  • This is my 3 night stay in the Pisgah National Forest. The scenery was stunning for this trip, and weather fantastic.I explored Looking Glass Rock, Looking Glass Falls, the Graveyard Fields area, Sliding Rock Recreation Area, and the Davidson River area. I will definitely be coming back again some day to explore some more. The trip includes a half dozen named waterfalls, many wildflowers, birds, snakes, fishing (without any luck), camping, hiking, and just exploring around. I enjoyed this trip so much, and hope you do too.

    Very enjoyable video! Great scenery and the waterfalls were incredible; the flowers were beautiful. Another thing I loved, too, was your choice of music. Thank you for sharing your hikes.

      Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it! Keep an eye out for another trip video within a month or two (waiting for the summer heat to retreat a little, haha) In the meantime, I have other videos from other hikes in NC on my channel, so feel free to subscribe. :) (Also, Ireland is BEAUTIFUL! I would love to visit someday and explore)

    Sliding Rock looked like fun! Seems like there are so many great places to visit in that area.

      Yeah when I was researching the area to visit, I had a tough time narrowing it down to fit my trip length. This area really does have a TON to see. I highly recommend checking it out. Be warned for Sliding Rock though, the water is COLD!! Even in the summer it is downright chilly they say.

      Thank you, Pisgah is so beautiful!! It is a dispersed campsite on FR5041 called Bearpen Branch. Easiest way I found to get there is to turn off the main road like you are going to the looking glass rock trailhead, keep going and just past the fisheries place down there is the road on the right. Follow that a couple miles or so up the windy dirt road and the camp will be on the right after a small bridge. Under another comment on this video someone even IDed the coordinates for that spot. Hope you have a great trip!!

      There are specific guidelines to where you can camp when it comes to the Pisgah Ranger District, but there are free roadside campsites in the "backcountry". Be sure to check the rules and regs and plan accordingly. Glad you liked the video! I usually set up camp pretty quickly once I arrive but I will keep that in mind! Best of luck and adventure on your trip!

    What is that map you have? I must have this. Just moved to Hendersonville and all of those places are within an hour from me.

    Thanks for sharing. One of the best times of my life was a couple years ago camping in PNF. What was the trail at the end of the video where the rock climbers were?

    • @TheWandererGoods
      @TheWandererGoods  Před 7 lety

      That trail is the Sunwall trail. It can be accessed via FR 475B, the same road for North Face trail and Slick Rock Falls trail. Glad you enjoyed the video, I also recently posted another Pisgah NF video based around Linville Gorge this last fall if you would like to see more! Happy Trails.

    Nice camping spot! Are you keeping it to yourself or would you be willing to share some details on how to find it?

    • @TheWandererGoods
      @TheWandererGoods  Před 7 lety +2

      Id be happy to share. This camp area is located on the FR5041, I believe along bearpen branch, or very close to it. there is a camping sign right along the road so it is not hard to spot, and there is enough room for at least 2-3 small groups to camp there.It is located That road connects with FR 475B, and there are multiple camping areas along both roads.
