Plot twist! Every quality saga has one... 169.000 miles on the original bearings. Mind blown! Nothing wrong with changing the story when new evidence becomes available, scientists do it all the time. Kudos for your honesty too!

Serious plot twist! Hard to believe the bearings latest this long. Just glad to get that story behind me. Time to move on with the E36 M3 restore, new i8 mod reveal, and E92 M3 refresh series. Big things coming to 2020. Thanks for watching man!

The lead tech at the BMW dealership in ft wayne IN says they've never done rod bearings on the e92's or e93"s during the 12 years he's been there. He said they have done several throttle actuators but never not once had they had to do rod bearings, and they service many s65 m3's. According to him the bearing issue lies within CZcams, not in the real world. I know two guys here in town that own a 2009 and a 2010 m3 and they both have well over 100,000 miles and both have original bearings. I've done a lot of research and cannot find one that has actually blown up due to the bearings. All I find are guys getting bearings changed due to readings from oil analysis. Have you heard of any actually blowing up due to the bearings? If so how many? I cannot find any.

Well funny you say that cause the ones you hear blowing up seem to be on forums or CZcams. IMO opinion, it's been a fear mongering issue. And could be another reason why BMW refuses to issue a recall. I'm not on M5 or M6 forums so I'd imagine I wouldn't be reading about any blowing up but I havent heard of any of those blowning up. I did watch the video of a guy doing donuts and and the bearings crapped out. But then again, the car could have over revved. It's great seeing people being proactive and it's great revenue for shops but yeah, I cant say it's a major major problem. The TA's will definitely fail but that job is super easy to do.
