The trouble is, attempts to use vocabulary to impress will usually have the opposite effect.
You need to practice
Okey grandpa what is Good/Better/Best
1) The food was good.
2) The food was better than what we had before.
3) The food was best among what we had recently.
** Hello Stidents: You need to know the above in expressing the right emotion. These are called Simple > Comparative > Superlative degrees of common adjectives.
melancholy noun melancholic adjective 😮😂
Melancholy is also an adjective. Please refer to Cambridge Dictionary. Melancholy - having a feeling of melancholy; sad and pensive.
"she felt a little melancholy"
When does the over use of superlatives encroach on the speakers credibility ?
It's like having more colors to paint with; you can create more detailed and vibrant pictures with your words!
Do colors and vibrancy trump being succinct?@@LearnEnglishwithHarry

Sorry mister. It is prosperous to say that colossal or enormous can be used instead of big irrespective of what the size of the thing in question might be. You are misleading people by such oversimplification.
Not really. “big” can be used as a simpler alternative to “colossal,” though “colossal” suggests a much larger size.
Harry, please look up colossal and enormous (I did this again in four "quite big, even enormous" dictionaries.) The word big is never given as a synonym of these two words. Instead, we see synonyms (or descriptions/definitions) like "vast, huge, immense, gigantic, titanic, massive, extraordinary, even astronomical and monstrous." "Big has o modest coverage.: More than average size, weight, force, importance, etc."
Did you mispronounce vocabulary?
How irritating and disgusting your lessons are! They are blended with PREPLY advertisements. How can a teacher be swayed and step down without even minimal ethical values? So shameful.
