OK, Young360: Here we go again! My immediate thoughts: 1) Your timing is PERFECT. I'm actually thinking of EVO 2, having just purchased and received Mavic AIR 2. Did I make the right decision for me? Well, your video certainly helped me answer the question: Absolutely YES. Mavic AIR 2 is 1/2 the price of EVO 2, with 80% of the features. Look at the EVO Pro II 6k footage in lower light compared to any Mavic. Tons more detail where the Mavic looks washed out and dull with no detail when punched in compared to the EVO. Dan Watson does a review that shows it clearly.

They are all black against a bright sky. BTW a skin or a can of spray paint is cheap, paint your Air 2 dayglo orange or yellow and put an Autel to shame

I had both for 3 weeks. Flew almost every day testing just about everything I could think of. Sold the DJI.
what was the deciding factor for you personally. I feel like the colour grading is better when it comes to dji and it will actually track in front of you while evo 2 doesn't do both of those. I hate deciding fml

If you have a drone license then you can file an application to DJI and have some parts of geofencing open up for you. In Europe ofcourse.
I like what the Marvin can do but today when I saw the deal for the evo 2 at 880 I can't resist and get it. It is my very first drone!
Once again, another great job with your comparison video. But thank you for reminding me that the Autel Evos don't have geofencing. The biggest reason why I want to go with Autel Evo. Which did you feel had better flight control and responsiveness between Mavic Air 2 and Evo II?
Glad I went with the Autel Evo 2 as I like the controller better and I love theblooknof the evo 2. The orange black and red colors are great and help get rid of the dull look DJI drones have. I also love the freedom you get with the Autel evo 2. I get the point of geofencing but if I pay a thousand dollars for a drone I should be able to launch in wherever I want and fly with caution. Far too many times I have had complaints from friends that own dji drones that the b4ufly app says they are in a safe fly zone only to try and takeoff and be told no you can't unlock the drone because its in a "DJI NO FLY ZONE". Same flight spot in b4ufly app says "safe to fly" so not sure what they are doing at dji

Thanks for reminding me that it is Spring with your straw hat and yellow dress. It would have been hard to recognize Spring here in Las Vegas as we are supposed to get up to 109F today. No wind but too hot to fly.
I will stick with the Mavic Air 2. Both drones have their advantages over each other on paper but they are both using the same 1/2 inch sensor I believe so picture and video quality differences are down to software which can be adjusted by either company. Any perceived advantages held by the EVO II are quickly outweighed by the differences in price.
And lastly, I just like the confidence that I get from Flying the Mavic Air 2 with it's stable flight and solid control and video signals.
WIFI or Ocusync. No contest there.
Great review of both drones features. I have to say I prefer the Evo control. If weight was not a issue for me I go for the Evo. Both good drones.

I see the video over and over for 4 time, the colour and details are better in evo 2 pro than the ma2, though it is personal preference. I hope you will make more videos on evo 2 pro soon. I'm waiting for a long. Please do more videos. And last the music along with you and your yellow shirt make the video morrrreeeee beautiful.

I fly mavik 2, phantom 4, inspire 2 and now I got my Evo 2 pro. With this drone I feel safe flying it. In my opinion Evo 2 Pro, is the best drone.

Richard floro jr Reyes Hi. Skydio is made in California and I think production is halted due to Covid at present. Very difficult to get one. It's a specialist drone made to follow active people very well. If that's what you want then it is a good buy. If you want to film landscapes then a different one might be more suitable. The basic Skydio does not have a remote controller - it does n't need one just to follow people. If into photography or good video then buy one with the biggest sensor you can afford, that's the most important thing after flight stability. Stay safe. BobUK.

Price wise, I went for the Mavic Air 2. It's still in his box though because I'm currently studying to have my pilot license. Don't you need a license in Singapore to fly drones as we do in Canada?

They are both great drones but I chose the air 2 due to the smaller size.
Just wondering why the EVO 2's outlooking design very similar to DJI's Mavic family's original design, is that Autel steal the drone body design from DJI? Did someone has the same question just like me?
@Brandon S gee Brandon, what did DJI steal from? Oh yeah the only American drone was the 3DR Solo and it was so overpriced it failed and looks nothing like anything DJI builds.

