Arturo Sandoval plays his new Jazzophone

jazz master Arturo Sandoval, in Budapest, Hungary.
He is just testing his personal gift, a Jazzophone, a Saxophone shaped trumpet. We called it Sandophone, as a dedicated instrument to him.

Yeah, I'm just now finding out about this as well. As many times I've looked at videos on music and instruments, including odd; weird; unusual; and newly invented instruments, you would think that I would've been recommended this video years ago instead of now.

@@joshuamcpherson7651 it sounds like a trumpet to me as well and I believe that's why they have it to a trumpet player. I too see it as a bent trumpet.

I feel like, because it happened with the saxophone that this instrument if it is gonna continue, that it won't be popularized until later on in the world after this guy has died or something...but then again because of how diverse we are today it might as well be

I hate to be that guy but I’m fairly certain this is a normaphone, not a jazzophone. A jazzophone has two bells, one of which has a built in wah-mute, similar to an echo cornet. They’re such rare instruments that the distinction barely matters but I do think it’s interesting.
