      it is again and again showing that this windows 10 system doesn't support this?

      sorry I didnt see this comment, when you comment under the pinned notification, or anyone elses notification, it does not send a message to the creator, so your messages will go unanswered. If you need help with something, start your own thread on the video/ So yes, if you go to the support site, like I showed you in this video, you would see the windows 10 drivers, I showed you going to 11, but you would have chosen 10 instead of 11, but here is the link anyway: www.asus.com/Motherboards-Components/Motherboards/TUF-Gaming/TUF-GAMING-Z690-PLUS-WIFI-D4/HelpDesk_Download/
      Also, make sure windows is 100% updated.

    Thanks so much for taking the time to do this video, I know how much work it can be. I just wanted to say I followed this video with my slightly newer z790 ASUS Mobo and everything worked like a charm. I will give a warning in case it helps anyone, I used my old Windows 10 Flash Drive to install windows (before finding this video) and because of the outdated software, the network driver that would usually install when you run windows for the first time, was non existent, making it almost impossible to move forward, because none of the drivers would install either for some reason but I created a Windows 11 flash drive, started from scratch, and followed this video, perfection. Thanks Iggy!

      As you saw older installs don't include that but as long as you keep it updated it will have newer, not the latest and never a substitution for a new driver install from the support site.
      As always my friend if you have any questions please feel free to ask, always happy to help.

    Hey Iggy, I picked this board for my new build. I am not familiar with the software side of things such as updating BIOS, firmware, setting up windows etc. so I was watching these videos step by step.
    I had updated BIOS first, then changed the settings before installing latest version of Windows using the thumb drive I had set up (that was a great video too). One extra thing I had done was disable the setting to auto-install Armoury Crate (felt like I didn't need it).
    For the drivers I installed them in the same order as you, with the LAN driver last (wanted to keep PC offline so that windows update wouldn't start until I'm done manually installing drivers). I had done a DDU before installing the Nvidia driver (I never do graphics updates without using it!!). I decided to hold off on installing the AI Suite 3 and Wifi driver as I don't need those things right now.
    Only took a few hours, now my PC is up and running!!. Your video was very helpful and I was able to get everything done smoothly without any hiccups.

    I have this board, but with 4x16gb ddr4-3600 and an rtx 3080. Great bang for the buck board. And the ram being cheaper was a big part of why I went ddr4. This board gives me 4.8 all core at 1.23v. Max cinebench temps are mid 70s, and my rtx 3080 doesn't get past 67 degrees Celsius when gaming on project cars 2 at 4k.
    Also, your build is CLEAN!!!! inspired me to do my build as clean as possible. Thank you, and subscribed!

      for sure, that is why I went with the board and the RAM, I was picking it right when DDR5 first came out, it was reasonably priced, then within the hour doubled in pricing, then within 30 more minutes, all RGB options were gone, then within another 30 minutes, everything reasonably priced was gone and then being a smaller creator, no one wanted to send me anything, so I bit the bullet, bought the DDR4 variant and thank god it all worked out well, hahah. Its a great board and DDR4 is still amazing, good stuff my friend.

It means a ton to me and I am so very happy I could help you. I prefer on the top, but I have many times (in many other videos you will see on ThisBytesForYou) placed it up at the front. I prefer at the top because I can have unobstructed air hitting the CPU and GPU from the front, while the top handles sucking heat out along with cool air.
      With the radiator at the front, your fans are working hard to keep the radiator cool, and not as much air comes into the cause, push/pull would help, but not as much as 100% unobstructed air of course, just my 2 cents on that, I will be proven right/wrong a thousand times, but it is how I do it. Thanks again so much my friend, I truly appreciate your kind words and I really do hope I have helped you.

    hello , i would like to say thank you for this video. I was building a pc for my neighbors son and he bought a new Asus tuf z690 wifi motherboard. He really wanted the wifi part of the motherboard to work. I installed everthing correctly and even the wifi adapter on the aide of the motherboard. We thought it was going to work easily just like that but it didnt, we did research for 3 hours straight trying to configure and find out why the wifi was not working. We updated the bios, trying to turn the bluetooth/wifi setting on through windows but then little did we know we had to download the bluetooth and wifi drivers you have mentioned in the video. We was on the edge on giving up but then i found this video and this step was my last straw and it worked. We thought the board was defected but it was not. THANK YOU. Anyone who thinks their Wifi/bluetooth is not working dont worry it will you just need to follow every step this guy is doing.

      Almost every one of those bios updates says Ram stability. So before I swap out my kit I figured I'd try that.
      I did discover by accident that even though everything is exactly the same about my Corsair Vengeance lpx Ram that the chips and controllers are actually made by two different manufacturers. One is Micron and one is samsung. So that might be a timings issue too, but as you know in the corsair 4000 D anytime you change the ram you have to take out your AIO, and that's the last thing I want to do LOL.

      1. The drivers windows has on catalog, the WHQL drivers are OLD, drivers freshly downloaded off of the manufactures site are much newer, much more optimized
      2. Yes, since Windows likes to think it has the best driver set so it tries to update you by itself. Without a Microsoft account is a preference, I personally do it with a microsoft account, since I have one anyway, I am certified, but it doesn't really mater.

