).
Kao drugo, logicno je da ce se najvise pricati o Eterinim klizacima kad su kao prvo najuspesniji, kao drugo ruski mediji i sam Eterin tim vole da provociraju pa je ljudima interesantno. Dok je Tj Nyman bkv bio niko i nista do skoro, a Morgan Cipres i Vanessa su bili klizaci koji su tek bili u usponu. Ipak su krivi mediji najvise jer ne zele da pricaju o ozbiljnim stvarima kao sto su seksualno, verbalno i fizicko nasilje, nego im je zanimljiviji Eterin Lui Viton komplet i neko njeno dete od 10 godina koje je skocilo petostruki skok.
Pomenula si Fran, TSL i Koola king-a koje ne volim nikako. Koola king videi su mogli biti samo saljivog karaktera da on nije previse zezao Medvedevu...takodje, davno je prestao da snima. TSL sam otpratila onog momenta kada su vredjali Tarakanovu, a Fran od onda kad je vredjala Kamilu. Od svih ljudi koji komentarisu klizanje na yt jedino bih rekla da je devojka koja je snimila ovaj video ok, ostali su uzas...
Sve u svemu slazem se da ima bitnijih stvari ali kad mi samo Eteri svuda iskače logicno da ce 90 posto mojih komentara biti vezani za nju. A i da se razumemo, njoj to zapravo odgovara jer je sve populanija, bez obzira na to da li su ti komentari dobri ili losi...
@@anjaradonjic2316 , mislim da je Koola King kanal upravo zato i ukinut , jer mora se priznati da je, osim što je ukazivao na neke sudijske greške, što je u redu, ipak verbalno i vizuelno zlostavljao tinejdzere, naročito Medvedevu, koristeći ružne video montaže iz Vendi Vilijams šou programa i nazivajući njeno klizanje ''the death of figure skating'', da ne spominjem komentare pratilaca tog kanala upućene klizačici- klizačicama ( pretežno iz Eterine grupe) koje su tada bile tinejdzeri. Svako verbalno zlostavljanje ( hajde- vredjanje, mada je više bilo zlostavljanje, što kao pedagog mogu da potvrdim) na društvenim mrežama se sankcioniše od tada. Vi ste spomenuli ''ćerku'', pa bih ja da se nadovežem - Pre bih svoje dete- ćerku, dala Eteri da od nje napravi šampiona, makar i kratkoročnog, nego Morganu ili TJ-u ( ok- shvatite i ovo kao šalu); pozdrav!
I still think Sochi 2014 really takes the gold medal for scandals within the past decade. People still fight over it to this day, and I think what makes it more iconic is that if Russia had just waited a year or two, they would have had their Yuna-like champion in Evgenia and legitimately taken the top 2 spots at the next Olympics (which of course were in Korea 😹).

@@SamKreinberg No. I don’t. Of course I understand that Alina feels immense and endless gratitude towards Eteri, I bet all the girls do. But haven’t we seen several girls leave Eteri? I know most of them don’t necessarily have an Olympic medal, except Evgenia with her 2018 silver, but we’ve seen that many girls have left her. I don’t blame them, I don’t blame anyone. I’m not part of their group and have no idea what goes on between them, but I feel like the girls should feel free to change coaches if they want. Like, I don’t understand why Eteri gets so worked up and literally goes on Instagram and social media to speak crap about girls who are way younger than her. I understand she might feel deceived and betrayed, but they’re CHILDREN, they should feel the liberty to explore their abilities with other coaches who might build them up or down, and find the one who is truly fitting to them. The point is that everybody knows that Eteri doesn’t take lightly to girls who leave her, while every other coaches farewells and wishes the best to their students; I simply wanted to make a harmless joke to compare to what I would want in a man. I meant no harm towards Eteri, Alina, or team Tutberidze whatsoever. I’m sorry if any more of you found this comment unfunny, but let me tell you that I really meant no harm. I admire Alina for staying so long with Eteri, despite seeing so many of her peers come and go within Tutberidze’s team.
@@someonewholaughsandcriesat6815 well Plushenko talked about the fact Alina actually had a conversation with him about a possible coach change( take this with a grain of salt as it’s his words not Alina’s) but it’s certain that Alina asked during tours to many other skaters about the possibility of having a longer career. I think she obviously understood that she had to change coach and she did not want to go through the bullying and hating all students that leave Eteri go through. Just imagine all the mud that would have been thrown on her, like with Zhenya and Yulia… it wasn’t a question of loyalty, I think she was caring for herself and her reputation.

I missed the Yuna Kim/Adelina drama, which wasn't really a drama, but you know, Adelina got suuuper overscored, never competed again and get death threats to this day. People sort of forgot about it because both of them retired I guess, and because it was so obviously unfair.

Alina pause on figure skating was way way bigger deal. The kremlin was even asked to comment on it cuz there was such a buzz. Also Mariah bell and Eunsoo drama was big too, Mariah got so many death threats on her Instagram and a bunch of news outlets covered it.

Not so sure the French dance team is a shoe-in to win the olympics. Victoria & Nakita (Russia) seem to have a strangle hold on the judges lately. Papadakis & Cizeron have a higher quality program and are better skaters, but dance judges are not the most reputable.

One of the first times I watched FS was during the 2018 Pyeongchang Olys. I wanted Zhenya to win (based off just my gut and her costume lol), and when Alina won I got so mad and sad for Zhenya. Been biased against Alina ever since (though with more rationale now) 🤣

I guess as many already wrote here Sochi Oly 2014 ladies figure skating was big and legend status scandal lol. I followed FS seriously since Oly 2018 but watching, reading, and after learning Sochi Oly that scandal must have been big and many people still salty about it. I too am salty of the daylight robbery happening there even though I didn't live in the scandal real time lol.

As someone who lived through the Tai & Randy drama and of course the Debi Thomas/Katarina Witt hype, I can say that unless you see a Dorothy Hamill or a Kristi Yamaguchi dominate while having class, you just can't have big time figure skating without big time drama.
