I can actually add something to this video regarding the Stephen hawking Simpsons toy. Although some didn’t like it he actually did. I used to be part of Stephen Hawkins care staff and spent time at his home and he had his figure displayed in his library.

Even the asking price of 2000$ would mean eacht of the 135 boxes would sel for only 14.81$ and that is for my opinion low. I would have at oeast expected the appraisal to be around 4k
Thats not untrue i worked at a store that sold some(i ended up with all of them) they all had that box structure brand new 20 for the figured 40 for the bigger ones so someone could do the math easily and make an estimate frankly 2000 is what i could see the pawn shop getting for them and thats retail now if he had season 1 released toys then it would be a diffrent story also that collection isnt even that big

That is one of the best deals you could get. I would of payed probably $4,000 for all of that. Amazing condition as well, genuinely ridiculous it sold for $1,000.

not true...it's an old set, and not worth much now really. Simpsons have had their day. just because something is 'old' doesn't make it vintage/valuable. it is still a late 90's/early 00's collection, not even classed as vintage.

I mean yea pawn shops will never offer a good deal. Pawn shops are mostly for people in desperate need of fast cash for emergencies. I pawned off my gaming laptop last year for 200 so I could get a plane ticket to my mom's funeral. So yea never sell to pawn shops unless it's like a last minute emergency resort

It is a lot of work to sell the collection piecemeal. I would sell the whole collection for $2k plus shipping and tax and wash my hands of it.
It’s not really a low price when most of that collection wasn’t worth anything to begin with.

emeric dion Not really. There are some figures and play sets that go for a bit. One example is that power plant break room playset that features Frank Grimes, which I did see he has here, that set alone could go for about 200. So even though I agree he sold his collection for too low, most figures don’t go for that much.
In fact, a few weeks ago at my local Flea Market, I picked up Krusty the Clown brand in package for only 10 bucks. So while there a few exceptions (I think that Stephen Hawking figure also goes for a good price) most figures in the World of Springfield line do NOT go for that much.

doggin6 ye actually one of the videos the seller actually commented and explaining how he ended up being there and how HIS experience wasn’t scripted. He only explained after someone asked if it was scripted. He commented: they did cut out the part where Rick was on a tantrum saying “50 bucks!, 50 bucks!” (Becuase he left because he didn’t get the extra 50 bucks) but then he came back a week later and sold it for for the amount offered (which was 50 off of what he was asking)

I've gone off the Simpsons recently but it is amazing how long they've been on the telly. 35 years ago they appeared on Tracy Ullman show. Then 1990 Simpsons didn't look back. It is still a massive massive hit.

you can make or break a few bucks depending on the product you are collecting. I bought a BD of Serial Experiments Lain, A collectors edition for like 120 or something like that, a few month later after they sold through it was on ebay for 300, still to this day, that same limited edition is going for more then i payed for it, used. most of my other anime... i would probably say that it's not worth what i paid for it at this point in time, unless it was one of the couple i bought off Sentai when they were having a massive sale.

That is a huge collection indeed. I always enjoyed watching their show though I don't normally watch TV. It was one of the very few shows I could. I don't think I could of spent all that money on their toys though. $2 thousand dollars really was not a bad asking price for all of that though. I think Chumlee actually seems to be a easier negotiator than the others. And it is interesting how Rick & Corey always seem to question Chum's judgement whenever he makes a deal. Jealousy gets you nowhere.
