- Today we see the final stats of our NHL 20 Be A Pro character! We had a great run with him, but as our prime ends, it's time to let nature take its course and see if age slows him down too much to catch Wayne Gretzky or not.

McDavid's skating always declines the most. In my Franchise Mode he's 40 yo, 88 OVR with 2 star skating and 2.5 physical. Weird how he is the one who's skating falls off the most.
Because he's young, he'll have a ton of speed.
Once he gets older his speed will go down a lot.

In nhl 20 I had a goalie be a pro mode and he stayed 99 overall until he was 45 idk what that was but it was kinda cool he automatically became a backup tho once he turned 38
Won four cups in that sim won my last three with the Edmonton Oilers tho all of those were in my characters 40s
My be a pro goalie is 31, 98 OVR and has like 350 wins

@@bigeddymachete those 350 wins were on top of playing in the QMJHL throughout all of my rookie contract though so I still could have gotten more

It has nothing to do with playing be a pro at all. I’m well aware that 39 goals is extremely good. But put in context with the fact that my character could easily score 60 and 70 in his prime, it is a pretty big drop off. It’s the same as saying Ovechkin slowed down for a few seasons when he was scoring about 35 a year. 35 goals is a very good season, but it’s definitely not the standard Ovechkin set. And Ovechkin is a real player, he’s not playing be a pro lol
Just a tip guys if u want a different team in nhl 21 go to Europe play 1 game sim the rest. Also have more off-season time for training

Do you play all these games? If not how do you simulate games but still get that high of a point total each year
No I don’t play all the games. I usually simulate 2 periods and play the 3rd, then I’ll simulate a few games entirely. Once you get to a high enough overall, your character will score like 90 points by himself if you simulate the whole season

Yeah I’m not done tuning it yet. It’s tough to make the difference between if it’s coming from the mic or the headphones because headphones can’t always handle everything

If you get traded to a team with fewer games played than your current one, you can go over 82. The NHL record is actually 86 games played in one season, and it’s owned by two players, which makes it even crazier!

Both. I had it on all-star basically until I got to the Oilers, then it was on superstar from that point on
MJ Anthony is only 31 and you're planning to retire him at 36 or 37??? Does he not put in the required work in the off-season, ala Jagr, Lidstrom, et al? Today's athletes are playing longer as a result of better training, nutrition and medical care. Hitting 30 does not necessarily mean you are in your 'post prime' phase of your career. Perhaps EA Sports needs to build in those factors to their simulation.
That’s all cool and all but you seem to forget how we had like 7 concussions…. This character could’ve retired even before this point. Not every athlete wants to play until their 40 either.

It’s possible. If you get traded and the team you get traded to has fewer games played, you could end up playing more than 82 games. 2 players have even managed to play in 86 games in one season

Can your NHL 21 career not be better than Wayne Gretzky it's just not realistic
The only thing better than Gretzky was the goal scoring, which Ovechkin could very realistically do as well, so I don’t feel like this was too far out of reach. Especially with the current trend of how the game is opening up and getting faster

@@aubreyn688 unfortunately, I can’t do anything about that. Being 99 overall is inevitable. Trust me, I wish it wasn’t, I would cap myself at 93 if I could. The way EA has its progression system laid out currently though, you would have to be deliberately bad not to reach 99, as even simulating your entire career will result in you hitting 99 more often than not. Hopefully we can have an XP system with full control of where attributes go in the future. Like I said, I would definitely cap myself at 93. But I can’t 😔
@@OneTeeGlory ok but you should keep increasing the difficulty of game play like superstar, and all the sliders and settings possible as you get better. You shouldn't be get a point most games when you only play one or 2 periods. Keep up the good work 👌
@@aubreyn688 Yea Thats what I do every time, I try to scale it to make it difficult enough that it isn’t broken but I also want to keep everyone’s stats realistic as possible, including our goalie. Having an 87 overall goalie post a .880 isn’t realistic either. It’s a tough balance.