Foxed eventually by wiping the drive through windows install, not seeing the drive, then installing the RST drivers from an unzipped folder on the format/partition screen, first of all. well, you would need a good air cooler, I would recommend liquid cooling, its nice now and with the additional fans you can get on this case, aside from the ones it has now, you will get optimal cooling. Please don't mess with undervolting, it will add instabilities to your system. 850 should be OK, but if you keep buying for what you have now, next time you upgrade you will have to spend more. I have had a 1200Watt psu for about 15 years, still works fine, then 2 other 1000Watts for 3 or 4 years, still work great, and I bought another 1000watt, spend a little more now and you dont have to spend so much later. Thanks so much for your kind words my friend, it means a ton to me, the reason you are running into this is because the Z590 board utilizes RST and chances are you are not on the latest Windows 10 or 11 install media. So what you will do is download this download.msi.com/dvr_exe/mb/intel_rst_19.0.zip
      Double click to open up the zip file, like it was a regular folder, and in the "\intel_rst_19.0.zip\19.0\VMD\f6vmdflpy-x64" folder you will find 5 files. Copy those files to a folder on the root of the windows 10/11 installation media. Restart the install.
      When you get to the portion where it asks you to chose a drive, and you don't see any, click "Load Driver", then navigate to the folder on the thumb drive where you copied those 5 files too, select all the files there and click Next. You will see all the RAID controllers, you can select them all and click next and after a few seconds, your drive will appear, let me know how it goes.

      Asus puts out an Advanced BIOS tutorial for boards? Please send a link, maybe I will make one, I would love to see what they go over, so I can plan one accordingly. People have been asking for it, I just am not sure how to lay it out. Always a pleasure my friend and thanks so much for your kind words and support, it means the world to me.

      @@ThisBytesForYou only EZ Bios so far. I did download the Intel 600 series Channel BIOS UM (English Edition) from the ASUS website. On page 55 it states you must disable "Map SATA Controller under VMD" if you have PCI Storage under VMD. Now my drives all show up except the 2 NVMe under AHCI. Samsung Magician now states that SATA 3 is 'available" for the Crucial MX500??? Need to figure out how now to enable 6 GB/s and also if I want to map PCIE under VMD. More to follow. Always fun. Again, kudos for the reply.

      Only instance online similar to my nuance with the Crucial MX 500 was a bad cable. I put a new SATA cable in and it now is operating at SATA 3 at it's rated speed. No more fiddling needed. Thx for the response. Take care.

      sadly no, you will need another older CPU, this one will work for you, off of my amazon affiliate link, its only $77 geni.us/04ah4, not horrible, but I know, not ideal. Sadly this board does not have flashback.

    ASUS TUF Gaming Z690-Plus WIFI D4 can i assume that if you use all m.2 slots you won't lose any sata ports considering it only has 4 sata ports

    • @ThisBytesForYou
      @ThisBytesForYou  Před rokem +2

      thankfully, it does not seam to affect this because one of the M.2 slots is controlled by the CPU, (x16 on the cpu and x4 from the m.2 slot, for 20 lanes) then the other 3 are controlled by the Chipset, the chipset however can control up to 4 and 8 SATA ports. PCIE 5.0 is nice.

    • @ThisBytesForYou

      yes, extracted, never run or use files inside of a zip file. Pretend a zip file is luggage, you dont get dressed inside your luggage, you take everything out and get dressed.

    • @ThisBytesForYou
      @ThisBytesForYou  Před 2 lety +1

      well, that could be due to your processor and available PCIE lanes. what is the manufacturer and model number of your motherboard, processor, m.2 SSd's and video card?

      @theunboxnetwork Před 2 lety +1

      @@ThisBytesForYou Motherboard is ASUS ROG Maximus Z690 Extreme (WiFi 6E) LGA 1700 (Intel 12th Gen) EATX Gaming.
      Processor is Intel 12900
      M.2 drives are two Firecuda 530 and one 980 Pro.
      GPU is EVGA GeForce RTX 3090 FTW3 ULTRA GAMING 24GB GDDR6X 24G-P5-3987-KR

    • @ThisBytesForYou
      @ThisBytesForYou  Před 2 lety +1

      OK, so the issue I think you are having is PCIE Lanes.
      The processor provides 20 PCIE lanes. The video card takes up 16, then when you introduce an M.2, it should drop down to x8 but then you bring in 3 x M.2's which require x4 each, so with them you have 12 taken, but there is a setting, that you may need to set in the BIOS for your PCIE lanes, to manually set them to 8x8 to allow this to work.
      Sadly, your motherboard manual doesn't give me any info on it, you will need to look. You may also need to disable PCIEX16(G5) in the BIOS

    • @ThisBytesForYou
      @ThisBytesForYou  Před 2 lety +2

      the BIOS will not until it has its UEFI parition on it, it will detect it in the section that only tells you information at 9:00, after you install though, you will see it in the boot priority under windows boot image.

    • @ThisBytesForYou
      @ThisBytesForYou  Před 2 lety +2

      it should not be a concern, if you have UEFI enabled in your BIOS, just install and set the Windows Boot Manager it creates as the boot device. If you have your BIOS set as Legacy, you might not see this. Then also, if you have multiple drives in your machine, you r BIOS maybe set up to see only 1 drive, you have to select the proper drive, then select that drive as the main boot drive. Since I only had 1 drive installed, I didn't show this.