Great video! But I wanted to add that the Mavic AIr 2 actually shoots 4000 x 3000 DNG files for every 1080p hyperlapse, so you can easily create 4K hyperlapses with it in post production.

Air Sense was the determining factor for me between the EVO 2 PRO and Mavic Air 2. Alaska has the highest number of private aircraft and pilots" per capita" of any State; including bush planes which are a real concern for the drone pilot. P.S. Your a genuine technophile!
yah, that would be handy because while we dont have alot of private planes, we have so many helicopters......
Important Announcement. The Evo 2 drone is here. Drones such as the SZYM and Yuneec Typhoon series are now absolete tanks. This is because camera tech has improved and this level camera can now be mounted on a smaller platform, and Autel Robotics has done this. To be fair, these larger quads do have more then 4 props, so if you lose a prop you're still getting home, but that's all you're paying extra for now. DJI keeps comparing it to other older drones such as the Mavic 2 pro and Phantom 4. If you search, there is a video with a guy on a bike comparing the tracking, showing the Evo tracking is far superior. It is the only foldable drone right now with binocular optical avoidance in all 6 directions. It is an entry level commercial grade drone being used for light commercial applications. There is a video showing where dude explains how his Evo 2 has farther transmission then his Mavic 2 pro. The Mavic 2 pro does'nt even film in 4k 60 fps, that is a BIG downside for me, that is the standard in the commercial world right now. The Evo 2 is heavier because it has more avoidance sensors as well as a bigger heavier battery, which is only a very good thing. Not only longer flight time but the heavier weight with its low profile aerodynamic construction, my Evo 2 laughs at moderate winds. The Phantom 4 tries to compare but with its primitive OA sensors and short flight time due to large construction to carry primitive camera, it does not. DJI drones limit you to 120 meters altitude in the US, my EVO 2 can go 800 meters, I'm not sure if you realize how low 120 meters is. Evo 2 now has hyperlapse filming modes and keep in mind that every aspect of flight behavious and breaking can be fine tuned in the settings. Oh, and as far as falling out of the sky like these DJI guys claim or to be turning while youre flying, these things don't happen with my Evo 2 pro, it is an amazing flyer every time. Also, the other day I had a question about the newest firmware, Autel responded to my email within a few hours and helped me, not an automated robot response, they actually have people working there.

I don't like the design of the Evo but that isn't a deal killer. I fished my Mavic Mini out of a canal and have to use my DJI Refresh to get a new one m, there is a CZcams video of it. So for now, all I have is my M2P. I have a video of the last flight of my Mini.
I don’t see how these two drones are even on the same level. The Autel has a much better camera and a system that allows you to swap cameras. It also has an adjustable aperture, which the DJI Mavic Pro 2 has but not this drone. Lastly the Autel doesn’t have all the built in flight restrictions that DJI has and DJI takes forever to unlock your drone after authorization.

I own both drone and I must say that Autel evo 2 is way too much better than mavic air 2.. Both drone are great.
Although the Evo is a good drone, the colors are artificial, even cartoonish. Soft on the focus, also. Evo: 👎🏻 Air 2: 👍👍

Evo has better specs of the camera but the Mavic air is better in every other category other than camera and battery

The Air2 *does* have 4K hyperlapse. Just enable raw images and you’ll get all raw 12MP images

Thanks for this video. I do have one question though... I saw another review where the drone operator thought that the EVO 2 Pro was very difficult to handle. That is, it either moved slowly or jerkily and wasn't very responsive to commands from his RC. Did you encounter any similar problems with your flight? Thanks in advance!
um, i havent so far experienced..but i do wish the joystick movements are slightly more smooth :)
@@Young360 thanks for your reply. I've seen similar feedback... the need for smooth movement (or at least the ability to tweak this in the settings), an same with the gimbal as well. I wonder if this can be added with firmware update...
